  1. The 3rd round draw for the Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup has been made, and Rangers Colts are to visit Ballymena United on the 7th/8th September. In my professional life I had cause to visit Ballymena Library, some thirty-odd years past. I remember they had a small Periodicals section dominated by copies of Tractor Monthly. Any Gersnetters intending to enjoy the trip, be prepared for the throbbing purrs of tantalising Tractors.
  2. The Tom Tom Club. I was trawling through BBC Scotland's output from last evening and kept returning to an attempted rallying cry from the Limerick Buttermilk, Tom English : "We've been love-bombing Celtic for all of their goal threat and football. Now, they need to play with a lot of mental strength. We know they're good footballers, but are they good enough to operate under this kind of pressure. We will find out in the next forty-five minutes". It was issued at half-time, the score at that point was 0-1. There is considerable emotional investment in the above call, I hope Tom tells us if it had the desired effect?
  3. Today's broadcast schedule on BBC Radio Scotland. Nimrod by Elgar until further notice.
  4. Ra Sellik consensus appears to be McGregor at left back was a poor selection, and ten million quid of defensive talent sitting on the bench. I take it they are referring to Julian and Bolingoli? Where is Martin Comtor when you need him? Let's hope tonight's result does not tip Leigh Griffiths back into depression?
  5. Quite right, how many chorused, 'Sellik should not have to play CL qualifiers"?
  6. Okay, let's get a wee bit serious, stop the laughing at the back. It is ten past ten, twenty minutes after the game finished at Sellik Park, and that's after the Ref allowed six minutes of injury time. BBC Scotland just stopped broadcasting. The PQ Gang Hut has decanted to the the Admiral Bar in Waterloo Street. What a shower of thin skinned cnuts?
  7. Tom English says, "Celtic scored three goals, they should have scored more". Pat Bonner says, "The Champions League is a game". Emerald Isle philosophy negates to inform us that the champions league is a game of Clujo, and ra Sellik are out.
  8. Tom says to Pat in the Gang Hut, "Celtic are so good creatively". Hey Tom, the final result in your own midden is FC Cludgie 3 FC Cluj 4.
  9. It gets better for the Rangers. Our Colts won 0-2 at Stair Park, and ra green'n'grey youngsters lost out on penalties at Falkirk. It's the caramel on my wafer.
  10. It's a clanging bell and tumble weed in the PQ Gang Hut. Tom English is distraught. The turnips will be playing Swedes next to qualify for the Europa Cup. Conceding four goals at home, Neil has got ra green'n'grey going in the right direction. What about the coefficient?
  11. I believe he decided to spend more time with his wife.
  12. It's from Peter 1, 2, and 3. I believe Ryan is a devout RC? Beware of false prophets, Ryan believes he has been betrayed. Let's hope he doesn't get all Old Testament about it.
  13. Sportscene was perfectly fair to Rangers last evening. However, Michael Stewart was once again given license to savage Craig Levein, without defence from either host or fellow pundit, Thompson. It's not our fight, but it highlights Stewart's capacity for holding a grudge.
  14. I attended the game and thought Hibs centre, Joe Newell's challenge was a shocker. Extended leg, flat of the boot on to Ryan Jack's standing leg.
  15. Frankie, Eamonn Donohoe is the Producer of Sportscene, I do not know if the mother and child in Sellik strips during the opening credits are his wife and son. I know he has a wife and young son. Donohoe has been at PQ since 2012/13, arrived as a Reporter/Producer from RTE. He was given an elevated role in BBC Scotland's coverage of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014. There has been a change in coverage of Rangers and Rangers supporters this season, anything positive like yesterday's result and performance is played with a gritted teeth straight bat. Anything negative or anything where a negative perception can be utilised ie last week's Killie celebrations, then everybody on message piles in to administer a good kicking. There is already a lack of professionalism reference content and that is the show's Producer's remit. Last week's Green Brigade banner reference, 'Fen-ian Army' and Saturday's sectarian chanting at Fir Park have been deliberately ignored. Jonathon Sutherland is ambitious and is willing to point the finger at us, he knows such conduct has led to PQ promotions in the past. Another change is the coverage of Sellik's CL assault. The guy who wants the Producer of Sportscene gig next, is Martin Dowden. He has spent the last two decades climbing both BBC Scotland ladders of reporting and production. These last couple of years he was assigned BBC North East and has pushed on Tyrone Smith. Annie McGuire was always anxious to enhance Dowden's PQ credentials, "he's a really good Sellik man". This season, Dowden has traveled with Pat Bonner to Sarajevo, Estonia, and Romania. If Sellik survive to the CL group stages, the budget will be increased to facilitate Dowden, Bonner, and Tom English. There are already voices inside PQ noting the continuing rise in the Irish colony. I think we should hear voices from all over the British Isles, but it's becoming noted there is a distinct lack of Welsh, and English regional accents being broadcast. I have heard there was seething rage at last week's Rangers supporting blogger pulling out, claiming he was duped. It reminds me of a dozen years past with the RST's David Edgar. An arranged tete-a-tete with Spiers and Edgar in the studio was deliberately pulled forward. Edgar was in central station, constant tannoy announcements running interference, the rush hour, ....etc. Spiers sat in the studio and took advantage. The PQ/Rangers relationship is constantly choreographed and micro managed; Phyllis McLeish will tell you that.
  16. D'Art, Do you know who was the Match Comander? Given the coverage of events, I am surprised no one has approached him/her for assessment.
  17. Interesting results in this season's Challenge Cup. Brora Rangers have thrashed Aberdeen under 21s 6-0. Elgin City win 3-4 at Easter Road. Kelty Hearts have stung Killie under 21s 4-0. Livi under 21s have lost at home 1-3 to Formartine. St Johnstone gubbed at home 1-4 by Cove Rangers. Queens Park currently drawing 2-2 with ra Sellik. Full time at Shieldhall, Berwick 1 Rangers 2.
  18. Ten minutes to go, and Berwick are reduced to ten men; however, have pulled one back through Purves.
  19. We are leading 0-2 at half time. Mebude and McPake are our scorers.
  20. Killie Supporters Association Chair just on BBC Radio Scotland, blamed Rangers fans for everything and demands points deduction. I disagree with the dehumanisation of Rangers supporters and I disagree with BBC Radio Scotland providing the platform to vent such hatred. However, I agree with the points deduction, Killie were the club hosting and thus responsible. Killie on minus three points then?
  21. BBC Scotland's website carried a report on this womens old firm match on Sunday evening. They informed us that the Celtic Coach, Eddie Wolecki Black asked the Green Brigade to attend the East Kilbride ground. BBC Scotland further informed, "they brought considerable colour and noise" to the match. The sectarian and misogynistic abuse involving the Green Brigade is being prominently reported in the Daily Record, the Scottish Sun, the Herald, and Evening Times. BBC Scotland are so far failing to mention the story. Still, that's consistent because they failed to carry any mention of the Green Brigade's, 'Fe-nian Army' banner on Sunday.
  22. Why doesn't Tom contact the Match Commander? Who was the Match Commander? The Match Commander could clear up a lot of genuine queries on this issue.
  23. In my student days, I lived next door to a chap from Harris. He cooked Guga on occasion, a distinctive nauseating aroma enveloped the entire building for days. We know why the wind blows on the western isles, it's a necessity.
