  1. Well done him. I suspect DrStu's degree and Phd in Drama and English will have to be employed again? What PQ Producer will be het?
  2. "it has to be said". Jonathon Sutherland began the match discussion of ra Sellik against St Johnstone by stating, "we were all there yesterday, there was such a joyous atmosphere among the Celtic fans". Sportscene decided NOT to show the Green Brigade's banner unfurled at the same time as the League Championship flag was being unfurled by the widows of Billy McNeill and Stevie Chalmers. The GB banner read, 'to keep celtic down, you will have to deport the whole f-e-nian army that gives them support'. We do not know the Editor that made such a decision because Sportscene is the only show on TV that does NOT run credits. It has to be said. As Sutherland laid further accusations against Rangers supporters for sectarian chanting, he did not differentiate between the Billy Boys and the Killie Boys. We know both sets of supporters were celebrating wading up to their knees through blood. You could choose between fe-nian and Ayr United blood? Wait a minute, the word fe-nian is utilised by the Green Brigade, although the unknown Editor of Sportscene has chosen not to highlight that. Rangers supporters are not allowed to sound their opposition to the fe-nian army, so it's about ownership of that particular word? The Sportscene Editor must provide clarity on this matter, particularly if the useful idiot, Sutherland is up for throwing around accusations. It has to be said, who is the Sportscene Researcher? PQ knows the most telling accusation against themselves is their intentional lack of balance. They have decided to cover themselves by introducing VoxPops. They are giving every SPFL Premiership teams' fans a say after matches. Sportscene's Researcher delivered, 'CJnovo992'? Who is he, does anyone know him, is he aware of the ongoing five year situation between BBC Scotland and Rangers/Rangers supporters? I hope CJnovo992 checks the reaction of both Thommo and Mikey after his spiel, they are pissing themselves. Like Sutherland, CJnovo992 is another useful idiot. This coming Sunday, PQ will send their VoxPop team along the Govan Road, asking to speak to Rangers supporters crossing either of the footbridges. It's essential to maintain their veneer of balance. I would ask fellow Bears to remain polite and courteous, point out you pay a BBC license fee but do not receive the same service provided to all other Scottish football fans. Offer no other comment. It has to be said.
  3. Frankie, I am aware of the situation. I believe Chris McLaughlin was aware of the situation too, before heading down to Kilmarnock to record a clearly spiteful interview. We know PQ will pick up any stick to beat Rangers and Rangers supporters, to exploit a domestic situation to get a firm grip on that stick ............................. ? As a Director of Killie, Phyllis McLeish deliberately waved bye bye to revenues of just under £300,000 by denying the Moffat Stand to Rangers supporters. They were applauded and encouraged to repackage, 'Sell Out Saturday' by PQ. Again, it has failed. I hope Rangers refuse to take extra tickets when Killie come back(and they will) after they look at their bottom line. They can pass the bucket at PQ to help Killie. We know by that time, PQ will have moved on to the next stick.
  4. I believe Rugby Park's capacity is 18,000. Yesterday's attendance was a tad over 9,000. Thus, whatever the price of a ticket times 9,000.
  5. Forlanssister, In total agreement. 1. It should all be reported. 2. They should all face the consequences, lives are being endangered.
  6. Now, that is a find. It has to be said, I do not remember Trial by Sportscene on that particular clip? Ian, could you please find time to post that clip on the PQ Musings thread? Thank-you.
  7. "it has to be said". I was watching BBC Scotland's evening news and they showed Aberdeen's third and winning goal against Hearts at Pittodrie yesterday. It's a fine flowing move that sees the ball delivered across the Hearts box, new signing Ryan Hedges appears from nowhere and slams the ball high into the net. It's a winner with three minutes left on the clock, Hedges runs straight to the Dick Donald stand and embraces two Dandy Dons fans at the retaining wall. One of the Dandies is carrying an eighteen month old child in his arms, the child is smiling. Then, Andrew Considine jumps on to Hedges back and his torso covers the entire child. Other fans and players join in and a rolling ruck is in motion as the footage is guillotined. I believe Hedges was booked for his actions, but what happened to that child? You didn't mention this on Sportscene last night Jonathon, you were too busy gushing at the goal machine, Sam Cosgrove. Since goal celebrations are a la mode, was this a responsible action Jonathon? It has to be said.
