  1. In the spirit of new, modern Scotland; we should note turnout for the election was 1112% and Main Battle Tank production increased 8% on last year. An extra rice ration is available to all who voted early and often.
  2. Joseph Kelly has been granted further bail. The Sheriff has ordered him back to court for sentencing in March. In the meantime, Social Services have been asked to conduct reports on Kelly.
  3. Compare and Contrast? Below, are two BBC Scotland reports from two court trials held today in Scotland. The first case was heard in Dundee, the second in Lanark. 1. Dundee United fan sentenced for Ojo assault. A Dundee United supporter who attacked an Aberdeen player during a match has been ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work. Marc Jackson assaulted Funso Ojo as he ran towards home supporters to recover the ball when it went out of play. Jackson stood up and used both hands to shove the player backwards, causing him to stumble. Dundee United withdrew his season ticket for the rest of this campaign and his status will now be reviewed. 2. Man Guilty of Capt Sir Tom Moore 'offensive' Tweet. A man has been found guilty of posting a "grossly offensive" tweet about the death of fundraising hero Captain Sir Tom Moore. Joseph Kelly from Castlemilk, Glasgow, had denied the disrespectful nature of the message on 3 February last year. But Kelly, 36, was found guilty by Sheriff Adrian Cottam and released on bail ahead of sentencing in March. Captain Sir Tom Moore raised more than £32 million for the NHS after he walked 100 laps of his garden in the week before his 100th birthday. The first report tells you Marc Jackson is a Dundee United supporter and describes his actions. The second report fails to inform of Joseph Kelly's, "grossly offensive" tweet - "the only good Brit soldier is a deed one, burn auld fella buuuuuurn". Further, it fails to tell of Joseph Kelly's photograph on his opening Twitter page - replete in his Sellik strip, Tommy Burns scarf around his neck and, wearing a Leprechaun hat whilst holding aloft an Irish Tricolour. Another PQ omission is Sheriff Cottam having to ask Kelly to refrain from laughing twice, as the charge was being read out.
  4. Mason Greenwood and Benjamin Mendy will spend their times in HMP Strangeways waxing nostalgia for the days of the Manchester derby. Further, I am sure when Mason Greenwood first appeared he was being hailed as the next Ryan Giggs? How right they were.
  5. I note we are connected with Guy Bivouac from FC Tent, of course could just be a load of canvas?
  6. I like Glen Kamara as a player, a lot. There are two minutes left of the ridiculous seven minutes added on. The ball is fired forward on our right and a bouncing ball received a cushioned inside of the foot square pass by Kamara. It's intercepted, County players are on their toes waiting to intercept any square passes. It's knocked forward in behind on our right and we allow the County player to knock it off Bassey for a corner. The corner comes in with 90 seconds left, it bounces low in front of Geegsy, he goes down without his hands, they are by his side and he thighs the ball into space for a waiting Watson to knock into the net. Why we cannot manage games at the death is a continuing mystery? We have conceded 18 goals in the league so far, seven of those to Ross County.
  7. A couple of horrendous defensive errors sees us 2-1 down. The fifteen minutes after we opened the scoring, we did not win a tackle. County played it long, often won the first and the second ball. The crosses kept coming into our box. Kamara, Arfield and, Aribo is a very good midfield, until the last ten minutes of the half, they all played with their backs to the County goal. We have got in behind the County back line twice, once was the goal. County are pressing high and fast and have successfully preyed on our errors. We must increase the tempo and get Kent on the ball. Further, in the first twenty minutes, County had two of their backline cautioned. We have not taken the ball to them, stood them up and invited the desperate tackle that could lead to the red. Why?
