  1. What an absolute mess this has become. The committee of the RFFF who voted for this were backing a fellow Rangers fan who was being bullied into silence by someone with deeper pockets. When the threat to back him was made public, Easdale backed off. It was a calculated plan by the RFFF committee to get Easdale to back down, and it worked. In my mind, it was never going to come to it that the money was actually going to be spent on this, it was just using the clout of the money to get a resolution to a disgusting lawsuit from a Director that continues to shame the position. That it has escalated into statements from NARSA, who have pretty much said nothing about anything for long enough, beggars belief. Demanding their money back indeed, I have heard it all now. Calling for resignations of outstanding fellow Bears who have put hundreds of unpaid hours into the RFFF cause over the last two years, and who continue to monitor the legal actions that could yet call for the money to be used to defend our titles that our enemies want to strip us of, is a laughable embarressment from NARSA who seem to have found a bandwagon to jump on after sitting on their hands for years. Where are their statements about Whyte, Green, Ahmed, SFA, SPL etc? Nope, their first statement in years attacks a few guys that have put so much in for not a thing back, all because they wanted to show Easdale that we would not be threatened with silence. As has been said before, if they had went ahead and spent the money on this that would be a different thing, but that was never the intention. It was a public show of unity that was all that was required to get the particular job done. Perhaps they should have phoned one or two of the RFFF board to hear the reasoning behind it. All it took was one phone call for me to find out this information.
  2. Not going to be a party pooper or anything, but this film crew stuff doesn't do anything for me at all. If the majority is all for it then fair enough, but I don't think I will get involved. Done these types before and yet to see one done well, and looking at the film crews previous work they don't have much football experience and know nothing of our great club. To clarify, I have no objection to them attending if the majority are in favour. Won't stop me from attending, that's for certain.
  3. Just been alerted to this thread. I never look at the stickys for some reason! I am good to go with the earlier start time guys, looking forward to it.
  4. Good on the RST for bringing this up. I await the usual sweeping away of the statement by the SFA.
  5. Davies comes across as an arrogant twat IMO, and nowhere near the level of coach/manager we require. Thanks also to Bluedell for reminding me about the threesome with Sheridan, just after finishing my last mouthful of sandwich. I'm going to have indigestion all afternoon now!
  6. Anyone any idea just when this review period is up, and how long it will take post the 120 day mark to publish the review findings? I know the AGM was mid-December, but it was stated at that time that the review had already started. Has it ever been nailed down what the important, upcoming dates to watch out for are?
  7. Not a bad article for an ex-England manager!! Easdale(s) is/are bad news for our club, you can just sense it. Just like you knew Martin Bain was over-promoted and incapable of running us day-to-day if it were not for the fact that he had to run all the important decisions past somebody else first. Just like the Easdale brothers have to. The question is, who do they run things for? It certainly is not for the betterment of Rangers FC first and foremost.
  8. VIPs is an excellant alternative IMO. Try getting them to sue for calling them important, but most fans will see the clever word play, which is certainly not illegal. That the Easdales have gone down this route in showing their sensitive side against any verbal abuse tells me, and no doubt a lot of others, that they had no idea what they were letting themselves in for when they agreed to represent other people's shares on the board, and that they are not adequately emotionally secure to retain the appointment. Perhaps Mr Easdale(s) should appoint someone else to represent other people's shares on the Board and go back to the gainful employment they had prior to taking this job on.
  9. The bit in bold is an excellant point that many gloss over now as if the standard of fare we were used to pre-2012 was like watching Barca or Bayern. The overall standard in Scotland since the bubble burst (with the refusal to sign the SKY deal and attempt SPL TV) almost a decade ago has been in freefall. Having been going to almost every game home, away and abroad for the last 25 years, the last decade has had far more painful afternoons of turgid fare than memorable ones. Trips to Paisley, Perth, Hamilton, Motherwell etc have all been pretty boring the last few years, which is something most of us seem to have forgotten as we play a lower standard of park-the-bus teams and our own quality is much reduced. Given our wage bill is about 20% of what it used to be it is no surprise.
