So quite clearly we did NOT have an option to buy at £5M. You would have thought this is a fairly simple situation. If we believed we had such an agreement then either a Wilson or the lawyers have messed up. If we didn’t have this agreement then we were lied to. If we DO have such a clause then invoke it or sue Bayern for substantial compo. Just days after our new CEO says it will all be about transparency, let’s hear it.

Nope, if they sell 250 they pay for 250, and we need to take the hit for the other 550 unsold tickets as police wont allow us to make the visiting fans area any smaller in that corner area. I have always been of the mindset that away fans should be in the highest corner of the club deck, out of sight of the tv cameras, and then you can make the area to suit the ticket sales, have a few rows for segregation and be able to sell a few hundred more to our own fans, and having our own fans in that corner (UB perhaps?) Having travelled a lot abroad with our team, the highest ugliest corner of the stadium is almost always where you end up, (including at the piggery of course) so dont know why we provide a lovely wee corner stand area for our opponents.

Any idea when we go back to pre-season training? I know Beale was wanting most of his transfer work done for day 1, it is usually towards the end of June is it not? While I don’t know any of the players we have signed, I am very pleased that now we’ve got rid of the useless Wilson, we no longer take months to close a deal and we have captured a few of our targets early. As with all new signings I don’t know, I don’t care to read their stats or YouTube clips, I wait to watch them in proper action (not friendlies!) to assess them so I wish the newbies well and look forward to our first proper game to see them. Hopefully we are able to strengthen some key areas further and sell a lot of the players deemed unrequired by MB.

John Greig Awarded CBE in HM The King’s Birthday Honours List
Tannochsidebear replied to compo's topic in Rangers Chat
While I bow to my elders who seen him play, I only remember Greig as an absolutely awful manager in the early 80’s. He had 5 seasons as manager after taking over a treble winning side and by the end of his reign we were 5th and were miles behind the bheasts, sheep, and Dundee Utd. 5 titles as a player in 17 years is not a good record either. Posted missing in our troubled years when Sandy Jardine stood tall and fought for us. Never quite understood the “greatest” tag if I’m honest, but again, I have spoken about him to older bears a few times who tell me it’s fitting. No idea why he has got this honour now but congratulations to him and his family, it’s always nice to see one of our own recognised on this scale. -
Match Thread [FT] Rangers 2 (Cantwell 45+3; Sakala 47) - 2 Hearts
Tannochsidebear replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
I wouldnt be playing any of the players leaving. Rangers is bigger than any player. Let them come out at HT or FT (as is suggested above) but MB must use this game to continue to assess who he wants and doesnt want for next season, who works in what positions etc. It matters not a jot about winning this particular game unfortunately, but momentum is important and you always want to finish the season on a good unbeaten run. -
Good performance against a poor Hibs side intent on physicality and encouraged by a compliant referee. Having just read the match thread it amazing to see so many different versions of the same game! Positives for me were Soapy MOTM and Hagi’s emotional goal, delighted for the lad and he’s a top top player who will be huge for us next season. Cantwell & Raskin running the show again. It was a really strange setup for me with 3 deep lying midfielders with Jack & Lundstrum being on the wrong sides. It makes much more sense ( and both look far more comfortable) with Jack on right and Lundstrum on left. Numerous examples of this today forcing us backwards as these guys found themselves on the wrong foot. Young Ridvan has qualities, but is just as bad at defending as Borna. Got badly caught out just before HT which should have led to going in level, and gave the ball away numerous times in our own third under pressure. A lot still to learn. Sakala has good moments but is so far short of the quality we need to win a title and progress in my book. All in all, delighted to get another win, and even more delighted there are now only 2 games left to end this miserable and disastrous season.
-
Cantwell for me too. Raskin too, McCrorie another impressive performance and Souttar our best defender by a distance. I’ve given up on Matondo & Sakala ever being good enough, hope we sell both as part of the “cull” this summer. I will also be raging if we sign Buckland on big money. McCrorie is ready, give him the number 1 jersey and get a cheaper journeyman backup, and spend the money on the areas that need it far more. Perhaps a debate for a different thread.

I think this game matters more to Beale than it does to any of the players. Since coming in he beats everybody apart from one blip at Dolly, but (if a victory is not forthcoming) he cant beat a really bang average timmy team in 5 attempts including 2 at Ibrox and 2 at Hampden then it damages him greatly in the eyes of many. That said, we could win 5-0 tomorrow and it will just be even more frustrating that we couldnt do it in the cup games that really mattered, we only win a dead rubber match so he really cant win. Lose 3-0 tomorrow and we can blame the lack of forwards, a squad on the way out etc but it will still be hanging over MB that he doesnt have what it takes to win the big games. No matter the result tomorrow I think we all agree Beale stays until at least the Autumn, and as he is in full control of the ins and outs this summer and he certainly has mapped out what he wants to get done so he will he judged more on 1 September than 13 May. If we have moved on a lot of deadwood, recruited well, started the season well including winning the first OF game at Ibrox, qualified for the CL then this period will be painful history and he will be fully accepted and I and many others will be apologising to him and delighted to be wrong about him. Fail and he will be dead man walking and wont see Christmas and I will be gutted to be proven right.

Sounds awful. Part of a back 3 which has conceded 58 goals this season as Birmingham finish 17th. Hooked off today after an hour as they are 2 down at home. Why do we continue to try to find players from this god-awful overpriced league? Hopefully just media talk and no truth in it. Our scouting division must have no passports.