  8. "it has to be said". Above is the phrase Jonathon Sutherland uses on Sportscene as a preamble to accusations against Rangers supporters. Yesterday's match at Kilmarnock has been BBC Scotland's main news item today, even surpassing claims by a Trade Unionist that the new Edinburgh Sick Kids hospital might be partly torn down, before opening. I have no doubt the BBC Scotland newsroom will blame Rangers supporters for problems in the £150 million hospital's ventilation and drainage as soon as a Sub-Editor can write, 'shoddy H-u-n workers attempt to asphyxiate and drown sick kids'? The lunch time bulletin reported Police Scotland have made four arrests. The Justice System has set it's wheels in motion and that's how it should be. I hope the wheelchair bound supporters inside the destroyed shelter have given the necessary statements. Sub Judice prevents me from saying more at this time. Last week, in all pre-season discussions the PQ Gang Hut to a man chorused, 'all the pressure is on Rangers'. Trial by Sportscene served up a spoonful or two of pressure, then the newsroom sent a camera crew and interviewer to the wilds of Ayrshire to deliver pressure and two veg'. The turnip for the books was Killie's Chief Executive, Phyllis McLeish. A clearly anxious Phyllis was dry swallowing as she looked down the camera, it appeared Auntie Beeb was running interference on her Prosecco time? However, Phyllis delivered, she blamed Rangers players for crowd disruption, "they were all running towards the Rangers support", after notching a ninetieth minute winner. Further, none of this was Killie's fault, "Kilmarnock FC cannot be blamed". BBC Scotland did not inform the viewers whether they had approached Rangers? Well, I don't know. Are Rangers players allowed to celebrate last minute winners? We know that Rangers players are not allowed to celebrate mid second half winners, Andy Halliday was red carded for pumping his fist in the middle of the Cappielow centre circle. You see, if Rangers players are allowed to celebrate last minute clinchers, then the BBC manufactured pressure cooker must be removed from the hob. At the end of May, Killie defeated Rangers with a 93rd minute penalty. Brophy slotted it home and wheeled away to the corner of the Main and Moffat Stands, where the Killie fans were wildly celebrating. February this year, Scott Brown scored a 90th minute winner at Rugby Park in front of ra Sellik supporters in the Chadwick. He jumped the hordings and embraced several of the dozens of pitch invading Bhoys. Trial by Sportscene cleared these actions, emotional game, adrenaline fueled, ..... etc. It has to be said - Killie defeated Rangers in the first game after the winter break. The Chief Executive, Phyllis McLeish celebrated inappropriately. The wife of Alan, owner of Killie's main sponsor, the QTS group; was stopped by the police and breathalysed. She was twice the legal limit. The pressure is on BBC Scotland to explain their grim determination to elevate a sports item to top of their news agenda. Particularly, when similar last minute winners that have inspired pitch invasions have not made it on to general news, let alone top item. It has to be said.
  9. Leadership is a lonely place. Reactions to conceding or scoring goals may or may not be an indicator of leadership qualities. Further, we should be careful reference demanding our Gaffer being seen to display accepted forms of leadership. I prefer a leader as opposed to someone toting an Equity Card.
  10. We have played our get out of free jail card. The entire second half, we trundled the ball from side to side
  11. Due respect and all that, but no Rangers player has any experience on today's pitch. It was laid during the close season, it's a new pitch.
  12. There have been four Compliance Officers, all RC. We can only assume that Peter Lawwell cannot find a non-RC good enough to hold the designation?
  13. After NOT providing a match preview, BBC's calamity continues; their website has the result of our game : 0-0. Below the score, it has the breakdown of ; Half-time 0-0, and aggregate 0-2. Then, it tells us : Extra time being played. Just another honest PQ mistake? Maybe Michael Stewart has ordered extra time?
