Sorry if I'm going off topic a bit but does anyone have any update on the Dave King situation? This guy has enough personal wealth to run Rangers several times over if reports are to be be believed so surely now is the time we need him? Of course he was in dispute with the SA tax people - anyone know the current situation? If he's been kicked out is that because Whyte thinks he's damaged goods? When I think how many times we were told on this forum that we had to get rid of SDM; Maineflyer in particular didn't care who we got to replace him. Well now we seem to have at least someone with question marks over him. I heard that Alistair Johnsotn claims SDM has a buy back option. I ask in all sincerity - would that be a good move for us? SDM alweays claimed that he would only sell to a person with the best interests of RFC at heart. I'm not gonna sleep tonight.

How would the Old Firm fare in the English Premier League?
alexscottislegend replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Just suppose for a minute that Cardiff get promoted this season then they could join Swansea in the EPL where there would be be 2 Welsh teams. Now - I always thought that EUFA would not allow a league with clubs from different member associations - that was aways the barrier to us and Keltic joining up. But just imagine after all the effort we put into moving to England if we get upstaged by6 two smaller clubs from Wales. -
Who was your first favourite player?
alexscottislegend replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
1.Jim Baxter 2. Willie Henderson 3) Alex Scott -
'Bud' Johnston! You must be nearly my age! Actually I remember he used to play more as a second striker for us, with people like Orjan Persson on the actual left wing. But his type is what is so often lacking these days. Wallace or wylde? Horses for courses I say. Wylde is a winger to trade, while Wallace is a LB. Wylde is young, wingers are inconsistent, even the great 'moody blue' whom you also mention.
-
Thanks mate, much appreciate the trouble you went to. He really needs a run out in that role.
-
Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is a trequartista and is Fleck one? He seems to be a player in search of a role, much like Adam was - if you remember we were unable to accommodate him and Ferguson in the same central midfield. Would hate for Fleck to go on and 'do an Adam' as it were.
-
Wonder if he will also get an 8 game ban like Suarez? FA have to be consistent over this.
-
Yeah - contrast that with those arseholes Lee Cattermole and Nick Bendtner who trashed some poor bloke's car when they've probably got flash cars themselves. If anything, someone should have trashed THEIR cars.

Rangers ace Steven Naismith told to snub Team GB
alexscottislegend replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Sorry you're wrong. Mackie and Forrest both were savaged on the TA website, one for being English, the other because he plays for Celtic and how dare he not play for Scotland. -
Rangers ace Steven Naismith told to snub Team GB
alexscottislegend replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
That's the point. What if - just suppose IF - we were forced to unite as a UK team for Fifa, is that what we Scots, including Rangers fans, would want. I definitely wouldn't. But I also think it's disgraceful for anyone to boycott a player when he is playing for Scotland. -
Just as a further example, some Liverpool players were trying to get Enrique to take out British citizenship so he could play for England. He turned it down flat, but it would have driven a coach and horses through the gentleman's agreement. That's the only way Novo could have played for us. Personally I think there has to be some bloodline; good as Phil Bardsley is, I think qualifying just because your father was born in Glasgow during a temporary stay is stretching things a bit.
-
Wish he could play for Scotland - he's much more of a Scotsman than Steven Fletcher.

This lad Charlie Telfer was recently praised by Mark Wotte as one to watch (sorry, can't find the link). Anyone know anything about him?
-
Thanks and don't apologise for the bad language in this case. I get apoplectic with rage just thinking about what you said - and I agree with you!
-
I hope to God that this is not in readiness for a new company after administration to be re-born as 'Glasgow' rather like 'Airdrieonians' became 'Airdrie Utd.' .The name of our club has always been THE RANGERS F.C. You would never get Arsenal becoming London Arsenal.
-
There, there, you see - Keltic's draw with Killie didn't deprive you of your 'jokes' after all!

Lennon feared (past tense.....) sack
alexscottislegend replied to craig's topic in General Football Chat
[b]Lennon must stay !!You're so right there. If they punted him then I think they would be tempted to splash out big on one of their (many) former players who have made it in the managerial field. Off the top of my head, there's Owen Coyle, Lambert, Malky McKay and maybe they could even tempt Moyes. I'd be more worried about any of them than any player in their present squad. -
Yeh, but don't you think Levein was the best of a bad lot when he got the job?If not him, then who? Please don't say Walter -he's on record as saying he woulnd't come back.Only credible candidates I can think of are Strachan and Souness. Or David Moyes if we pushed the boat out.
-
He's in the U21 squad for the moment. Needs to be more consistent.
-
Hope you cautioned him for animal abuse! Only downside is we really want Lennon to stay but he must be on a shoogly peg now.
-
More the case that he filled a roll - or a few rolls!
-
What are you talking about 'good stuff'? The useless bassas have again damaged Scotlands credibility in Europe. That in turn harms Rangers chances of getting a favourable draw in future.

Why is Naismith being allowed to play for Scotland with an injury?
alexscottislegend replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
They used to have. It's about time somebody told them they are a Scottish club.
