  1. But these are quotes from Paul Clark. Why would he - disinterested party - try to muddy the waters in any way? It's his job to unravel all the financial threads.
  2. It gladdens my heart to hear that as I always wondered about FF. I too was banned for 'racism.' Because I suggested it may be unwise to expose our black players to the Red Star bile. Now, considering I was the stepfather of 2 mixed race kids, I found that hard to take. Seems they're just control freaks. And also, Bears mentions DM. Never could understand why he'd deal with Whyte. Did he not always say he would only sell to someone with the best interests of RFC? Whatever we thought of him, I always believed that. For me that's the biggest question; did Lloyds force him into selling, as Traynor I think has claimed?
  3. Danny i just meant we need to be playing them in the same environment. Be no good if we quit Scotland leaving them behind.
  4. Think I agree with you really. We don't like to admit it, but we need THEM and they need us. If we moved to pastures new I would miss the chance to stuff them now and again. I have a dream where we meet Keltic in the champions League and stuff them in full view of the worldwide watching audience. We can only do that if we get our co-efficient up and we both qualify for Europe's top tournament. If Apoel Nicosia can do it then so can Rangers and Keltic. There's only one thing worse than unrequited love - unrequited hatred!
  5. My mistake - that was the record crowd. Just makes you think, though - that could be us in the CL final stages.
  6. Never mind Barca, what about this club from Cyprus? In the last 16 of the CL. That's what we could have achieved and we were not 'minnows' like them (average crowd less than 23,000). Just shows what passion and good administration (sorry, no pun intended) can do.
  7. Gregg Wylde has gone up in my estimation. Will follow his career with interest and hope maybe we can re-sign him one day.
  8. I'm surprised at people suggesting this seriously. If you think the flak we get in Scotland is bad, then wait till we move to the English Leagues. They'll drag up Manchester and every wee instance of hooliganism when we visited in the past. We have few friends in England, least of all any support from some of the EPL wannabees whom we would threaten.
  9. Danny isn't sitting in judgement - he is only trying to distance us from the more rabid element of the Tim support. To maintain a dignified silence is what is required here. To do otherwise is to give ammunition to those who see the OF as two sides of the same coin.
  10. Remarkable when you look at it like that. You don't think though that Whittaker would offer more than Ortiz? I also think Hutton needs to be in the centre to accommodate the left-sided Ness. Apart from that, looks ideal.
  11. You can - I did.
  12. I keep going back to the time when takeover negotiations were going on. Most of us wanted rid of SDM at any cost and I remember how he kept saying that he would only sell to someone who had the best interests of RFC at heart. Was Murray really that stupid to be conned in that way, despite Paul Murray and AJ urging caution? Many posters on here dismissed these misgivings on the grounds that they were just bitter ex-directors. And CW still was evasive about income sourcing. But now they seem to be proved right. Just can't get my head around the fact that SDM was that stupid.
  13. Thought he went to Falkirk or Dunfermline after us, someone like that. Never quite made it but came up through our much-criticised youth ranks.Don't remember the religious stuff, though. Think he was in same team as Quinton Young and Derek Parlane, but most of his good games were against 'lesser' opposition.
  14. Great to see some positivism emerging at last. Felt like leaping around when i read those.Great writing. Thanks, chaps.
  15. rbr - that's by far the most encouraging thing I've heard in the last few days if you are proved right. If we can get new owners it means we have a chance of leaving behind the stigma Whyte has brought on us; although, if it all turns out good in the end he may not be viewed as a bete noire after all.
  16. It's academic now, chaps. The point is that Keltic will have a tainted title in the same year that they have had 2 tainted attempts at the Europa. That makes me feel a whole lot better, espceially if we just beat them twice in the last OF's. not impossible.
  17. I'm still not clear on who is the major creditor. that was supposed to be Whyte but thanks to forlan we see that it could be Close Holdings. Does that mean we're screwed and the administrators will just asset-strip us?
  18. I have heard that SDM was actually TOLD by LLoyds to sell the club to Whyte so they could ride off with their £18m. If so, then why did Lloyds pick on us? They would have folded the club for sure. Now our debt is but a fraction of what the likes of Chelsea owe and they get away with it. Guess the difference is that their income covers their day-to-day running costs.
  19. Time for the 200,00 who were in Manchester to stand up. I'd gladly put in some if I knew if would help. Must be many more feel like me.
  20. Dutchy - it is not our OFFICIAL title as you well know. For what it's worth, I hate to see Celtic described as Glasgow Celtic by those south of Hadrians Wall; we're both famous enough brands to not require any additional naming. As I say, if we're going to be consistent, then why not London - or even Woolwich - Arsenal? QPR have mostly been called just that - by their initials.
  21. I have strong feelings about this. we should not require the soubriquet 'Glasgow'. You don't hear Arsenal called the London Arsenal; Feyenoord is called 'Feyenoord' not Feyenoord Rotterdam. Or even Edinburgh Hibernian. We are THE Rangers
  22. Know where you're coming from but I'd rather we re-built for a few years with good young players and kept them together. Time to stop chasing rainbows, for a while anyway.
  23. Even if we get a 3 year ban it's better being out of Europe on a technicality than having to suffer the embarrassment of any more Maribors or Malmoes... Gives us time to recover and re-group.
  24. Maybe the administrators will manage to remove Edu and McCulloch (despite his weekend performance), something Gersnet has signally failed to do...
  25. If Murray got us in this mess then maybe, just maybe, he should be the one to get us out. If you don't trust him - then do you trust the man he sold the club to?
