  1. Big Soapy had more saves than Butland and has to be in contention alongside Dessers & Cerny for the goals and Diomande was excellent in the middle. I’m a huge critic of Dessers as he often goes missing in big games so I’ll give him the credit this time for probably his best performance for us and if could just have held up ever so slightly he could have had a never to be forgotten hat-trick.
  2. 0-0 but if we do score it probably will be Dessers
  3. That is quite a team lineup. Bringing Barron back into midfield is a big gamble as he has been quite awful and playing Ridvan in any position is risky too. Glad Souttar is back but with 5 defenders and 3 sitting midfielders we are clearly trying to not get pumped rather than the approach which has worked well for us in Euro away games so far. Fingers crossed this works but I fear the worst.
  4. So that makes it ok then? I am guessing you no longer go to many away games? They are out of control, assume they are bombproof, hardly even watch much of the game, and in my opinion they do more harm than good to the reputation of the club. How many fines have we incurred because of them? Attention seekers that seem to have forgotten/ignored most of our good songs and replaced with copycat dirges that other clubs ultras groups sing and just change the words to fit players that have done nothing to deserve them.
  5. SPFL ruling today that pyro used by the UB at both the league cup SF & Final has breached rules and as a result Rangers will get a reduced allocation at our next Hampden game of 500 tickets. i can only hope the 500 comes straight out of the UB allocation but we all know it won’t so the most selfish group of Rangers fans will now cost 500 Rangers fans to miss our next SF. I’m sure they think it’s worth it to blow some smoke up their own arse.
  6. Classy statement from a classy guy. It didn’t work but for me he was hung out to dry by the board some players and keyboard warriors. Yes tactically it didn’t always work out but I thought he was a good manager. Certainly a massive improvement on the one before and after.
  7. I’m hoping I wake up tomorrow and see it’s April 2nd and this was an elaborate ruse. Seriously, ma-baw Barry, BBC Doddsy et al in charge of Rangers is a real physchodelic mind-feck that not even Jonathan Watson would have dreamed up for only an excuse! While it looked on Saturday that the players had stopped playing for Clement, and so the end was inevitable, if this was the solution dreamed up by Patrick Stewart then he needs beamed up to an outer galaxy before you can say “Engage”. To be fair this stinks of Park and a similar decision to hiring Beale or Caixinha as unless Stewart’s car was set to the rubbish radio station oor Bazza has been taking a coin from recently then I doubt he knew of him and that he had been a failed manager at Kelty & Alloa. Thank goodness I have a hospitality package booked for Rugby Park on Wednesday, we might all need quantities of alcohol to get through the next 3 months.
  8. I was watching the Fenerbahce game last night while at my weekly poker game and I noticed they had two players carded which meant they miss the first leg of our tie. Fred was definitely one, not sure the other. So they wont be at full strength and we have been playing well in away ties, they seem to suit our play at this level quite well. Amazing how we can lose to QP at home, not beat Dundee, St Mirren, Motherwell and Hibs in consecutive away games but be quietly confident of a result against some good European sides! One thing to point out the game will not necessarily be on the Thursdays, as UEFA are indicating 5/6 March and 12/13 March on the draw page on their website. I think times and dates are confirmed tonight.
  9. The defeat to Progres from Luxembourg was and remains the worst result in our entire history in my opinion. I was over there for the match and while I have seen far too many shambolic performances since that one, the level of opponent was ridiculously poor and they didnt even play well to beat us. I do not count the "journey" years as being the real Rangers teams so even truly awful results like Stirling, Alloa from 2-0 up in a cup SF, Raith in a final, and a couple of home losses do not beat Progres in my mind for worst ever. Losing at home to a lower league side in the Scottish Cup with the league already lost is really really bad and cannot be excused and it should cost the manager his job. If this doesnt, then there is no lower bar to go to.
  10. Can anyone tell me what was the point of bringing in Fernandes on loan for 5 months and not even have him in the squad as backup defender given how thin on the ground we are there? Surely we don’t need him to play St Mirren etc? When money is extremely tight this seems like a huge waste.
  11. Appreciate the response. I get that these were the players that came to mind, similar to my own selections. I find it rather sad that in my own team there are only two players that would make it from the last 20 years, and both were tough picks and could have been replaced by a few from previous eras. What of the Rangers fans under 30 who have grown up maybe at the end of Walter's second stint and into the lower leagues struggles and beyond? The best players in the last 12 years or so wouldnt get anywhere near our teams of yesteryear, and as we havent won anything of note it is hard for the more recent players to gain idol or cult status, so there is a whole generation of Rangers fans that are growing up following an entirely different kind of club to those of us who grew up following winners and legends. Hopefully it is not too long before we can be back on top and winning titles again and the younger fans get to experience what we did.
  12. Fav player Godrup fav players to make a team McGregor Stevens Weir Gough Numan Laudrup McCall Gazza Albertz McCoist Boyd
  13. Very interesting line up, obviously the era you grew up with. But are you really saying there is not one player in the last 40-50 years that you have liked more than that 60’s era? Can’t make my mind up if that is really amazing, really sad or just staunch😂
  14. Well seeing he is a Rangers player now, he is apparently injured and misses the Dundee game at the piggery tonight. He’ll fit right in!
  15. Tend to agree with this. Cant see him breaking into this team and adding value, but obviously hope that he can. Haven't been overly impressed with his performances against us this season, but all the very best to the young man.
  16. Not quite - it will be one of two with the draw being at 1pm on Friday. For example if we come 9th or 10th we play 23rd or 24th. 11th and 12th play 21st and 22nd etc. Lower seed away first on 13th Feb and home leg second on 20th Feb. All the info on Uefa website here: https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/draws/
  17. I'm sorry but no striker that misses a blatant open goal at 0-0 (not the first time he has done it either) and has 3 one on one chances with the keeper but somehow doesnt even get a shot away in 2 of them will get a MOTM vote from me, even if he does manage to score 3 of the dozen or so chances he had. I actually think that was one of his worst performances for us, and yet he got a hat-trick. Crazy game!