  8. "Now that's interesting, very interesting". At half time on Wednesday evening, I turned on my micro radio in the hope of being told some good news from Tynecastle. Big Dick was quick to tell me the bad news as the players disappeared up the tunnel, "Celtic are in full control, worthy of their two nil half time lead". Immediately, he handed over to Rob McLean to tell of Ibrox affairs at the break. Obviously, the Red TV commentator was sitting on the PQ naughty step, Aberdeen having been defeated in Paisley the night before. I thought this cannot be good, normally a game at Ibrox does not receive immediate half time attention. A line, including score and scorers before the selected for commentary game re-kicks off; is the most you can hope. Rob talks the truth, the game so far is huff and puff. Rangers have dominated possession and created very little. Then Rob of Red TV tells of the injustice of Livi' being denied a penalty. Now, this is not in the same league as Chris Sutton claiming Lowry caught the ball and handed it over to McGregor, the emphasis was clearly on the Livi' players harbouring a sense of injustice. Big Dick joins in with his fellow Dandy, joking the Ref' was not John Beaton but the two TV angles he had seen were not one hundred per cent conclusive. Further, Alan McGregor had been exceedingly quick to over arm throw the ball to Scott Wright. This is akin to the Aberdeen 2-2 draw earlier in the season where Big Dick's level of consternation carried over into his Friday column in the Press and Journal. Again, from the PQ studio he could not see the Don's David Bates grab a handful of Sakala's jersey and drag him to the ground. He described the decision as, "inexplicable". Sitting in the front row of the Govan top tier, I could clearly see Bates dragging Fashion to the ground; similarly, I clearly saw Lowry chest the ball to the Keeper. Maybe, Big Dick should move his seat three quarters of a mile further forward from PQ to Ibrox Stadium, it will help his sight lines? Anyways, there's no show without the Blarney Punch and a hoarse Tom Anguish intervenes on the Dandy pair to say, "I noticed four Livingston defenders raised their arms claiming for the penalty. Now that's interesting, very interesting". The Referee is the sole arbiter of the game unless a number of players raise their arms, the more that do so, makes it even more interesting. I note three of Tom's favourites raised their arms at Tynecastle, all handled the ball but Tom did not find that remotely interesting because he was hoarse with excitement at ra Sellik negotiating a significant hurdle. This latest phantom appeal took up several minutes of half time, a couple of hours later; Sportscene from the same building decreed Lowry had chested the ball and had a couple of TV angles to prove it. Anatomy lessons at PQ required soonest. "Our Irish cultural correspondent". Tam Cowan referred to RAB Cosgrove as such on Saturday. Most appropriate these last few weeks as RAB has been waxing lyrical about GAA sports. Of course, RAB omitted to tell the listenership about the GAA Rule 21 - a century long banning of member of the Army or Police(basically all members of the Security Forces) from playing Hurling or Gaelic football. RAB supports the right kind of discrimination. I suspect it's the company he keeps? Remember, Policy Advisor to Glasgow City Council's Convenor, Susan Aitken is very good friend of the show, West Belfast born and bred, Gerry Braiden. These last two weekends and four shows, RAB has seen fit to inform us all that Sue Grey -she of the report on Downing Street party times - is a Season Ticket holder at Linfield FC, on three separate occasions. Why, we should be told?
  9. Anyone else feel tonight's match against Livi' could be sticky? We have a number of our better players out due to various reasons and Martindale will have them well organised. The other thing is Bruce Anderson, he has scored against us for three different clubs. Two of those were injury time equalisers for Aberdeen and Acas. Let's hope we begin with tempo and pace? further, I hope Arfield starts and Jack is an option on the bench. I would prefer Jack starts too but he has been out since last February. Glass Half Full Loyal RSC.
  10. Scott Brown is Scott Brown and Scott Brown is going to be Scott Brown. I cannot get upset with Brown, or any of his supporting media. Everyone is entitled to their view including KT, it's all tomorrow fish and chip wrappings. What gets my goat is Kevin Clancy. I expect a truly woeful exhibition of refereeing from him. He does not disappoint, he is bad for both teams every time he walks on to a pitch. However, what cannot be forgiven is walking off the playing surface smiling whilst allowing Scott Brown to wrap his arm around him. Seriously, have you ever seen that before, I haven't? The Ref' waits inside the centre circle until joined by both Linesmen, then they depart in a loose extended order.
  11. I would have allowed young Lowry to hit both penalties after notching the first. How many 17 year old debutants get the opportunity to score a hat-trick at Ibrox?
  12. Chris Spins It. These are trying times for Chris McLaughlin. Remember his old flame, Eilidh Barbour? She left Chris for an American female golfer with a longer iron, then recently announced her and Livingston Assistant Manager, Marvin Bartley were an item. Embarrassing, having to state a preference for the axminster to escape the clutches of creepy Chris then lionise the merits of Marvin's follow through. The Hinshelwood Knoll has been empty since 55 and Chris wants to vent his frustrations in a roundabout way. Today, he headlines BBC Scotland's on line football content with : 'Rangers hold Talks with the SFA'. He is not doing his usual straight shooting from his arse, no this has the full thrust of his designation, BBC Scotland Sports News Correspondent. Chris outlines Rangers grievances as such, a letter was sent to the SFA outlining eight points of concern reference Referee, Kevin Clancy's handling of the game at Pittodrie. Chris highlights Johnny Hayes appearing to throw an elbow at Borna Barisic with no action taken. That's it, the other seven points of concern are not worthy of inclusion. However, Chris begins the second paragraph reminding the readership that his favourites have cut the lead at the top of the Premiership to four points. Then, we are told of Aberdeen Manager, Stephen Glass having a grievance in McGregor not being penalised amid the denial of a penalty award. Oh, and a penalty was awarded against Alfredo Morelos. I would have thought a headline that reads, 'Rangers Hold Talks with the SFA After Complaining about Referee Clancy' would proffer a narrative telling of all eight points but obviously Chris had to spin Stephen Glass and his beloved Sellik into the piece. He should have finished with, how Tuesday evening's game ended - in nearly sixty years of watching Scottish football, I have never seen a player walk from the pitch with his arm wrapped around a Referee, both sharing a laugh. Maybe Chris has nobody to wrap his arm around?
