  1. A sad indication of where we are as our games get cancelled because QOTS and Alloa are playing in cups that we have been humiliated in and dumped from.
  2. The QOTS game scheduled is cancelled as they are still in the cup, and the Alloa game scheduled is cancelled for the diddy cup final, so it actually makes a lot of sense to rearrange previously cancelled games to empty weekend slots. Can't believe they managed to get something right, but there you are!
  3. I was hoping he was going to appeal it, only so as his ban can be increased and he can miss more games as he is by far the worst "defender" I have seen at Ibrox in many years.
  4. With respect BH, the above quotes are absolute nonsense. John has been approached as he has countless contacts in Scottish business circles, is a well-respected businessman in his own right, and also can call amongst his friends and acquaintances just about all of the people and businesses that have inhabited the sponsorship lounges at Ibrox in the last generation who will be targeted to return once the club is in safe hands. He also attends every match home and away and often travels on my supporters bus, so he knows full well the depth of feeling amongst "ordinary" Bears that have seen their club pulled apart over the last few years. I know John pretty well and was sitting beside him on Sunday during the first half of the match. Obviously our discussions regarding all things Rangers shall remain private between us, but I know John will work tirelessly (and has already been doing so over the last few weeks/months) to bring attractive sponsorship, commercial contracts, and hospitality usage back to the club, while advising the board on who our enemies are in the media, and who we can trust. It is true that he was vice-chair of the RST for a while, but I am not sure how much, if any, his involvement with it is or has been for the last few years. If we had a board made up of several guys of the calibre of John Gilligan we would be back on top in no time, I have absolutely no doubt of that.
  5. Congrats to Rangers First on crashing through the 8,000 contributing members barrier today. I hope this rate of new members (or membears as it appears to be!) continues right up to, through, and long after the EGM and that finally, between RF & RST we will have some shareholder power at our club no matter who is running it, but especially if those running it are not doing the job properly.
  6. Another example of the Rhebel's bias reporting where a clearly sectarian attack by Celtic fans is reported without a mention of the reason for the attack. And some want to sympathise with this gutter rag at getting banned.
  7. The first thing I have agreed with the current board doing in ages. The daily Rhebel has been no friend of Rangers for about two decades and should have joined BBC Scotland, Radio Clyde and others on the banned list many years ago. Unfortunately the board are banning the Rhebel for having a go at the board and not for all the other bias and lies against us as a football club during their tenure. The enemy of my enemy is rarely my friend, he is still my feckin enemy.
  8. We knew the propoganda war from Irvine and his lackeys will intensify as the regime gets more desperate the closer they get to being kicked out, so tosh like this and Indian billionaires, and no doubt talk of investment from Ashley and perhaps even a new manager appointed before the EGM are all to be expected to try to sway some votes their way, or into apathetic appeasement. Not to vote is almost as good as a NO vote. I agree with the other posters who advocate not posting his trash at all and liking it to timmy bloggers works works for me.
  9. I think you have picked me up wrong Greg. I said the RST has had its members vote poll up already and i want the RF vote poll to be available for members asap. As soon as the RF has the vote for its members, it can then go and ask for proxies from non-RF shareholders as it is clear who RF will be voting for and like-minded shareholders who cant attend the EGM may want to utilise RF to enable their votes to count. The RST cannot yet declare which way it is going to vote in the EGM as it is currently undergoing its member vote through its website just now, but it can give an indication (as seen in the other thread just now) that there is overwhelming support for all 7 resolutions. It is all a bit of a moot point because we all know that all 7 resolutions will be voted for by all well-meaning Rangers supporters/shareholders, my main point was that RF are behind the 8-ball in this event and that was surprising to me as a member given how proactive RF have been in other areas.
  10. I was at the RF meeting yesterday morning and while some of the soundbites were all worthwhile I was disappointed to attend a meeting a few days after the EGM announcement, and a full 3 weeks after the EGM was called for, and RF still have no poll asking members what way they want to vote. It was taken as a given that the vote will be in favour of all 7 resolutions, but as a democracy RF has to go through with the polling of its members. In comparison the RST have had a poll up for its members to vote since Friday. RF cannot with any sincerity ask shareholders to proxy votes to them when it has not declared its democratically produced voting intentions. There is a real desire for as many shareholders as possible to give a proxy vote to any body who will be voting in favour of all 7 resolutions to avoid having to attend the meeting in London, and to ensure as many votes as possible are polled, and I was fully expecting to hear the details of the poll being put up that day and how it would run. Get your act together RF on this asap. Dont take your eye off the ball from what is really important. Democracy must be totally transparant or you will lose support.
