Raskin for me was top banana last night just ahead of Cerny who had a great game. Im not getting the gushing over Barron, thought he played well mostly but did nowhere near as much as his wee partner in the engine room, and he still dives in to intercept passes he cant get to which then leaves us wide open to the break. Happened again last night but thankfully the opponent wasted the opportunity. Lawrence took his goal really well but then faded as he often does after scoring. It was pointed out to me at the game last night that you could have got very long odds on us playing a European game with a forward line of Tav Igamane and Lovelace which is how we finished last night! Really enjoyed the game and performance. Please repeat it on Sunday.

I would add my vote to Stuart Munro as an unsung hero. I am pretty sure at one stage he was the only uncapped player in the team but you wouldnt know it, a very reliable and able full back in amongst all Souness's big money buys.

Watched a bit of this and the standard is truly awful. I am not sure how much we as a club are pumping into the womans setup, but it surely must be the best part of £1M which begs the question is it worth it?

Every single player in that 2007 team (maybe apart from jig) would walk into our current team with absolutely no hesitation. And you've got to remember most of these players retired some years ago. True story, I was there that night and we were sitting in a bar just off the main square when some locals came up and asked us for a score prediction. Me and my mate both played it safe saying we would love a draw but appreciate what a top side Lyon are, my other mate replies with a straight face 3-0 to the Rangers no problem, at which point they locals fell about laughing and we took the beer off him. When the third went in he turned and said, told you, never in doubt!! One of the best smash n grab victories ever, with a Walter tactical masterclass, a huge effort from the players and a lot of luck. No idea what to expect from Lyon tonight, but hope we can raise our game and take something out of it. A win would be sensational, a draw would probably be a good point and keeps us in the top half of the table.

yes but we have been quite careful with him with rotation when we are playing weekend/midweek consecutively over his time with us, but it seems now as we are thin for cover there we cant really afford to rest him.

Yes big Soapy for me too. Commanding performance. Can he now play 3 full games in a week? Really good performances from most of the team last night, but Souttar, Propper, Dio, Bajrami the pick of the bunch for me.

Could it be purely down to the Scottish referees?

Comparing his goals to the wee diving Jap directly doesn’t tell you everything as they have several other players also chipping in goals. For example I’m fairly sure I seen that Forrest, who only played about 6 weeks at the end of the season, scored the same as Cantwell who played all season. Outside Dessers & Tav, Cantwell might well have been our 3rd top scorer. Forrest was probably 7th or 8th. Probably got these stats a bit skewed but the point is a more general one which I’m sure can be seen.

Watched the first half again on Monday night as Premier were showing a full replay of the game, and the amount of really good chances Dessers misses in the first half is ridiculous. Grateful he took his 2 goals well, but he really should have had 5 or 6. It is these misses, coupled with big misses in OF games, that make a lot of bears believe he is not good enough. All fair and well scoring 7 for the season already, but when he should be on about 15 including an opening goal in a big OF game, it isnt hard to see why he isnt being entirely lauded.

Jefte easily the best player for me. Dessers scored two, won a penalty and still missed another 4 or 5 good opportunities. I thought Barron had his best game to date, only one stupid mistake this week so hopefully he is learning to cut those out his game and concentrate on his better attributes. Liked Bajrami but think he is wasted out wide, get him in the 10 slot! Honourable mention for big Soapy, another stellar performance.

Motherwell in the semis, definitely happy with that.

Bheasts goalless at HT at home to Jambos. Brave young referee gives an early booking to a bheasts for a poor tackle, and then a penalty to Hearts when Shanklands header from a corner hits the outstretched arm of Scales. A full 2 minutes of McGregor in his face, touching his arms, gesticulating, and clearly trying to influence the referee. When VAR does their usual and says in his ear “you don’t want the hassle mate, have another look” then this behaviour pays off as the referee goes to the monitor which is located right in amongst the bheasts fans who are all screaming at him, sees exactly what he seen when he gave the penalty, and bottles it and overturns the decision. I don’t think it’s paranoia to think that if this was at Ibrox, the penalty would stand because we would not spend that time trying to put doubt in the referees mind, and VAR may not see enough to suggest a review.

It depends who we are playing and where. Id have quite a different side for a home game v Bottom league side as opposed to an away game in Europe or piggery. Also need to see more of the newbies to see the quality they bring. At this stage all I know is what players I don’t want to see in any Rangers side, which sadly is still several. But I’m hoping by this time next year the squad will be unrecognisable from Beale’s bottlers.

oh ffs that is the opposite of the kind of draw the bheasts got. Our luck just goes on and on and on....

No point waiting till the team is announced for this one, heart ruling head as i'd bite your hand off for a draw but lets go for a 2-1 win with Dessers finally not fluffing a big chance in an OF game.
