  1. Yes absolutely and we wouldn’t forfeit the tie if we were the victims of racist abuse.
  2. Said the same at the time. We should have left the field. Force UEFA to walk the walk or their anti-racism campaigns are just empty words.
  3. He better not be giving them the chance to deal with it privately, there is no room for racism and we must take this all the way or we are utter hypocrites.
  4. Not convinced they are a better team, but they fully deserved to go through, (for now anyway before they are thrown out for racism!). Too many of our players who have been superstars for us all season have had a mare tonight and you can’t play at this level with half a team missing. And for as bad as we were we were still well in it until Roofe shat out of going for a through ball with his head and almost decapitated the keeper instead. Im sure the ref was Beaton or Clancy in disguise!
  5. Quite an interesting line up just announced with Balogun back in for Helander, Arfield in midfield and Aribo further forward with Hagi benched. Helander & Hagi very unlucky to miss out, both been playing very well recently.
  6. If these gestures help even the slightest bit in eradicating the scourge of racism from our game and society at large, then carry on doing it. If those most affected by racism in our society feel this is helping, then keep on with the message. id happily give up the ridiculous line-up and shaking hands between players and continue with anti racism messages.
  7. I hope this hospitalisation is not life-threatening and that the operation was a complete success. Wishing Walter a speedy recovery.
  8. No surprise at the 2 names coming up time and again, hard to split them. Both had excellent games, with a few others working hard and worthy of plus marks, Patterson, Goldson, Morelos, Hagi for me all had good games, while Aribo had a 15 minute spell where he almost won us the game and was a real threat, then he got taken off?? Absolutely delighted at the score draw, about 15-20 minutes in I was hoping to just keep in the tie as Slavia started brilliantly with real energy, physical power and pace, and really closed us down all over the park. But as can happen with a team putting so much into the early stages, they burn themselves out and we were certainly the better side in the second half and got a draw which we deserved in the end. I rate our chances of progression at 50/50 as if this side come out at Ibrox and repeat the dominant performance of the first half hour, we may find ourselves up against it. This is a tie we can certainly progress in, but would be no disgrace to come up just short.
  9. A full apology from McLaughlin for his lies first, and a record over the next few months of fair and balanced reporting before we give them any exclusive access to players, manager etc. We have to be sure they mean it before we lower our guard.
  10. Cheers @ian1964 I think this one will be a bit special so don’t want to miss it!
  11. Did this actually get released, I can’t find it, latest episode is still showing as Antwerp?
  12. That is simply marvellous. I was at every single one of those games mentioned apart from Leipzig as I don’t do friendlies, and it touches an emotional nerve recalling it in such a well written article. Some (probably all) of the content that has come out from the club this last few days has been at a level I thought was impossible from the team there. Superb stuff.
  13. As much as we will not ever forget King’s contribution to our recovery, I wish he would stop talking about the bheasts and just concentrate on us.
  14. I only saw about 25 of the game v Leicester by which time they were defending their lead comfortably. An unbeaten domestic record (I didn’t know that) will certainly suggest confidence and quality in abundance. If this is a step up from Benfica, then we are probably not quite 50/50 to go through.
  15. Good point gs, as a dog owner, fireworks are an absolute nuisance and terrifying for pets. Not to mention completely unnecessary. Can we not just get the pubs open for a sash bash, eh, respectable celebration, where can celebrate in small groups not harming anyone?
  16. Certainly looked a decent side and their results in Europe this season have been impressive. Are they really going to be any better than the sides we have already beaten? Are they better than Galatasary, Benfica, Liege, Antwerp? I dont think so, so it will come down to who has the best game plan, who takes their chances, who gets a bit of luck. But the biggest challenge we face for the first leg is the weekend of partying and the relief to get over the line and win our title back. The scenes from within the club over the last couple of days, with the booze flowing and the release of the built-up nerves and tension, was clear to see. As well as our management team have done this season, this will be a herculean challenge to get the players back to their full focus and to park the celebrations now until trophy presentation day. There is still so much to play for, an unbeaten league season, a perfect home league record, European prestige (and money and coefficient points) and the Scottish Cup that we have to really focus on. On our best form we could still lose this two-legged tie if the luck doesnt go our way, but turn up without the proper focus and we could be in for a very tough night. I would love us to keep ourselves in the tie after the away leg but I fear the 55 party could cost us.
  17. I think one of the biggest differences this season, has been the improvement in Goldson (and Tav to an extent) in both defending and concentration. Last couple of years, I always felt there was a mistake coming, or they would be easy beat at the crucial moment. Think back to some of the goals we conceded in Europe last season, and important goals domestically too. Down that right side of our defence where they two operated without exception, was where to get at us from an opponent's viewpoint. They have worked really hard along with our coaches to eliminate those errors for this season and they have become two of our most consistent and reliable performers. Last season I thought Goldson was our 4th best centre back, and while he was clearly the leader of the back line, that didnt make up for the regular errors. This season he is hands down our best centre back. He deserves all the credit for that, and I take my hat off to him for the countless hours of work that must have went into his game.
  18. Delighted with that first half performance, 2 smashing goals, totally in control, tempo was good from the start, playing with a swagger, lovely to watch. RTV been a little jumpy, a lot more buffering going on than usual, hope the 2nd half coverage is more reliable.
  19. I’m absolutely disgusted at those scenes. There is a feckin lockdown in force to prevent people dying. The selfishness on show by those idiots only goes to ensure it is longer until we can all get back to the games. I have suffered like the rest of us and am desperate to celebrate our long awaited title and the completion of a 9 year journey back to where we belong. I was at Brechin at the start, at Stirling when we lost for the first time in the 4th tier, at Alloa to see us knocked out the diddy cup, I gave up my ST and a fantastic seat to try to get rid of the spivs, I was in Luxembourg to see the worst ever defeat in our history, and I am desperate to be in attendance when we win the title but am resigned to the fact that I won’t be. There will be plenty of time to celebrate when the restrictions are eased, until then we just have to celebrate at home. That is utterly crap, but it is the only acceptable way to do it. I was highly critical of the bheasts for their antics at Hampden, and I am hugely disappointed that we are doing the same, although where the groin brigade wannabes are concerned I shouldn’t have been surprised. This has their hallmark all over it.
  20. Think that may need to wait until the post split dead rubber matches, I can’t see SG starting fringe players before the title is official, or in the OF games.
  21. I agree with this. Kamara, when on form, is just a much better player than Jack, and their styles clash so we don’t play as well, certainly in domestic games, with both in the side.
  22. With any luck this should at least ensure we do not see Beaton appointed to any of our remaining games this season. The statement lets us know that for once we didn’t just lie down and take it, but we went through the proper channels to call out this cheating piece of filth to his bosses.