  11. Have to laugh at the Directors not attending matches after taking security advice. The actual matches, results and hosting visiting Directors etc must be the least enjoyable part of their job given none of them support Rangers in the first place. Getting an excuse not to turn up is doing them a favour.
  12. Hilarious that the scumbag Irvine has fed his favourite scumbag BBC journo with an absolute lie in order to try to move the story away from the date and location of the EGM. His predictable moves that were actually predicted by bears on various forums should not be given any merit. Surely not even the most ardent supporters who up to now refuse to admit they have been duped (again) by the lies coming out of Ibrox will realise this "story" has no merit in truth and ignore it.
  13. My guess is that the loan deal goes along the lines of that he players are free as long as Ashley wins EGM, and RFC have to pay wages in full plus loan fees if Ashley loses control at EGM. That is what I would do if I hated our club as much as Ashley does.
  14. Glad to be one of the 7,000, and hopefully this can continue to grow at it's current pace. I am also pleased that RF also seems to be encouraging and generally positive towards RST's scheme, of which I am also a member and supporter of, and hope it continues to grow in huge numbers also. If we can keep the momentum up post EGM (whatever way that falls), then a year down the line these two groups will be in a good position to have a combined powerful fans voice.
  15. Its the worst celtic team I have ever seen, and a lot of celtic fans I know think the same. And on top of that they are in decline as their (non-player trading) income reduces every year with reduced season ticket sales (and all at reduced prices), hospitality slashed, sponsorship and tv money reduced, and even their glamour pre & mid season friendlies are not as lucrative as before. Their overheads for CP and Lennoxtown are easily as high as ours are for Ibrox & Auchenhowie, and their annual salary bill is 2-3 times as much as ours. Not forgetting the huge Co-op bank debt that they still have. Let us not kid ourselves on that celtic are uncatchable, they are run today like they have been run for the last 100 years, if they are ahead of us on the park they never invest, their whole existence and well-being is to be slightly ahead of us. IF we can oust this board and influence at the EGM and get the feel-good factor back to the club, together with the correct managerial appointment, we can be back competing with them in one-two seasons. As stupid as this sounds given our current plight, it is easily turned around because celtic have allowed themselves to remain in touching distance by the lack of investment and forward thinking, together with the economic factors and the bigotry of their hard core support who are only going to turn up when it is competitive and every result is gauged by what our result was. A lot of our playing problems are to do with confidence and attitude. The malaise at the club, in the boardroom, the management, coaching and playing poor opponents for 3 years now, has led to the current group of players underperforming and not really caring too much about it. A lot of these players are better than what we have seen from them, a few are being played ahead of better players due to personality issues (management team prefer some players to others who could be playing better than them), and the lack of resources has meant we have not made any effort to recruit better players within our existing budget and move on players who are surplus to requirements. A lot of this can change pretty much overnight with the victory in the boardroom followed by the right managerial appointment. Can many of you take issue with the synopsis that if Ashley loses the AGM, and we appoint Laudrup/De Boer (plucked out of think air, other attractive options are available) as manager, our next home gate would be over 40,000. I believe that would happen. Bears I speak to who have stopped going due to the boardroom or the football Ally/McDowall played are desparate to come back if they are given a decent reason to do so. With proper PR this would be seen as the new revolution at Ibrox and Bears would be clamouring to get behind this and give good bears in control in the boardroom and in management the backing we have been known for giving when things we are being treated fairly.
  16. Oh, and I forgot to add to my previous thread, are any of them any good and what positions do they play? I have never heard of any of them but I understand one of them has had a run out for Northern Ireland, not that that proves any quality at all given how bad a side they are. I am sure I also seen something on twitter last night that 2 were thought to be right backs? Surely not!
  17. What sort of loan fees have we had to pay to either Newcastle/agents/middle men for these 5 players? What has this added to the wage bill? Did our (caretaker but doesn't want to be there) manager have any say on these players being brought in? What positions do they play and was our current squad reviewed and players for required positions targeted, and if so by who? Does this prove finally to SFA that dual ownership is on play, and what do they plan to do about it?
