Yes, and you know who is responsible for boosting our GD? Four letters, and the last one is a 'd'!

Was lovely to see decisions going against THEM for once - like the boy Kerr not being sent off. Tell you what, I'm really looking forward to next week, but what a game we face. We've been warned about Mulgrew's free kicks, and the boy Aluko is a threat for me. If we win, then THEY will feel the heat of our breath!

As John Barr said, Fleck is a Murray Park product - and there are others: Wylde, 17 year old left back is another highly touted; so too Jamie Ness, a midfielder on the bench recently; Danny Wilson a centre back... Now, I don't expect all of them in at the same time, but surely we can start blooding some bit by bit and increase the experience of such as Naismith. This way we can phase out the Fergies and the Daillys and Weirs, save on our wage bill - and just maybe build a half-decent squad without having to spend on the Laffertys of this world.

Oh Boogie - You're a football player

Hear Hear. Wish more footballers would show an interest in the wider world around them; if I was a Rangers player I'd wear an armband too to show solidarity. Though I wonder what would happen if Avi Cohen and Bonni Ginzburg were still at the club? -
How the hell do Arsenal KNOW about youngsters that don't play in the first team? And how come WE don't seemingly know about them? I'd never heard of Wilson till this week!

John Fleck to get his chance in coming weeks!
alexscottislegend replied to gavin3084's topic in Rangers Chat
Fleck's a natural footballer who has been played all across the front line, but I think the club see his future as a striker. I'd be happy just to see him on the field. Aaron is two-footed but with a predilection for his right, I believe. -

Hang on - Fleck, Davis, Mendes, Edu and Aaron. That makes 5. Are you advocating 4-5-1 with KM up top? Actually I think Aaron is right footed and Fleck left, but then I'm old-fashioned. -

This sounds like a bit of mischief-making by the Sun it seems to me. Does anyone seriously think that United ,Spurs or Arsenal would put them straight into their first team when they haven't really made their mark at SPL level? And why would any youngster want to swap Rangers reserves for anyone else's reserves? Not only that but even Bain would know that their value would jump when they have some first-team experience behind them. It really makes me puke when I see that Wenger is blooding 16 year-olds in his first teams and Everton gave a debut to a youngster the other day in the EPL; so why is it so difficult to play young players in the SPL if it really is a mickey-mouse league.? The worrying thing is that we may actually be HARMING their development if we let Walter molly-coddle them for too long. Where would Fletcher at Hibs be now for instance if he hadn't been given a chance? -
I hope to God you're wrong. If he is flogged before he's given a chance to shine, then we should dismantle the stadium.

Murray Must Go banner at McDairmid Park

And yet that 'turd' is arguably the best possible line-up we could send out! -
Now on the BBC website that deal has stalled on personal terms. Hutton all over again? Hope to God we keep him because - rack my brains - I cannot think of a suitable replacement in or out of the club.

You Just Couldn't Make This Up - Lafferty Out Injured
alexscottislegend replied to CammyF's topic in Rangers Chat
He played up front for Burnley sometimes and he didn't exactly pull up any trees. Don't hold your breath. -
And that's it in a nutshell. No one else at the club can come up with 20 goals - it's not even as if they were spread around; who's next top? KM with 7? The like for like replacement is Velicka and he will not get more than 10 I think. The only good thing to come out of this that is we have apparently been assured Bougherra and Mendes are safe but IMO we'd miss Boyd more. All 3 are just about irreplaceable for the cash we'd have available.

How come we're described as GLASGOW Rangers, yet Celtic are just Celtic?
-
Yeh, but if it was as simple as that, then obviously Gow didn't play because he wasn't as good in his position as Adam or McCulloch and I will never buy that in a million years.
-
Agreed. Unless Brian Laudrup gets fitted with monkey glands, let's view ex-players for what they are - EX players.

I actually touted Commons some time ago on another thread. I know he's not the type we would have gone for in the past, but in terms of what we can afford, he'd be worth a shout.

Rangers consider loan move for David Healy
alexscottislegend replied to johnnyk's topic in Rangers Chat
Ha! If only it were that simple. -
MF I take your main point - Rangers are certainly being disingenuous with their diversionary tactics, but I genuinely think the Atlantic League will have to come in some shape or form because the other big European clubs - Marseille, Porto, Benfica et al - are not going to stand idly by and see themselves excluded from the Champions League riches for much longer. Sure we can qualify by winning the SPL but after this year we're likely to have to negotiate 2 difficult qualifying rounds. This year, had we beaten Kaunas, we would still have failed to get past Aalborg I'm sorry to say. Having managed to build up the co-efficient on our Eufa run, I'm ashamed of the way we helped to destroy it - and Walter with his mistimed transfer dealings is certainly to blame.
-
Don't see where you're coming from here. Wouldn't you rather see Rangers playing Ajax or Benfica regularly as opposed to St. Mirren and Hamilton? These European sides are hardly 'also rans'. Or are you one of those who don't care as long as we finish above 'them'?, who just to want to see us annhilate teams in Scotland? If you're thnking we should be in the English Prem, forget it - that's a dead duck. The status quo has to change, one way or another as it's not just us who are suffering from the disparity in income throughout Europe.

Rangers put £7.5million price tag on keeper McGregor
alexscottislegend replied to johnnyk's topic in Rangers Chat
That doesn't mean he can't regain that form, he's young enough. What would we do with the money? Buy another 'star' who's going to move on in six months?- 15 replies

Newcastle prepare £4.5m offer for Rangers defender Bougherra
alexscottislegend replied to johnnyk's topic in Rangers Chat
If that rumour's true, I'm fuming. I'm sick to death of players saying how it's a privilege to play for us, blah, blah, blah..then move to the Premiership. If clubs like Newcastle wanted them why didn't they sign them from Charlton or whoever? And no it's no consolation to get Berra; we still need a replacement for Weir. If this goes ahead, let there be NO more buying of players from England who we then sell on; you'd think we'd learnt our lesson from the Cuellar sale. -
We can claw title back from Celtic-LEE McCULLOCH
alexscottislegend replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
It is indeed 'deeply patronising'. But it's really the newspaper desperately trying to fill their column inches when there is nothing concrete to report.
