  1. I get that but somehow I dont find it anywhere near as hard to decide not to go to an away game under these circumstances than a home game. The home game reflects on us as a club. I dont mind seeing an empty Tannadice or Easter Road, but an empty Ibrox is something I am struggling to imagine.
  2. This will be very interesting indeed. An away tie to an SPL side should see a 100% backed boycott from us. A home tie is different but as the money is split 50/50 there will be a number of fans more interested in the 50% that goes to the opposition than the 50% the club retains (and needs). That would be a hard choice for many fans, myself included. Here's hoping we can avoid an SPL side and continue to share with our SFL colleagues. East Fife must be delighted with getting a cheque for around £180-£200K. That is more in one night than that club could bring in through gate receipts in a year.
  3. Better late than never I suppose. With this and the fans groups statement, the pressure is mounting on the SPL, and we must ensure it is kept up for as long as they insist on going forward with this witch-hunt. It is amazing that with the list of sanctions available to any tribunal after a guilty verdict numbering 18, why it is only number 18 in severity is being discussed prior to any trial?
  4. Got home last night to find the renewal form waiting, and 5 minutes later using the online facility it was done. Like the majority, cant wait to get back to our stadium and see our team in action. Roll on Tuesday.
  5. We simply must back our club this season and for the next two by buying season tickets, merchandise at the club shop etc. Yes, the ownership must be kept under scrutiny and questions continued to be answered, but we must step up and play our part as well. I hear from inside the ticket office that there has so far been a fantastic response to the ST's going on sale, with unheard of levels of demand from supporters who didnt have ST's last year who are having to wait until the existing ST holders have had their chance to buy their existing seat before they can be sold a ticket. A major point for me is to avoid as many employees losing their jobs as possible. It is easy for the players to not TUPE across, or to find other clubs, but for ordinary workers at the club these must be extremely worrying times for their liveliehoods. New jobs wont be easy to find. On a more sporting level I would love us to sell more ST books than "them". They are really struggling to sell the books as they upped the cost by over £100 for 12-13 and without us to chase it is going to be a bit of a non-event for most of them who will continue to keep one eye (and both ears) on Div 3. There is no romance of a new start, no feeling of fighting against the world for them, just another boring old season in the SPL, but without the one and only thing that made it worthwhile buying a season book, us. If we could sell more ST's in Div 3 than they could in the top tier, that would really lay down a marker for us to beat them with. If our home crowds are bigger, or even close to theirs, it will be a fantastic achievement. So the cry must be for all bears to renew, or buy anew, a season ticket for the 12-13 season, and help the club we love along the journey to title number 55 come May.
  6. A great point I just seen on Facebook. Well v Rangers Aug 11 att: 10,092 Well v Rangers Mar 12 att: 9,063 Well v Pana July 12 att: 9,035 So the most attractive match Well will play all season, and their reward for their 3rd place finish last season, the only time they will play in the CL, still could not attract a bigger crowd than a dead rubber match against us only 4 months earlier.
  7. 4/5 Pana tonight must be the steal of the century, off to the bookies to get on. Double it with Moscow on thursday for over 2/1 the double. Great value.
  8. Good spot Frankie, and im sure pressure will be put on the club to do this, and i would hope ur fans groups would come out early and declare Kirkcaldy a no-go zone.
  9. As sad as this sounds, I would rather avoid Falkirk at this stage. Would love a home tie, but we should be confident of progress no matter.
  10. What is being missed here is that in 3 years time when (hopefully) we are promoted back to the SPL, there will be a great demand for the SPL tv rights for that season as we go back to fighting for the title and CL participation. That alone should see a much higher value placed on the tv rights for that season onwards. What the SPL are basically doing just now is trying to get Sky to sign up to a much longer deal to try to make the next 3 years worth more than they should be if sold on their own. What that means to us is that the tv rights for when we are back in the SPL are going to be worth a lot less to us because the clubs who have been in the SPL for the previous 3 years will have been getting paid a large part of the value that WE bring to the league, during the years we are not in the league. This, yet again, benefits one club far more than it does any other. As the one club who is going to be shown much more often than the others, scum fc are trying to do a deal to ensure they get OUR share of tv money for the future years while we are out of the equation. It is yet more "punishment" that they are taking our advanced tv rights money before we get there, and throwing the SFL a few crumbs along the way.
  11. Will this Hibbee blow-hard not just go away and leave us in peace. As a Hibs fan, why is he doing this "for free"? He's not one of us, so his motives must be questioned thoroughly. Is it just to upset the club and prevent stability? Im sorry, but if it looks like shit and smells like shit, it must be a True Blue Knights production.
