Absolutely not for me. 24 full time professional clubs is more than enough for a small country like ours. The rest should be in regional pyramids so the access to the top 2 leagues is still there but only on merit for Champions.

I never heard Lustig go off, and I didn’t hear any cheers when our boy went on but fair enough if you did. Its been a very disappointing tournament for our players with only Kamara getting decent game time but in a poor team in a dull group. Borna, Helander, Patterson & McLaughlin all just wasted valuable holiday time before our vital CL qualifiers. Add in Morelos who hardly got any game time in the Copa.

I was hoping Sweden would be eliminated to allow Helander a quick break then get back for pre-season, but if Sweden get through this, big Fil might be in line for a start against England in the QF. Would a Scottish crowd cheer him then?

Helander comes on as a result of a red card for a Swedish defender with 20 mins of extra time remaining. Booed onto the park by the Scottish crowd. What a country we live in.

I'm mightily proud and no less impressed with my own performance in this. Normally achieving mid-table mediocrity is success enough for me in the Rangers prediction table, the dizzy heights of second place has me all a flutter. Is that it, or are the knock-out games going to be part of this too?

Well he has been their first choice left back for a few years now including the warm up games so I guess he would have played if fit.

Billy Gilmour could do a job at most big clubs, he could be sensational for us at our domestic level. Very unlikely we will ever see him play in our shirt.

Dreadful shame that Borna was injured and missed the game. Was looking forward to seeing him at this level. Just watched the game in a full to capacity bar in Ribby Hall resort in Wrea Green, Lancashire beside a Man U and Burnley fan, enjoyed the game andEngland played well but I thought Croatia were poor. Obviously missing Borna!

What sort of fecked up, mental, unstable kind of bheast goes to George Square when their biggest rival wins the title and it’s been well documented that our fans will be there in huge numbers? Any time the bheasts win anything the very last place on earth I want to be is in the middle of their celebrations! Add in that we ruined their 9.75IAR and it makes it even more unbelievable. I know we have our own Neanderthals but surely to goodness we don’t have fans as unhinged as that?

3 of my top 5/6 are all in the same group and may not all get out of the group. World Champions France, European Champions Portugal and eternal big-stage favourites Germany. Mouth-watering stuff right from the group stages, i'm really looking forward to the tournament this year. As for a winner, I think the winner will come from this group, although usual candidates Italy & Spain can sometimes come through strong when not being too hyped up, and there is always England and Belgium, although I think neither is strong enough in all areas to win. With 4 3rd place teams also going through, it should keep all the group action and permutations interesting right to the end of the group stages, and then knock out football at international level is usually entertaining enough so I am hoping for a very pleasant tournament. As for our (Scotland) chances, I really cannot see us getting a point from either England or Croatia, so any chance of an historic progression as a third place side will only happen with a decent win against the Czechs in the first game. I fear we may well be out the tournament after 1 game, and lose all 3 games, perhaps even without scoring. I hope I am wrong but I cant find much to cling on to!

Yes that matches my memory of that game too. It was quite surreal. Compare that to the scenes at the Scottish Cup final a decade later.