  14. The last ten/fifteen minutes, we had three/four solid opportunities to finish it, and it was a lack of composure each and every time. I hope we have no injured players? Rugby Park will be much tougher.
  15. It took until the 35th minute before we forced their keeper into a save. The only time we worked their keeper in the entire 45 minutes. We are not getting in behind Progres, we are playing in front of them. I suspect the surface is not the best; however, surely we can move the ball quicker, particularly when moving between their lines? Barisic has been cautioned, been involved in another couple of minor incidents since. Prudent management would suggest we substitute him before a situation is manufactured.
  16. I think we are forgetting our experience of last season. After every game, no matter who referees, BBC Scotland's Michael Stewart will re-referee the match. Who will be the first Rangers player highlighted by Michael to be cited by the Compliance(Compliant) Officer this season?
  17. Viva Espanyol. The last time Rangers played Barcelona in the Champions League, I attended with the other estimated 25,000 Rangers supporters. My hotel was just west of the Placa de Catalunya, the northern side of the square had the biggest el Corte Ingles department store. It dominated the entire side of the square, a several floor department store. Given there was a Barca FC club store situated on the west side of the placa, I was surprised to find el Corte Ingles had an entire floor given over to FC Barcelona. I asked at information where I could purchase FC Espanyol merchandise? I was directed to the second basement floor, to the Haberdashery Department. There were two carousels selling key rings, lighters, and pens in Espanyol colours. The Catalans had decided to ignore a football club that regularly attracted in excess of 40,000 supporters. Today's BBC Ceefax has twelve pages on this evening's matches involving British clubs in European action. Two and three page coverage of Crusaders against Wolves, Aberdeen versus Chikhura, Linfield's tie with Torshavn, and Nomads second leg with Partizan Belgrade. There is no preview of Progres against Rangers. Just another example of the BBC taking our dosh and providing little or no service in return. We are confined to the key ring carousel.
  18. Today, Club 1872 issued a statement on the ongoing issues between Rangers/Rangers supporters and BBC Scotland. I have asked the Mods to include a copy of the statement on to this thread to ensure continuation of the ongoing narrative. We know the upper management at PQ are strict adherents of George Orwell's writings and practice, 'some are more equal than others'. The Club 1872 statement includes the following three sentences : 'Senior production staff at BBC Scotland, including their Head of Corporate Affairs, Ian Small, have been presented with evidence that BBC Scotland are regularly using a contributor who has used social media platforms to publish sectarian comments and hate speech towards Rangers supporters. BBC Scotland regularly presents this contributor as a neutral commentator on a number of news and current affairs programmes, despite senior staff being aware of the history mentioned above. This is just one indicator of the scale of the cultural issues within Pacific Quay'. Talking of Angela Haggerty, she appeared once again on Sherren Nanjiani's Saturday morning show on BBC Radio Scotland. When fellow Journo, Lyra McKee was shot dead by the IRA three months past, Angela disappeared from broadcast means for a few weeks. It was uncomfortable , she cannot admit her balaclava clad heroes, the IRA murdered a fellow Journalist. Regularly, Angela mentions her own difficulties whilst doing her job, she was viciously trolled by a bigot, he was arrested, charged, tried and sentenced to a custodial term. Compare with the investigation into Lyra Mckee's murder, no arrests. I note the IRA have erected signs at the scene of the young Irish journo's murder, "informers will be shot". Perhaps Angela will call it out? On Saturday, Shereen asked the weekly question, "your moment of the week"? Think of all the world events occurring this last week, Angela chose the rehabilitation of Leigh Griffiths at Sellik Park, scoring against Estonian opposition. She eulogised Griffith's employers for their patience and doing the right thing in providing the proper assistance. She highlighted the point where Leigh emerged from the darkness into the light, "he scored a goal, a free-kick, and what a goal, a screamer". She told of her fellow supporters empathising with Leigh and his sobbing tears of victory over depression. Angela failed to acknowledge Leigh's conviction for racism, tweeting Zak Iqbal to go back to his own country, his singing a song about Rudi Scakcel and clothes pegs, his taunting of Linfield fans, his ........ etc. Angela has a problem and BBC Scotland should provide the necessary assistance.
