weve not seen lafferty up front yet u never know we might get a pleasent suprise and he might bang all sorts of goals in, remember he has been playing out on the left which lets face a 6ft 4 out on the wing is never going to work so all am saying is give him a chance and see what happens. i admit the big man has been pish to say the least on the left but just give him a chance for 6 or so games with miller up front if boydy goes. right i now officially open the doors for pelters to be thrown at me lol.

Former Rangers striker Peter Lovenkrands has had his contract with Bundesliga club Schalke terminated by mutual consent. from sky sports news. This was just on the sky sports news centre so they are obviously more on the ball than schalkes official website!

Agree with you craig on 95% of your points there, but i really dont think it is the best route to go down to sell players like bougherra, davis and mendes i think they are the backbone of the team and of course boyds goals. yes the team does need a bit of a freshen up infact the club needs freshened up but i just think we should be doing everything in our power to ensure that the backbone of the team is there. If we were to lose the players mentioned then smith and the backroom staff go along with a few others it would take a good bit of time for the club to get back on track and i am not being defeatist when i make this next comment but i could actualy see the tims stretching towards 8,9 mibay even 10 in a row because the 1 thing they have at the moment is stability.

Reports on bbc scotland sport is that the clause is 20% so if we get 4m for boydy killie get £800,000 thats a lot of cash to be giving away when we are supposedly in a financial meltdown. It must be bain that negotiates these clauses in the contract but for a player we bought for £400,000 i think it would have made better sense to pay killie £600,000 and forget about a clause, because surely its a foregone conclusion that if were signing a player that was scoring goals for fun at killie his price tag was always going to rise when he came us.

Peter Lovenkrands and Albert Streit have been dropped from the senior squad, the club announced on Monday. General manager Andreas M¼ller and head coach Fred Rutten told the players at lunchtime that they would train with the second team with immediate effect. "This decision has been made solely for footballing reasons. Both players have said in the past that they would like to leave the club. We still have ambitious goals to achieve in the second half of the season. To do so, we need players who are totally focused on Schalke, extract the maximum from themselves and relish the battle for places rather than wishing they were somewhere else", explained M¼ller. Schalke 04 II resume training this Thursday. Carlos Grossm¼ller's situation remains unchanged and the Uruguayan will also continue to train with the second team, who play in the fourth-tier Regionalliga. This is the official report from the shalke 04 website. he hasnt been released from his contract he has just been (aiden mcgeadyed) droped to the reserves.

David Healy's agent insists his client is not clamouring for a New Year departure from Sunderland. The Black Cats striker has been strongly linked with a move to SPL giants Rangers. He has failed to start a single Premier League game for the North East outfit since joining them from Fulham at the start of the season. Reports had suggested that Gers boss Walter Smith was lining up the Northern Ireland international as a possible replacement for Kris Boyd, who is poised to join Birmingham. However, Healy's representative Stephen Hughes claims there is no substance to those rumours. "I have heard nothing. We are not engineering anything," he said. "I spoke to Sunderland earlier this week and nothing was mentioned. from sky sports news centre. We obviously have not made the approach that so many reports had made out, i think if boyd goes but you will see healy at rangers on loan i would expect.

Ill join carldvelle but not to sure about the railings if there steel murray would probarly sell u stuck to them!

