  1. No stand-outs in what was a pretty drab performance where we had to gut it out and our sheer desire and determination got us over the line. In such a scrappy game I would normally go for the goalscorer as being the one who made the difference, but while Morelos overall game the other night was very good, I thought his finishing was very poor, so I am going elsewhere for a change. Our defence were not troubled much if at all and they all were comfortable, so I am looking further upfield and it was the constant desire of Aribo, Davis & Kamara that stood out for me with not much between them. But for that lovely drop of the shoulder that got him past his man and effectively set up the goal, I go for Kamara this time, although I can't disagree with Morelos, Davis, Aribo and can see why some are drawn to Goldson as well. Nice to see that right through the spine of the team we had MOTM candidates in what was a really scrappy game due to the conditions, refereeing, and opponent.
  2. I still prioritise my own blood pressure to be calm before a combusting bheasts, but I take your point!
  3. Can’t agree guys, I love nothing more than an at least 5 goal victory with great football on show. These turgid 1-0 affairs only give me some relief when the FT whistle goes, and you can’t really enjoy them until that point.
  4. SG on absolutely top form in the post match, slaughters Beaton , the linesman, the 4th official all in one go. Simply sensational. Says he will sleep fine and sing Sweet Caroline on the bus home ???????
  5. Agreed, he must call that cheat out this time. It’s gone on too long.
  6. Yes the pitch is garbage but Livy play 19 league games at home a season and there are not many 0-0 games. We just don’t play well against this opponent for some reason.
  7. Couldn’t agree more. Fireworks at any time are completely unnecessary, in a pandemic when nobody is allowed out its insane, and at 0-0 in a crap game even more ridiculous.
  8. Linesman not taking any chances, close enough, up goes the flag just in case!
  9. Lennon says a lot worse just about every week with no punishment
  10. When even Andy Walker calls it a stonewaller, added to the several hundred bad decisions previously given by the cheat, you got to wonder why he isn’t called out on it by our club?
  11. When did we win the league? This so far is an end of season kick about with nothing at stake. Our tempo, passing and movement is non existent so far. Waken up guys, we have a title to win!
  12. I’m on record as saying I would have sacked the lot of them , but also that I was glad it wasn’t up to me, but what a way for Patterson to apologise to the manager, club & fans than with a 16 second goal in a finely balanced European tie at Ibrox. That is a decent start to repaying the faith SG has shown in him, but clearly there is a long way to go until that debt is paid off in full.
  13. A fantastic watch as always. A couple of things I thought were interesting from it, firstly the ref saying thank you to Alfie when he stopped the game to allow treatment to the defender who pulled up injured. Secondly, the ref telling the keeper to stay on his line at the pens, but the speech play from one of the defenders trying to put Borna, and Ced the Ted, off just as they are about to hit it. Lastly, a lovely shot of Borna and their keeper smiling and chatting on the way off, no doubt discussing last weeks stare-off! Obviously it is so much better with no crowd noise as the mics pick up all the players shouts, coaches instructions, yelps from players kicked (and also when hardly touched!) and it won’t quite be the same when crowds are back, but it is going to be a marvellous series in our history to look back on a number of years from now.
  14. It’s a really difficult one given the range of offences highlighted and the different times these offences occurred in. As I said at the start, I would normally be on the side of rehabilitation, but on this occasion with so much at stake and with emergency laws brought in to try to keep the pandemic in check I find it indefensible to attend a house party. The stupidity, arrogance, selfishness is, to me, off the scale and only blind luck meant they got caught out before they could rejoin training and force us to self-isolate a much larger number of our squad, perhaps causing us to withdraw from Europe, and get domestic games cancelled. The only other case I can think of that is also off the chart indefensible is Gazza’s wife-beating, which I personally find reprehensible and should have seen him sacked in my opinion. The other cases you mention, would have seen them sacked in Struth’s era I would guess, but in the 90’s were not really seen as being quite so bad on the scale of the moral compass, so other disciplinary routes were seen as enough punishment and I can’t recall disagreeing with how we handled those cases at the time. If all that makes me a little hypocritical, then fair enough. I’m glad I don’t have to make the decision!
  15. Yes we were certainly starting to get a foothold around the time of our first goal but United were still looking better and more dangerous up until we scored I thought. Thankfully that’s why we have a world class keeper and we don’t panic anymore in these situations and we have the belief that we will turn things around.
  16. The most significant contribution came from McGregor. We could have been out the game in first 30 mins were it not for his vital saves. Aribo was top drawer today, a joy to watch but it’s the keeper for me.
  17. Thought we were second best all over the park for 30 mins then we got a goal against the run of play and never looked back. A lot of that is the shape and effort United started with had us on the back foot and we had to rely on some great saves from McGregor to keep us in it. I give United a lot of credit for the way they shaped up and played, if they match that in a couple of weeks, we could be crowned at Tannadice (again) without playing (I think!) Once we hit them with a quick fire double the result was never in doubt and we created a lot of chances and played some good stuff. Only negative in second half was conceding a consolation goal, that shows how picky we are getting! Delighted with the win, 3 more points closer now, and hopefully Ross County can complete the Carlsberg Sunday and bring us even closer.