  19. To ensure a continuation of the narrative, can one of the Mods post the above statement on the Pacific Quay Musings thread? Thank-you.
  20. I thought the first 30 minutes belonged to Derby, Huddleston is the biggest unit I think I have seen in a football strip. The remaining hour was ours, and some. It was one going on three or four. The best result and performance I have witnessed reference Rangers against a Derbyshire club.
  21. Okay, I'll bite. 1. Souness won the title and the League Cup in his first season. The second season, we won the league cup on panalties. 2. Colin Stein scored a perfectly good second goal for Rangers in the final, controversially ruled offside. 3. I saw Greig play several positions, including keeper and centre forward. 4. That particular evening in Florence, I was both tired and extremely emotional.
  22. It's time we had a female announcer.
  23. Last night was similar to Sunday's game against Blackburn Rovers. On Sunday, we lost shape and organisation because I think, Steve Davis being removed. Last night, Davis was in part to blame. In a mad minute both he and Goldson played a cross field flick and pass, both intercepted and the ball went out to in twice. Progress played a back six during the second half, with a diamond in front. Waiting and hoping for the misplaced or intercepted pass, the ball quickly went out to either flank, and back in to the running centre. It was the diamond we could not control, hence Halliday making three/four face saving tackles. Overall, it was positive, an excellent first half. The second period saw a quick goal then a penalty award. The second the ball his the post, the paragraph above became the issue.
  24. The Fellowship of the Ring. My village had a Library, the Librarian was most keen on encouraging children to read. This is over half a century past, national libraries launched a scheme to monitor under twelves reading habits. It was called the Good Reader, effort was rewarded by the award of seven differently coloured badges emboldened by lettering, GR1 to GR7. You were handed a book by the Librarian and had a fortnight to read it, then you were brought in to present a synopsis and answer several questions on the narrative. At the age of ten, I was presented with the Hobbit as my final read. I had no empathy with the characters and thought Tolkien's prose to be drier than a stick. Later, I found out Tolkien had penned the tome specifically for the entertainment of his son, John. His favourable reaction led to publication, the few surviving first editions contain JRR's dedication to his eldest. John Tolkien became a Priest and for a number of decades was constantly moved between parishes in Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry, and Stoke. It's a well told tale, familiar to us all, a journey to there and back again. John Tolkien passed away before prosecution, but the current English Cardinal, Vincent Nichols authorised a £15,000 payment to one of Fr John's accusers. The journey is well documented; targeted, gaining trust, affection, isolation, sexualisation, maintaining control. It is a serious business and demands organisation. An organisation within an organisation, a Gang Hut is necessary to deal with the fall out. Spreading the blame, off loading guilt, ridiculing accusers, offering an occasional apology for a bad egg, assuring promotions as rewards, blaming the victims, denial, ............... etc. There has to be management imbued with foresight and penetrative thought. Remember the oxpecker and the hippo, that symbiotic relationship? Those currently having fun need those that have enjoyed fun in the past and been moved/promoted, and vice-versa; such mutual support ensures perpetuity of fun continues. Another three or four years passed before I read Lord of the Rings and similarly, by midway through the second book of the trilogy, I was Bored of the Rings. The Gollum character became a niggle. JRR Tolkien was a devout catholic and it's surprising that all four tomes contain no mention of faith. No higher power, no one to beseech. I think Gollum is the closest, he is a Jiminey Cricket, part conscience; and it is he that falls into Mordor's lava stream, having successfully been re-acquainted with his precious. At the start of this week, Chris McLaughlin was in Japan, previewing next year's Tokyo Olympics. The new BBC Scotland second channel has a £30-odd million budget, Chris deserves