  12. It is of course no surprise that the mob who refuse to go away are shit-stirring again in the week when ST renewals are about to come out, and the new season starting. Why else release this story, which is a month old, today through the usual useful idiots who have been pro-knights from th get-go. This Hibs supporting ego-maniac should be given zero credibility, as that is what he has earned from 5 months of utter bull, bluster, empty rhetoric and emptier pockets. The desperation from this mob is getting ridiculous, and only goes to make me want to back Green even more, which is not what should be happening as Green should be judged on his own merits, but if it a call between Kennedy and Green, then the club is certainly in the best hands already.
  13. Totally against this Hibbee becoming 51% shareholder in our club. Have we learned nothing from the past. Kennedy was all bluster and no cash and changed his mind almost daily. He wanted it for himself, then he wanted in with the nae-cash knights. We had 12 hours to arrange a CVA. He only wanted in if nobody else would save us. Basically, he is full of bull and we can do without his kind at our club. Another thing, he is not a bear, so therefore must be doing this just to make money. That seems to be the logic used elsewhere. So why would we entertain his bid now?
  14. Given that the first payment was usually taken at the end of May, anyone using this method of payment would have paid over £300 by the end of July. That is more than the ST will cost. I don't think that argument stands up this year.
  15. The club is fighting for it's very survival, and the very least we can do is back the club by purchasing season tickets. Unless we want scores of loyal employees being made redundant, we must help our club through these next few years and all come together as one. I can't believe those comparing div 3 prices at other clubs with our own. Look at our stadium, our training ground, our stature. They are not on a par with Annan or Brechin, and god help us if we are to compare with these clubs. We are Rangers, and we go to watch Rangers, whoever the opponents. 30% discount on last years takes my ST in Copland Rear from £433 to under £300. With no Europe, cheaper away tickets, and a much reduced ST, myself and many bears like me will be spending an awful lot less on supporting Rangers this season, so I don't see any reason for complaint.
  16. One thing I am really dreading is if we get drawn against the scum in one of the cups. It wont be pretty. Best avoided if at all possible until we are back in the top league with a squad to match.
  17. The SPL has been doing it for 14 years, so whats the difference apart from this time the smaller clubs, who were excluded when the SPL broke away, get a fairer allocation of the cash. On top of the settlement of £2M per year from the SPL, that makes the SFL tv money almost half of what can be expected the SPL to get! As we are now members of the SFL that has got to be a good thing.
  18. I am hoping that the few young prospect players that have had a taste of action last season and have stayed like Hemmings, Mitchell, Perry and with the relatively experienced (in perspective) Hutton and Kerkar, joining Alexander and McCulloch (expect Wallace to be sold) there is a nucleus of a side for the next couple of seasons. We should not expect much by way of cup runs, which will be very difficult for us given our usual level of expectation, and we must remain patient when we inevitably have a bad result or two along the way. Nobody wins a title without a hiccup, and given the lack of preparation Ally has had to try to gel a team together (remember he is still pretty much a rookie manager) we should be lowering our expectations somewhat, however sad that sounds.
  19. I think a bit of both is quite likely.
  20. Apart from "Fact" 2 not being a fact at all, that article is pretty decent. And there is the problem that will affect history. It is now being believed that Rangers DID cheat the taxman, where no evidence or court convictions are in existence of such action taking place. We have had court cases and investigations aplenty and no court or HMRC tribunal has said the words guilty to anyone at Rangers plc. Why this is taking so long I dont know, but we really do need to get the FTT decision published at some point to either have something tangible to go for Murray with, or to ensure our detractors cannot use this line any further.
  21. No, he quite clearly said £11M, of which they had about £3M left (maybe that's where your getting the £8M fig) plus another £2-3M due in.
  22. Walters gang was the blue knights who were going to make plenty of money out of the deal. Not in wages or dividends, but when the share issue went through. And Walter was only the front who, 24 hours later was telling close pals that he regretted getting involved, so I don't include him in the deal. In fact, the same way Green and co are going to make money out of this, only Green was up front and honest about it.
  23. Roll up roll up, the circus is back in town! Hot air, bluster, accusations and innuendo. There will be no proof, but a lot of bits of paper that will look like proof only when read in a suspicious manner. A bit like the Mark Daly interpretations of the Ticketus emails in his second documentary. When analysed properly they won't stand up to scrutiny, but it will be enough to persuade those turning up wanting to be persuaded that The current Rangers board, who have invested around £13m into the club to date in real cold hard cash, are all bad people out to screw us.
  24. Ok let me humour you here GS for a moment. So Green goes and Bomber's anonymous gang take over. Are we in better hands? We know nothing of Bombers consortium, he refuses to name names or give any funding details. That he refused to give any details to a closed meeting of vetted Bears should worry everyone willing to give him any credibility, which I don't.