  10. The problem with this is that the blue cards will already be printed with just more King=good, Board=bad promotions on it and no detail. If we are to get behind King in earnest we need to hear his plans. too many times already we have been told to get behind a good bluenose like Paul Murray, McColl, Blue Knights, etc only for their plans to be nothing more than bluster and blazer chasing when it came down to it without the cold hard cash to back it up. King has to get the right plan, and tell us about it if he wants the majority to go along with him. I am pretty certain most Bears tomorrow will hold up the cards, just like the red cards earlier this season, but a large number doing so without conviction due to a lack of information. It is too easy to say the current board are bad and King is the only alternative, but surely we can learn from the last few years that this should not be a done deal. Anyone remember the argument that Craig Whyte must be better than David Murray because he is a bear. Or that Charles Green talks a good game and must be good. Or that the Blue Knights are great because it is all bears. McColl is a bear, we must get behind him. I tentatively welcome King's move here, and I have seen enough of Easdale, Laxey etc to know a bad egg when I see one, but 2 + 2 = 4 doesn't work out as simply as it looks when it comes to our club. If King were to come out and say that his plan is to get as many ST holders as possible on board with this "in trust" scheme to solely put pressure on the Institutional Investors to realise they are backing the wrong horse and back King's plans, call an EGM and remove Easdale & Chrichton (Somers too if we are up for it!) and put King in to work with a new board and start to arrange for the next share issue that would be a start. However the "trust" in my view must be available for Bears to take their money out before the first game of the season to buy their ticket if by then it is clear that this is doomed to failure. I believe there is more chance of a large number of Bears signing up to this if they have the fail-safe of being able to buy their book before the first game so as to safeguard their seat/area and not lose it. If the plan is to release money to the club on a game by game basis then I dont believe many bears will sign up to that as everyone likes their own seat they have had for years and wont want to lose it for a random seat each week. Big decisions to be made and I truly hope that King gets this right. It may be the only chance he gets.
  11. Brahim, I dont think you need to go to any trouble over collecting the money and setting up a new deposit account or anything like that. Just PM the ones who have said they are going with any account details you want to use, and keep a note of who has paid you what. I am quite sure nobody here is wanting to see proof that the money is there, we are all Bears after all and those who have met you or know your background would vouch the same I am sure.
  12. We had better not or the meltdown from Sunday will seem small fry!
  13. Not forgetting that "if" Albion Rovers get to the semi, their 20,000 ticket request will be downgraded to 10,000 overnight.
  14. My thoughts exactly, and I'm not too upset that he may miss out. Hasn't been the worst in recent weeks but is too negative and has no tempo to his game, which is what our midfield needs to break down these bus parks we face every game.
  15. While I dont understand Tapas and dont like seafood, I am more than happy to come along to this and have a bite & blether with my fellow Gersnet Bears. If the menu was in English instead of Paella-ish I might have been able to work out something I can eat. I dont usually go without as my burgeoning waistline will testify, so I will be fine and as long as the Cerveza flows I will be happy enough! Sign me up BH!!
  16. I would dearly love one of these schemes to work. I bought into Gersave from the start and only stopped when we went into admin 2 years ago. Didnt do Buy Rangers as I had a few issues with how they sold that. The magnitude of the Rangers support all contributing a small amount would be something to behold. Like FS, I am hopeful and have an open mind, but fear we have been down this road a few times already without success.
  17. An end of season dinner should be near the end of the season IMO. I voted Stranraer game. However that is likely to be last home game of season and therefore trophy presentation day and probably moved for TV. Last home game of the season might clash with a lot of other end of season bashes, so in hindsight might not be best option for some of us.
  18. Quite like this idea, and would happily come along if the date/time allows. I know a few from here, but it is always nice to meet other Bears over a small refreshment or two.
  19. I would be more worried if he was selected to play for us in the final, as stuck out on the wing doesnt seem to be suiting him much so far. Of course it could be that he just needs a year to settle in to a very different culture and lifestyle than he will have been used to, and it may be next season before we see what he is capable of.
  20. Good words from the big man. You could say that if someone like him can see how bloody obvious it is, why cant a lot of our fans?