his reward. Watching Mount Fuji in the background, I thought, here's hoping, but I doubt Chris has a conscience? The hidden hand of the Gang Hut served up Gollum's sister(I didn't read that in the books), the crystal gazer and inner-buzz rocker, Constance appeared throughout last weekend. Connie hosted Off the Ball, shared presentation duties with Geof Webster on Sunday, and obeyed her Producers. Interestingly, in 25 years of Off the Ball, Gollum has never appeared, refused to participate. Connie gets to host the show. Her co-presenter was Ray Bradshaw(Thistle), her guests were Mark Wilson, a Killie fan and a Dandy Don. They had lots of fun. Connie knows it's the exposure that counts and she raised the following for discussion : past Sellik strips, her fave-rave Sellik strip, a fox on the pitch at Sellik Park, Danny Fox, Sellik in Sarajevo, CR Smith tops, and my fave-rave, Connie's disappointment and in her opinion Sellik's worse Euro result, ra Bhoys only defeating TNS 8-0. The Producer shouted, "BALANCE" and Alfredo Morelos was mentioned twice and Connie told us he was for the off, twice. More balance in the second hour had Connie going round the table, the thirty second consensus was we will be second, then it back to the fun. The second part of the show(the evening part) had James Grady as Connie's guest, BALANCE? Finally on Sunday, Connie was screaming, "who can begrudge Shane Lowry this victory", as the man himself strolled towards his final putt? I am hoping Connie can BALANCE that one. Talking of BALANCE, who at PQ took the decision NOT to send along a reporter to cover Rangers launch of 'Everywhere, Anywhere, Everyone, Anyone'? The midweek Euro action had full commentary from both Sellik Park and Georgia, from the usual Abertic crew. Last Week, Killie at Rugby Park had Killie fan, John Barnes doing the commentary. Rangers at Ibrox last evening had next to nothing ie full text updates on BBC Scotland's website. The barbs about license fees and no service are troubling, last night we were given the teams at Ibrox after the Aberdeen game; further, we had a two minute vox-pop conducted next to the Ibrox ticket office. "Rangers fans sound optimistic", offered Big Dick. Then, it was back to the fun of promoting Sam Cosgrove as the goal machine. Vox-pops and text updates, they're isolating us and fcuking with us. In this calendar year, I think BBC Scotland have issued four apologies to Rangers and Rangers supporters.
  25. Neil has a piece in today's Herald, 'Five things we learned as Celtic breeze through Estonian test'. Number two of things learned is, 'Celtic shouldn't have to play Euro-qualifiers'. He utilises four paragraphs to explain ra Sellik are just too good for the standard of opposition. I don't think ra Sellik being special will cut it with UEFA? Of course, Neil should provide some pertinent evidence to support his emotive plea. It's akin to his take on Rangers and diversity, "okay, we know a few left footers slipped through the net". This is stated to assuage his obvious reluctance in describing Rangers signing of MoJo as, "the first high profile RC". As stated before, Rangers signed as many RCs in their first fifty years as other Scots clubs(outside those clubs deliberately founded to play RCs ie ra Sellik, Hibs, Dundee Hibs, ..... etc). I believe during Bill Struth's tenure, four RCs did slip through the nets? Clearly, it was Struth from 1919 that imposes a non RC signing policy. Why? I penned an article nearly two decades past that attempted to explain the then reasoning, NOT to excuse the policy. Struth and Wilton were both Commissioned Officers in the Royal Army Medical Corps. They worked throughout WW1 and in Struth's case, for nearly a decade after the Armistice. Dealing with multiple soldiers' and their horrific mutilating wounds(physical and cerebral). After WW1, those soldiers in particular felt keen betrayal reference the events in Dublin during 1916. It was in their terms, a stab in the back. I believe Struth solicited soldiers he was helping to restore. Further, I believe it was an unacceptable and inexcusable action? Now, Neil Cameron could do some research but he is lazy. He prefers to sit extremely comfortably with his preferred prejudice. However, the facts are out there, Neil has had to move his position from Rangers NEVER signed a catholic until MoJo, to he is the first high profile RC. The current position will not hold for much longer either.