  18. I am delighted to announce that the Nithsdale Loyal RSC has today completed a purchase of 28,000 Rangers shares in our small attempt to try to get as many shares into Rangers supporters hands as possible. Our members are currently also looking to increase this number with individual purchases over the next week or so before the EGM. While this might not get us a board seat or even a mention of the list of shareholders, if every RSC out there managed to snap up a few thousand shares here and there we would soon have a significant enough number to collectively make a difference in voting terms and influence. I know other RSC's might already have done this either through the IPO or in more recent times as fan ownership vehicles have seen huge growth in numbers and contributors, and we salute them and now proudly stand alongside our brothers in arms against this regime.
  19. Another good piece D'Art, thanks. While Ashley clearly has the financial muscle at it's disposal, as you put it, he clearly does not intend actually investing a single penny into our club. His shares were bought from an existing shareholder. His loans are , well, loans and fully repayable. His retail "partnership" through Rangers Retail ensures he cannot make a loss or needs to invest a penny into it. I have no doubt the only money he has actually spent in Rangers direction is on legal and accounting fees, which he is still well ahead on with the repayment terms of his loans, and in any event that money doesn't actually benefit our club in the same way as him actually paying for advertising space would, that is if he did pay for the advertising space that his company has plenty of at Ibrox. In short, his financial muscle is not being flexed in our direction for the benefit of our club, and therefore it is fairly irrelevant other than as a smokescreen for those few (surely now a very small number) of fans who still believe he can and will come good for us. Give me someone (anyone) with Rangers support in their blood and the means and desire to treat us properly, and I will happily take it, even if their disposable income is a couple of Billion less than the corporate rapist with financial muscle.
  20. In days of old when football was football and only a few anoraks could tell you the names of the club board, the idea of an Old Firm game playing a supporting role in a day of sport would have the wee men in white coats heading in your direction. However that is how I am viewing this Sunday's mouth-watering line-up, and it is a sign of how much trouble our beloved club is in that it has come to this at all. The reality of a league cup semi final against our greatest rivals at Hampden would normally have me all fired up for weeks, and I cannot remember ever going into a domestic semi-final or final without the confidence that our heroes will emerge victorious. Indeed in any other time I would be eyeing up this fixture as the first course in another possible treble, and at the very least the chance to deny that other mob their chance of a treble. This Sunday we have the England v Australia ODI cricket final from Perth, WA, which starts in the wee small hours of Sunday morning. While England will be rightfully underdogs against the home team, this cricketing equivalent of an OF match will have plenty of spice and aggression and entertainment. At the time where that match is reaching boiling point, we then move to Melbourne for the Australian Open tennis final between our own Andy Murray and (probably) Novak Djokovic. These two have played 4 Grand Slam finals between them, each winning two each, and this could be an absolute belter of a match and one I am looking forward to immensely. Of course if Stan Wawrinka wins the SF (at time of writing it is a close match in the 4th set) it pits the defending champion against Murray, who has reached the Oz Open on 3 previous occassions, only to come up short each time against Djokovic and Federer. Then we have the football with our own match at 1.30, and a potentially attractive match between two good footballing sides in Southampton and Swansea at 4pm, and a double header from Spain involving Sevilla v Espanyol & a good looking clash between Barca & 6th placed Villarreal. By the time we have all had our football fix for the day, the biggest sporting event in the USA takes over with the Superbowl, this year between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks in what promises to be a clash between the best attacking (or offense in USA lingo) team (New England) and the best defence (Seattle), with all the razzmatazz and colour this event brings. When the Vince Lombardi trophy is handed out around 3am, it will signal the end of a near 24 hours of non-stop sporting action for tv viewers, with 3 cup finals, a semi-final, and some good league action along the way. I for one cant wait for it all to start, and I just hope above all hope that what would, in any other era, be the main event for me at 1.30 in the south side of my home town amongst these global events attracting the best part of a billion viewers, and is on Sunday a bit part story, doesnt spoil this day of all sporting days. So come on England, Murray, Rangers for a treble that would have me positively gushing and have me remembering the 1st of February 2015 as a unique day when all that is good with the world was put right.
  21. He is giving nothing away because he hasn't a clue if we even have a style of play, if you don't count boring and lethargic!
  22. I read elsewhere that it does say Old Firm in the article, and looking at the layout of the page, it does look like they just didnt have the room to put in another work. Might be worth giving the benefit of the doubt this time, but just because we are paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get us! Myabe that was their way of appeasing both!
  23. Good statement from RST. Coupled with the one from TBO I have just read on the other thread, it seems our various fans groups are all on the same page and have woken up to the reality of the state our club is in. Sunday's game couldn't be less important if it was an end of season rubber match in the bigger picture of where we are.
  24. They are operating separately in the same way that Ashley is a minority shareholder with little influence!!