A super finish for the winning goal gives the nod to Cantwell ahead of the keeper and the rest were meh.

While mostly irrelevant, my MyGers points got me a ticket for a European away semi final and the final, several domestic cup semis and 2 domestic cup finals. Value for money guaranteed. I will of course renew. Still got both membership packs intact as they are completely worthless and wish the club wouldn’t bother going to the not insignificant expense of making the packs, just admit it’s a charge for access to tickets and be done with it. I’m buying it anyway!
-
Well as you’re a member of a RSC you can ask them, or ask your club secretary to ask them, about these issues, but having been a RSC secretary for over 25 years and had many engagements with the RSA I’m pretty sure that getting increased ticket allocations are number 1 priority and always have been.
-
What a strange coming together. Club 1872, a vehicle to own shares in the club, the RSA who try to get RSC's more tickets, and the UB who sing songs and do displays at games. Each of the three at pretty much going in different directions to each other. I know the RSA didnt consult its membership before either speaking to the others, or issuing this statement, so they will have to answer internally for that. In the real world, this is another look at me statement which most Rangers fans will read and go meh.

Disappointing capitulation but absolutely not a surprise. Must take those chances in first half hour which I thought we were playing quite well up till then. When Sakala goes through one on one I didn’t even get up or get excited, he is so poor in those situations it was inevitable he would hit the keeper. What was sadly more interesting was the utter lack of fight in the last half hour, from the manager right throughout the side. I know the league has been done for weeks but that’s defeats now at the piggery, Hampden and pittodrie where it’s a big mental battle on top of the physical one. Im not a fan of Mr talkalotbutdeliverlittle aka Mick Beale and I’ve said from day 1 of his reign I expect it to be shorter than Gio’s but I’m clutching onto 2 good additions he made in January (he stated he expected 4 but only got 2) and hoping this summer window is productive. I’m more interested in leavers than incoming as we can’t move forward until we get rid of a large number of players and get their wages off our payroll. One meaningful game left this season, one last chance for most.

It's a no from me. They have not come anywhere near close to impartiality in recent times, just read 26th's regular updates for what goes on with that broadcaster. They dont get to slaughter us at every point, then reach out the odd time so they can claim to tick the "balanced" box. I would be informing them that up until now there has been no degree of impartiality, but if they showed over coming weeks and months a bit of balance then perhaps a future appearance would be considered.

When everyone has paid for next season of course!
-
I only want players who are fit and available to play on demand, not having to be managed due to age. If you need to pay an experienced internationalist like Arfield a full time wage, then you should be expecting him able to cope with playing as often as we play. If he cant, then replace with someone who can who may not have the experience, but is available and of similar qualities on the park. I really like Arfield as a player, but these type of players have not worked out well for us in recent years, and I do not believe we have got value for them, and as a result have also stifled youth development into the first team.
-
I think we are going to be paying the price for our summer 22 transactions for a long time. Giving the 3 auld yins another year was bad enough, giving Goldson a double your dough contract was insane, not getting rid of the always injured (Helander, Roofe, Jack, Oforboh) and not selling or renewing the two with resale value (Morelos Kent) and bringing in Matondo, Davies (decent but not at that price) Souttar (injury prone) Ridvan (v.expensive backup & injury prone) and no doubt others i've managed to block out already. This was the main reason I doubted Wilson's ability. This is his main remit, to manage the squad numbers, contracts etc and where necessary to overrule the manager and say you cant give those 4-5 whose contracts expired another deal if you also want to bring in 5-6 new players and only sell 2. Just look at our CL campaign where we had no CH's and had to play a midfielder and a teenager due to the dreadful management of the squad through the summer window. So for this summer, we are not going to be able to right all of these wrongs at once so I will be happy to let those out of contract leave to bring the squad number down, get rid of the ones who are not available often enough or where we have enough cover (so bye bye Kamara Lundstrum Jack from that one position) and try to free up enough wages to bring in a couple of players who instantly improve our first 11 line-up. A new goalkeeper with McCrorie as backup and McGregor (sadly but necessary)& bottle-merchant McLaughlin both away is an essential first step, and then it is just a case of do what we can in this window to try to create a good first 11. I dont expect massive numbers in, but I do expect massive numbers out.

Dont see what being 34 has to do with it. Messi is 35, would you not use him every week?
-
How feckin dare they. If a bear wants to buy a ST , giving a huge amount of cash to Rangers and then doesn’t go to any games, surely that is their right to do so. What if I buy a ST, don’t like what I see and refuse to go back until XYZ happens, how do I effect my protest if the club then take my ticket off me and sell it for the second time to someone else?

I’m satisfied with that line-up. It’s now up to the tactics and desire and fight from the players. If we get that right, we win. Let’s do this! -

I see this as the major influence on the outcome tomorrow. He has twice messed up against the bheasts in his 2 matches against them this season. Poor game management and substitutions in the new year game, and a dreadful selection in the final. Has he learned from this or will we see another overly respectful pine-up which is selected to try to cope with our opponent while ignoring our own strengths and letting them worry about us. I think we will have a fair idea how this game is going to go about an hour before kick off tomorrow. I'll either be just as deflated and anxious as I was on the walk over from Shawlands to Hampden, or right up for it and looking forward to it. If we select the correct line-up and formation, and do not make early mistakes which gift them a goal, then we will be in the hunt for victory, and it may come down to the use of the bench. I really hope Beale has learned the painful lessons and even I will be right behind him if this happens.