  13. DMAA, I would not advocate all three in the team, the midfield must be a balance of ballers and runners. However, one of those three is necessary if we hope to involve the front three in the game on a consistent basis.
  14. Club 1872 - a fire without a chimney.
  15. As a Club we have three midfielders we can rely upon to put their foot on the ball and, get their heads up. Players that control the tempo and conduct of a match : 1 Joe Aribo - currently participating in ACON with Nigeria and he won't be back available until after the game at Sellik Park. 2. Ryan Jack - injured since February last year and his comeback has already experience a couple of set backs. 3 Steve Davis - appeared to be out of the manager's plans in a most busy December, genuinely surprised to hear of his injury on Tuesday. Do we know the nature of the injury and how long it will last? Last night an energised Aberdeen pushed us back, maintained a high press and, squeezed the game. We attempted to get the passing game going continually but kept giving the ball away because Sands and Kamara played most of the game facing their own goals. At Tynecastle last month, we cut out the midfield with long diagonals and quickly went two up. There was a couple of attempts last night but not nearly enough. We had to turn Aberdeen and move the entire team up the pitch. The main threat was the constant supply of crossed balls into the box, McGregor had one save last evening. We need one of the three above in the team.
  16. Albert Henderson was the type of manager that used to talk about, 'the Blend'. He liked a lively, pacy front three but acknowledged he needed a prompter to find them. Again, his teams had at various periods, Andy Penman, Jimmy Bone, Ernie Winchester, .... etc.
  17. Albert Henderson managed Arbroath for nearly 20 years, creating a number of very watchable footballing teams. They won promotion to Scotland's top tier twice, spending four seasons in the top flight. In the early 70s, the Lichties had an exciting front three of John Fletcher, Billy Pirie and, Tommy Walker; deservedly defeating Rangers 2-3 at Ibrox in 1974. My first visit to Gayfield was in 1968, Colin Stein had just signed and his debut was against Arbroath, scoring a hat-trick in a 1-5 victory.
  18. It's Charles Green and Co suing Pacific Quay. How much is this whole sorry saga going to cost the public purse? I suggest both sets of interested parties strip to their waists, get into a ring, all armed with a chainsaw ......... Ding ding, seconds out!
  19. Alan Pattullo is a Dundee fan. This last decade, Dundee has been owned by BIG Sellik fan, John Nelms. Dundee and ra Sellik share staff(Gordon Strachan), share players(Leigh Griffiths), share convenient hidey-holes(Dundee Spam Folder), ......... share Journos(Alan Pattullo). It's just a natural progression. Pattullo's take is to be expected, it's more of the same continually proffered by RAB Cosgrove, Spiers, Jum Spence, ......... etc. They tell us we(Rangers supporters) are on the sidelines and in the same sentence add, they don't get us. Three or four decades of pushing this message results in articles such as the above. Rangers supporters are comfortable with the current arrangement. We had 20 years of being confined to a Sellik Park corner with poor sight lines and restricted views. We had effigies hanging by the neck, twisting in the breeze, above a dozen 'kill all H-u-ns' flags. The Pattullo's congratulated the Green Brigade for witty and clever banners and ignored the fact the PF lost all evidence against the nine GB members charged. A public inquiry promised, never reported and, the Pattullos don't ask why? Perhaps Alan et al should talk to Rangers supporters? The replies should be, 'we're half of nothing'.
  20. As Ted says, there was an uncredited interview with Ange on BBC Scotland's website yesterday. So, Chris McLaughlin was rawking the Vapors(thanks Ted) vibe. There was a staged photo of the Japanese triumvirate with their socks pulled thigh high, Nippon Ingenue? Chris added that Sellik had no interest in getting into a bidding war for McGree's signing. I think that comment has been pulled today?
