  1. 11 million viewers say otherwise.
  2. I'm sure I heard SG say that he wanted him because we lack a left-footed midfielder; suggests to me he will partner Arfield and Jack and just in from Kent.
  3. Must have missed that about Dorrans going. Clearly injury has done for him as it did for Rossiter. Holt did a good stop gap job but we need to step up a level now. I think SG sees the midfield as the area to build around.
  4. No the only thing stopping it is the parochialism of the English clubs and their self-preservation. oh, and Eufa with their opposition to cross-border leagues. It certainly sticks in my craw that Wales can have teams in their league and still have a national side, both more successful currently than ours.
  5. Can you see a Wembley crowd chanting "Bonnie Britain, we'll support you evermore"? British Lions - not a rugger fan but don't see the point. Rugby World Cup has 4 nations. As for the Olympics, I don't feel any great affinity with Team GB (although it OUGHT to be Team UK). Your attitude is like the Walter Scott 'North Britons' cringe.
  6. Don't be too cynical: Worrall was only on loan. What I wish to know is if Edmundson is left-sided to complement Goldson.
  7. Some of the points being made here are reminiscent of Alan Hansen's famous dictum that "You win nothing with kids" which theory was then promptly demolished by Sir Fergie winning the title with the Beckham, Giggs, Scholes school .Ok I know they were exceptional but it's something to aspire to. When I hear phrases like 'monetise' and 'trading commodity' it makes my flesh creep; I don't want to support a balance sheet, but a living, breathing organic whole with which I can identify.
  8. But, by having a UK team, that is what you would effectively be doing: denying an identity. I would, however, have loved to see a British League but now with the PL money I cannot see it happening.
  9. Despite having lived 90% of my life in England and speaking with an English accent, I just cannot feel any emotional pull to a UK or an England team. My bloodline is 100% Scottish, with a smattering of Northern Ireland. If it ever did come about it would only be a matter of time before people started calling it 'England' anyway.
  10. Surely we are going to be seeded for that round? Have we not amassed points from our campaign last year?
  11. Well, you could say, neither is Scotland! But I agree, you would have thought that after our exploits last season we might have had to play one round less at least.
  12. This World Cup will be decided by VAR. No need to play the games - just take the first dubious incident and hand it over to the panel.
  13. With respect, Rousseau, that's not quite my point. Ojo is likely a Liverpudlian at heart; Middleton - who is also skilful and creative - is one of our own, part of our soul for years to come, if that is not too pompous.
  14. Am I missing something here? We bring in a young player on loan as a direct replacement for a young player (Middleton) sent OUT on loan, one who has considerable first team experience. Unless - Ojo will replace Kent. At least Aribo seems to be a permanent signing - isn't he?
  15. Arfield Jack and Kamara are my starting 3 at the moment so who is he going to replace?
  16. This should be the whole purpose of sending players out on loan; not to push them half out the door as with for example, Liam Kelly.
  17. Well said. Time we got back to producing a decent core of the national side like we did with Greig, Henderson et al. At the moment only Jack is a contender (I would have him even just as right back cover) though Hastie and McCrorie may not be too far away.
  18. Docherty and Middleton's loan moves are only good moves if they enable them to challenge for our first team. There's no point if they are to be replaced by loanees in, unless said loanees are exceptional talents in the making.
  19. Thought we might have had a Gerrard v Lampard friendly v Derby.
  20. Albion Rovers once had a midline of Sage, Rice and Currie. I kid you not.
  21. Don't forget Zak Rudden too; also a 'true centre forward.'
  22. He looks like the missing link (evolutionary speaking) in that photo.
  23. Worst I've ever seen wrt simulation; unfortunately, the raising of the arm was the deciding factor.
