Am I missing something here? We bring in a young player on loan as a direct replacement for a young player (Middleton) sent OUT on loan, one who has considerable first team experience. Unless - Ojo will replace Kent. At least Aribo seems to be a permanent signing - isn't he?

This should be the whole purpose of sending players out on loan; not to push them half out the door as with for example, Liam Kelly.

Well said. Time we got back to producing a decent core of the national side like we did with Greig, Henderson et al. At the moment only Jack is a contender (I would have him even just as right back cover) though Hastie and McCrorie may not be too far away.

Docherty and Middleton's loan moves are only good moves if they enable them to challenge for our first team. There's no point if they are to be replaced by loanees in, unless said loanees are exceptional talents in the making.

We're terrible at promoting young Scottish talent. Compare it to England where they have 2 18 year olds in their squad who have had to compete with multi-million pound imports at their clubs. Hope Houston and Rudden get a chance ahead of some of the names we're linked with.

Am I the only one disappointed? By far Scotland's best goalkeeper. I'll take him at his word though - he knows his body. Often retiring early can prolong one's club career - look at Brown (not that I would have have had him in the squad anyway).
