Yeah agreed. Triers do always get the benefit of the doubt because it seems that physically they are putting more effort in ergo they must want to win more, love the team etc. With Cousin however there were some games when he simply wouldn't run for a ball. When you see him put in barnstorming performances like that final one against the scum and a couple of others, high profile games I might add, then it's hard not to come to the conclusion that he couldn't be arsed sometimes.

Yes. regardless of whether we agree or disagree with Walter's sentiments, it was very out of character for him to say something so blatantly incendiary in terms of dressing room harmony. Can't see how any good can come of it. If that's what he thinks then take Barry aside and whisper in his ear "Psst, your one of my favourites, son. I hope you don't mind though...I've had to drop Big Lee..."

I think I'm going to wait for a couple of games after Barry's return before I get into this argument again. Whether it's wise or indeed fair to the other players is debatable. I just think you can never have enough quality in your team and Barry is quality. Walter's said he's going to play so we'll all have our answers soon enough. I think I know who's going to proved right:p

I think all the Barry haters out there need to remember what the team was like pre-Mendes without him. The midfield was a fucking disaster. There is no substitute for class and I will welcome Barry, Scotland's finest midfielder of his generation, back into the team. If Aaron was so fantastic he would be in the team. Edu looks like he will take a while to settle after an average debut. Barry was bossing the likes of Parma and Bayern when HE was 22. I'm sorry but if you're all saying he shouldn't come back in now we have quality players he can interact with, then you need your heids examining. The reason he used to take the ball off people's toes was because they were PISH!!! He had a poor season hampered by injury and PISH all around him. A poor season in which he captained us to our first European final in 35 years despite the pish. I welcome competition for him as he does. If it came to a straight choice between Barry and Thommo, which I don't think it will, but if it did, would you all pick Thommo??? NONSENSE. Oh Barry, Barry....

Just heard on the radio that he's been arrested for criminal damage. I love Gazza and these days every time I hear a Gazza story breaking I fear the worst. I suspect it won't be long before we get the "Gazza's jumped off a bridge" story. Poor guy. Let down by himself and everyone around him at every turn.

the more I see of him, the harder I find it to belive that no premiership clubs wanted him at �£3m. He'd been down there long enough and they all know what he's about, so hopefully doing well for us isn't going to spark any interest in him. Having said that, if he puts in a couple of high profile performances for Portugal, if he gets a game that is, we could be in trouble. Great to have you Pedro.
