  1. This just a disgrace. An absolute disgrace. I have NEVER felt so ashamed and angry as as a Scotland fan. But they probably won't sack him because of the compensation needed to pay.
  2. Thanks for that. However, ancient Greece was not the democracy it's often painted - it was supported by millions of slaves.
  3. I may be naive or ignorant (or both) but could explain that for me?
  4. I cut him a lot of slack, but now it does appear he's 'at it.' Sickening after all the pledging he did, echoes of Cuellar. If he is not fit to play for us after Algeria, punt him - we will lose him for African Nations anyway.
  5. What an utter waste. He should be working at his trade of being a football manager and then maybe we would have some candidates for the RFC job in the future.
  6. Take it that was a rhetorical question but yes.
  7. You know you're in trouble when a wife-beater and self-confessed 'dogger' has it in for you... http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opinion/columnists/stan-collymore/Rangers-fans-shamed-British-football-and-the-club-should-be-kick-out-of-Europe-article215491.html
  8. We can ignore cretins like Anna Smith and Spiers with their agenda-driven tirades, but we have to be pro-active in ensuring that we do not get a lengthy European ban. After Barcelona 1972, we were given 2 years reduced to one on appeal; a 2 year ban this time round could kill us financially. Why not suggest to Eufa that we will go one year without taking any away tickets? That way we will be seen to be doing something and getting our retaliation in first. Because Eufa might well decide - solely on the basis of our previous - to force us to play closed doors games at Ibrox and that would be far worse, and not simply because of the revenue aspect. There is nothing more Rangers FC can do to stop undesirables attaching themselves to our club. Under the rules clubs are responsible for the home support; I could understand it if a missile was thrown at Ibrox but at an away ground we are powerless. I know this will seem a craven attitude to some, but it is simply self-preservation which makes me say this, damage limitation if you like.
  9. Because of that I'm worried about the Seville game. Might be an idea not to take any tickets, then if there is trouble they cannot blame the club. Tough on anyone who has made travel plans but this time it is too important for us not to be above reproach. Even a heavy fine could cripple us.
  10. I'd agree with you but...an elderly supporter was clearly seen to be punched in the face viciously by a steward and that seemed to be the catalyst. Can't blame people for taking the law into their own hands at that.
  11. That's actually a good - and feasible - idea.
  12. This is great. Can anyone tell me when this Hamburg-St. Paul thing started? Was it just because of Jorg Albertz or was it up and running before that?
  13. A club has no more control over who chooses to follow it than it has over the weather. Especially when away from home. Some supporters were guilty of vandalism no more and should be charged individually - that is what video footage is for. The club- as a club - should not be liable. Some of our support are no angels but I refuse to believe that we are any worse than those of other clubs. The BBC headline makes it sick; they are presuming us guilty. They could simply have said: "Disturbance involving stewards" but no they choose to single us out. And I heard BBC reporters quite clearly state that a steward punched an elderly fan in the face. John Spence, I think it was, witnessed this; he should be prepared to offer his services to the club to present evidence.
  14. Yeh, predictably the Daily Retard is already calling it the Battle of Bucharest.
  15. A draw would not actually do us any good, though, would it? Better to go for broke as a run in Europe is at stake.
  16. Wasn't aware of that. Strange..
  17. ...has just been called up to the Scotland Under 21 squad. Obviously being on loan at Oxford has benefited him, in a way that reserve football wouldn't have (supposing that there had been any in any case). With Danny Wilson also doing well, we could have a backbone of Ross and Wilson to serve us well for years. On a negative note, no place for Fleck, which I find annoying and baffling.
  18. Just done it now.
  19. Or Fleck? Is that not his real position?
  20. "Beef up his strikeforce" yet! That's a cracker!
  21. Much as I have been hoping for Wilson to get a break I actually agree with Pete here. I would hate to see his growing reputation tarnished should he make a crucial mistake. Big Lee, on the other hand, has no reputation to lose.
  22. http://scotlandonsunday.scotsman.com/rangersfc/Reports-of-Rangers39-European-demise.5784485.jp Should cheer us up a bit? Or not!!
  23. Thanks for that, Ian. One of these days when you've a bit of time you can instruct me how to do it myself and save you the trouble!
  24. I don't know how to post links from newspapers so if someone could do that with Tom English's article on Dave King in Scotland on Sunday I'd be grateful. I know English has not been one of our greatest fans, to put it mildly, but what he says about King seems to put to bed any idea that he might be our saviour. Given that, this 'members' idea seems a much better option. If we can must 200,000 fans in Manchester, then we should have no trouble finding 30,000 to save the club.
  25. So he gets jailed and Gerrard gets off. Guess which one is white and which one is black?
