  1. Just heard he got injured and won't be on bench.
  2. A double-edged sword this. On one level, being 'otherwise engaged' on a Thursday night will hamper them in their challenge with us; on the other hand they are so bloody useless that they will fail to win a game, thus hampering Scotland's co-efficient.
  3. I got banned from FF for some spurious reason but not bothered because it's seen by some on here as a kind of badge of honour. BTW der Berliner, please tell me what your Anglo-Saxon subscript means!
  4. Think we'd all prefer for both of them to stay but going on loan to decent sides could help their development. Look at the way Manure have loaned out Wellbeck and Cleverley. I'd say Hutton and Fleck have similar status vis-a-vis our squad, so if they come back and become certain starters it's a win-win situation. At the end of the day they are still our players.
  5. Surely Bob Malcolm deserves a place? He was versatile and could fail to perform in a number of positions.
  6. With a Welsh first name and an Irish surname!
  7. Would be strange having a 'Murphy' at Ibrox, though we did once have an 'O'Hara' a long time ago.Or am I just being narrow-minded, parochial and sectarian?
  8. Changed my mind on the Cuellar situation. At first I was praying for him to come back but I think he has had a lot of injury problems and he cant get into the Villa team ahead of Collins and Dunne. Eck has said he sees him as good cover - for those two? Sorry to say but he may be past his best now. In which case Goian and Boca looks a good right/left footed combo.
  9. A good way to look at it. But I would have been happy if they could actually win some EL games and rack up some co-efficient points for the future so we could ALL benefit. As it is I fear they'll just heap more embarrassment on us as I cant see them winning ANY games in that group.
  10. Yet - there's always interest form down south for Davis, Lafferty,Jela,Edu,Naismith etc from one club or other. If they're deemed good enough for EPL/championship then they must be good enough for us. So - why aren't they performing? Maybe we just don't give them the right coaching. Somebody to help McCoist - that's what needed. Not throwing out the baby with the bathwater.
  11. I'll answer it for you. YES. Shamrock Rovers made it to the group stages by beating Partizan Belgrade. We would have been over the moon if we had beaten a team of that pedigree. And as far as I know Shamrock don't have international players like EDU and Jelavic, so that must say something. Maybe the League of Ireland is more competitive than the SPL? Christ, what a thought.
  12. Couldn't agree more. I go back a lot further than you and I recall when Celtic beat Leeds home and away in the European Cup to reach the 1970 final, that Rangers supporters were genuinely pleased that Scottish football was given such a shot in the arm. It only served to inspire us to reach the Cup Winners Cup final 2 years later. We really have to ditch this parochial and infantile tribalism for good. Do Man U supporters contrive only to be better than Man City or L'pool? I think not.
  13. You should have added 'fitter as well'.That's what's really shocking.
  14. This is why we need to hope that Keltic pull their weight against Sion. We need to stop this silly parochial cheering when they lose in Europe - it is harming our chances too.
  15. Yippee! Yippee! Top of the league!
  16. Amazed that morons like this can actually use a computer. When you think that 5 year sentences were handed out to two kids who tried to start a riot on facebook, then there clearly is something that could be done. Freedom of speech is one thing - giving deliberate offence is another.
  17. It's not 2 weeks Frankie it's actually tonight. The Euro deadline is much more important IMO. There's no Weir and Bartley now so who partners Goian? We should be able to handle the SPL with the squad we've got.
  18. Spot on. We may not be able to compete at the top end of the transfer market as we used to, but at least as we're now vitually debt-free, the least we can do is reject derisory offers. Charlie Adam is not essentially different at £9m than he was at £500,00.
  19. Just one question - if he's so bad why were Bursaspor desperate to get him? They must have seen something. His defending is awful but Ricky Foster could never score the goals he's scored. Think he got 11 one season. I'd keep him but only as a squad player now.
  20. Agreed -if a loan does it for him then great. I remain hopeful that he will be the player everyone thought he would be. I only meant I don't want him to be released on the cheap like Adam.
  21. Be just our luck to get Spurs, Braga or Schalke. Whoever we get the players owe us a few top perofrmances and results.
  22. Seems to be surprising unanimity grom Gersnetters here. I'm baffled why he hasn't broken through but maybe the attitude mentioned earlier is the clue. For God sake we don't want to let him go only to see another Adam situation.
  23. The most important target now is Juhasz and we will still need another CB. Bougie will be a loss.I dont see the other centre backs having his penchant for playing the ball out of defence and joining our attack with his sorties upfield. That's a rare talent and priceless nowadays.
  24. The difference is that with Blackburn the media won't come looking for him unlike the Glasgow mhedia. I wouldn't rule out him coming to us after a few years in the same way Kenny Miller did after going to wolves.
  25. Nope. I'm terrified they'll score first. If we survive this one it might just be our most significant result for about ten years. 1-1
