Because there were two defenders who would have got back I think. -

That and not getting injuries for Tuesday - which is arguably the biggest game of SG's Rangers career so far. -
That rings a bell.....

A centralising government does not make it hard left or socialist; I have seen nothing from Salmond in his career about overthrowing capitalism. An independent Scotland under present conditions would make it vulnerable to every multi-nationalist corporation out there. The characteristics of a socialist society you outline there are straight out a of a Ladybird guide and nothing to do with the Communist Manifesto. Though I do realise that to some hard left is anything to the left of Ed Milliband.

The economic argument is a valid and good one but you have a Daily Express idea of what constitutes traditional hard left. Your third paragraph (re the unaffected wealthy) is spot on. Read what Gonzo says.

Sinn Fein are not'hard Left' - they are a nationalist party. Salmond has never been hard left either; more of a nationalist as well. There is much misunderstanding about what constitutes Left; Lenin, for example, always discouraged nationalist movements.

I thought that too; was thinking McGregor would have saved both.

Get what you are saying but a full house next week should spur us on, but we must learn to be as patient as the team. If we need extra time v Malmo then fair enough. That 95 min. goal by Davis should be of huge totemic value - all the great teams have won games in the last minutes. I remember once Bill Shankly was asked about a 91st minute winner for Liverpool: the interviwer said, "Left it a bit late, didn't you?" "Not really", said Shanks, "We play for ninety one minutes." -

That's often said of Spurs as well; think it goes back to the days of the double-winning team. You and Compo will probably remember when the great Greaves and co. punctured our balloon. But the main point is that no true supporters turn on their team - Tav. got pelters the other night, for instance, but I wouldn't mind betting he comes up with an assist on Tuesday. -
I thought it was a good article. The SNP are deliberately alienating a huge chunk of electors who may otherwise be inclined to vote for them.

We all know that his weakness is his defending but he had improved in that regard. He is just searching for his best form at the moment but to call for him to be dropped is a bit harsh; what if Patterson replaced him and he made a mistake due to his inexperience? -

Be happy with a 0-0. Like the old days when that was a good result away from home before the away goal rule was introduced. -
You know what? I'm at the stage now where I am really not bothered who plays, such is the faith I have in our management. We have a choice of two for most positions, the only exception being, I think Kent, as I can't see who replicates his role. Maybe Wright, I dunno. I do think that Helander is ahead of Simpson though, principally because of experience.

Suggests to me he has more of a future than Jones or Barker. Though he doesn't seem to have developed since his transfer.
-
Thanks. I think that should be the last word.

I presume you mean because our co-efficient would leapfrog theirs? It ought to have done so already - that's the fourth season in a row they have gone out before the season proper has started.

Difference here is that it's the Scottish League we are talkiing about and most of the teams likely to challenge us will be unable to hold on to their key players. Keltic are doomed, an embarrasment to Scottish football; I expect them to lose to Jabonec and possibly also to Hearts as well. Aberdeen may well be our nearest challenger this year. I don't care about our points total - just win the league so we get automatic CL qualification. I'd rather we lost a couple of league games in exchange for a cup victory or two.
