  1. Still nothing ? I hate Wee Nippy and her fucking incompetent cabal of scumbags. Their total mismanagement of this pandemic has cost me my seat for the game. ???
  2. Thought it must be, fair enough if I was wrong. However they are 3 weeks away from their first game as opposed to 6 days.
  3. I completely agree, I was delighted with how we played in and out of possession and from seemingly being miles away from being ready in our last game, we look to be ready now in all departments. I just won’t be getting too carried away and claiming the scalp of the Galacticos given how weakened they were. My prediction is that we “finally” draw them this year in the group stage, and if we repeat the result then I will be celebrating for weeks!
  4. I seen that @ian1964 but no matter the cost of some of those squad players, that was practically a reserve side and their first preseason game with their first competitive game still a few weeks away. Marcelo was top class though and it was a delight to watch him play but with no Benzema, Courtois, Militao, Verane, Casimero, Modric, Asensio, Vinicious Bale etc there can be no question this was not anywhere close to their first choice side.
  5. Well it really was good to be back after 500 days away from the place! Even though it was an undercooked reserve side we were playing, our sharpness and intensity was clear throughout and our energy in the press was impressive on a very hot day and led to our first goal and a number of other chances (how did Kent miss from there!). Having watched most of the Tranmere game, wee bits of the Arsenal and all of the Brighton game I didn’t think we were even close to ready but on today’s showing we look just fine and credit to all involved in getting to this stage bang on time. Sakala looks impressive and may give us different options up front, and Itten continued his impressive pre-season with another strong display. Kamara purred through the game and should be our number 1 midfield pick while he is here, he is improving his game all the time and is going to be a fantastic player if he picks the right club when it’s time to move, which sadly I think might be soon. During this pre-season I don’t think we have looked as good defensively or as ruthless in attack as we were this time last year and that will of course be a slight worry but it was a very different preseason this time due to no Euro qualifying before the league campaign starts, so I think we should be fairly relaxed and trust that our management team have it all under control.
  6. I think it is all about the disciplinary situation, and there had better be a good fee, not a wee one, with add one.
  7. I know a lot of Real Madrid’s best players won’t be back in full training yet after the Internationals and with their season typically starting later than ours, but I’ve only heard of 2 of those players Odegaard & Isco. Since La Liga moved away from Sky Sports I haven’t seen much of it but either that is a complete reserve side they are sending or I’m just miles out the loop on their players?
  8. Well that was a truly awful game of football. Was there more than 2 shots on target the whole game. A prime example of what I have always said, pre-season should be entirely behind closed doors with no tv coverage. It’s all about preparation for the real stuff ahead and on that basis it was probably an excellent workout from SG perspective as we got minutes into the legs of almost all our squad and picked up no obvious injuries so a complete success on that front. I dont expect anything different tomorrow against Real Madrid reserves but hope it all helps the manager towards Livingston next week and the CL qualification to follow, which is all that matters.
  9. Thats a strange one after West ham have reportedly had a couple of bids turned down we then offload him to the Pars. The West ham bid was either media nonsense or, well I cant see any other scenario where the timing fits this turn of events. Good luck to the lad, probably his last chance to prove he has a first team future with us.
  10. Thanks lads, took the tips and eventually got one in the Govan rear. Ibrox here I come after 16 very long months away!
  11. Anyone else having trouble securing their ticket for this game? I got an email from the club saying I had got a ticket in the ballot for this game, and to click the link to complete the purchase of it. Having clicked the link and logged in, there is no sign of an option to buy my own seat in Copland rear. I can select the match and I have gone through all of the Copland Front, Copland Rear and Govan front and it says all are sold out. WTF is going on? Any ideas?
  12. The club confirmed yesterday that the 2nd leg was at home and that as this was after 9th August for the next easing of lockdown by Wee Nippy the almighty leader and Fuhrer, they are expecting a full house to be allowed for this match.
  13. The bheasts are only allowed 2k for their “glamour” friendly v Preston this Saturday as well. Would love to understand why you are allowed 2k into Livingston or St Mirren but only the same number into Ibrox & the piggery? Where are our free press, it’s an open goal of a story against the Nazi party but yet again all I see is “cautious” “too soon” headlines. Disgusting.
  14. After many years (18 I think) of sticking by firstly the RST (was at initial meeting and signed up right away) then it’s successor bodies I have had enough of them and cancelled my 2 monthly dds. We never seem to stop suffering from infighting, cronyism, self-interest, and while many of those who have worked tirelessly and given up huge chunks of their time are unfairly chastised, I feel we are never going to learn. I have signed up to the share issue for the minimum and am happier giving the club my cash directly rather than through the fans vehicle. Really saddened by this thread, especially the letter from the Rev. It seems we will never learn.
  15. Woohoo!!!!! Championees Championees away away away!!!! I'd like to thank @Rousseau for running the tournament so efficiently as always, my fellow Gersnetters for their congrats, my family, friends, Stevie G, and everyone who has supported me through the seasons of mid-table mediocrity to this shock victory!
  16. I’m having to refresh every 10 seconds. Exactly 10 seconds I get each time then frozen. So frustrating. I will give it another 5 mins (30 refreshes) then I’m watching the cricket if it’s not fixed
  17. I assume that is half time as after another frozen screen or two it is now just a holding screen, so no HT coverage or review or anything. I know we are just cash cows and mugs but £30 for this level of coverage is very poor. Surely the online coverage should have been free for ST holders?
  18. Really poor goal to lose there. No marking or covering from short corner, nice finish from their guy but very sloppy. that’s what pre-season is for, getting these things sorted and tidied up before the proper stuff begins. it is quickly coming back to me why I have avoided pre season games for last 20 years or so, they really are not worth watching. They serve a purpose in getting players fit but they should all be closed doors, no tv affairs.
  19. Should be ahead! Lovely move puts Wright clean through but his shot is saved and Defoe somehow misses an open goal with a header from the rebound, hitting a defender on the line when he could have put it anywhere.
  20. I heard Tom Miller for a couple of minutes but mostly they have lost the comms feed and the picture has to be refreshed every couple of minutes as it freezes. From the little I’ve managed to actually see, looks a strong starting line-up and we look the more threatening but it’s fairly typical of early pre-season with very little pace in the game.
  21. Danny Murphy giving Craigan & Walker a run for their money in worst co-comms on tv category. Nauseatingly dull and has added not a single bit of insight all game.
  22. Been more action in 15 mins of second half than whole first half. Super goal by Italians and now Spain need to start passing forward instead of sideways and backwards, an exciting half hour remaining hopefully.