Unconvined by a player who has scored 21,22 in the first half of the season and has only played 22 games u must be having a laugh mate. While i agree his all round play and his mobility isnt the greatest his scoring exploits are out of this world. u take boyds goals out of that team what does it leave us? not very much. name another striker around europe or maybe even the world at 25 years of age that can if fit GUARNTEE us 30 plus goals a season, u would be strugling i think cotter.
-
Totally agree with u shroomz. all i was pointing out was the power of the money men inside our club. if someone said a year before we would get 9mil for hutton lets be honest we would all having be laughing it off.
-
At the end of the day leppard whether boyd wants to go or not in the end sadly its not his decesion i know alan hutton didnt want to go and i know that for a fact. exact same circumstances alan had just settled in a new home in hurlford just a had a new baby and another kid at 3, the last thing he wanted was to leave he was a right ayrshire boy the same as boyd and in the end his hand was pushed. he was offered an extra £14,500 a week and he was still willing to stay at rangers but he went and was told whatever he was told by Murray and Bain.
-
Don't think it would have mattered craig whether we reached the cl or not i still think in this situation Mr murray would have ordered boyd to have been sold regardless. This is maybe his time to recoup all the money over the years (well the advocaat years) he spent. I also agree with u and ascender that we are becoming the the new tims, its now the biscuit tin mentallity for us and its sad. I wonder whether they will reduce the season ticket prices next season as were not going to be watching a high quality of football. I very much doubt somehow.
-
what i was getting at is craig, your saying velicka is in boyds mould but i just cant see what u are seeing i cant really remember how many goals velicka scored at hearts but i don't think he could be classed as a predator the way way boyd is. and while i totally agree with you that smith spent way over the odds in the summer without really strengthing areas that should have been strengthed i dont think that selling boyd can make up for that, i think it would be a far worse business move because we have just through our league chances away and yet again if we are going to make it into the cl we need to do it the hard way.
-
I dont blame eck 1 little bit. he has been away from us for nearly 4 year now and he obviously sees what he did when he first signed boyd and what smith hasnt seen for most of his time here that boyd is 1 of the most lethal strikers in britain. Eck must be sitting rubbing his hands as he knows he is getting a far better kris boyd than the 1 he signed and is getting him for a song.
-
with all due respect mate velicka 29 or 30 boyd hasnt even peaked yet as hw is only 24 or 25, naismith, lafferty or velicka are not proven goalscorers either.
-
Words cant describe how i am feeling right now. this is a major major blow for us the 1 man that is keeping our title hopes alive with the goals he is scoring is now going to be sold for peanuts. where else on this planet are u going to find a player that can guarntee us 30 plus a season for 3 or 4 million. weve took a major step back in the past few or more seasons, bain and murray need to take a long hard look at themselves and see where they are taking this once great club because we are going to end up in the doldrums. IT IS A FUCKING DISGRACE AND DARK DARK TIMES FOR OUR ONCE PROUD CLUB!
-
Just watched the gazza programme there and it was a fucking disgrace. If this was engineered to heLP Paul i would hate to see what they are capable of doing if they wanted to punish him. They have turned that young 12 year old boy against him something bad and if gazza watched it he must be at his lowest ebb right now. i just think that they have publicly humilated him and as for that wee slut bianca and they crocodile tears she was in the papers a year ago selling stories about her upbringing with gazza and slated him for a measley few grand, now she is on t.v trying "HELP HIM" bullshit they've lived off him for years, live in his house, live off his name, now they are trying to shaft the poor guy. GET WELL SOON GAZZA THE LEGEND LIVES ON!

I wonder if something behind the scenes has happened with hemdani as i seem to remember he was getting used as a centre half in europe a couple of seasons back and i cant remember him doing to much wrong. he is a big lad and was fairly good in the air. his distribution has always been good and is a good reader of the game, so when big boughy got injured he couldve been brought in, but no instead of using him we plump for lee mculloch. its all a bit strange but i suppose its just the norm for us nowadays.
-
he can be abysmal all season if he scores 2 goals a game.
-
I would take him back. we dont have anyone with his pace who can run at defenders and get his fair share of goals. i know it only seemed he played well when his contract was coming to an end but after a spell in the bundesliga he may come back a better all round player. even if we gave him a 1 year deal to see how he settled back in if there is no fee for him take the gamble!

Rangers put £7.5million price tag on keeper McGregor
gavin3084 replied to johnnyk's topic in Rangers Chat
Agree 100% alexander did nothing wrong to be droped and when he has come he has done a fine job. last season when greegsy got his injury alexander came in and done a great job aswell. i would be very suprised if a club didnt come in for him this month as we got him for a steal and i think has value has soared over the past year.- 15 replies

happy new year fellow bluenoses. heres hoping for sucess in 2009! WATP:rfc:

i agree since broadfoot and papac are to natural centre halfs they dont have great pace and they are not entirely attack minded. altough i have been impressed with papac going forward this season for someone who is not a left back he has done a decent job in there for us big kirk is doin a job aswell but as far as narrowing the midfield goes i just dont think we are in a position to do that we dont have the players at the club at the moment to do that. even if we did i dont think its pretty to watch your always more liable to breakdown defences with natural wingers.
