  1. It would mean we would have to play 3 rounds, one of which would be against a team the standard of Arsenal or Liverpool.
  2. I hope our green and white friends win tomorrow - I really do. And before anyone accuses me of base apostasy, let me explain: Y'see, it's all about the co-efficient. If Scotland lose out to near rivals Belgium in the rankings, one CL place only will be up for grabs - and even that will entail not automatic entry but 3 difficult qualifiers. And yet I hear that Mowbray is thinking of fielding a weakened team! WTF? It would not benefit them if they win the league, god forbid.
  3. That's a good point. Knowing et al, I bet we didn't.
  4. I have lived in spain and can say that the police have never quite shaken off their Franco fascist past. They seem to think they are a class apart.
  5. Exactly - and why was that? If they could not do anything in Europe no other Gers team could. I suggest it was because psychologically everything was about beating C****c - pathetic.
  6. Caption competition:"Get your hand in your pocket, Tom". "And bring your pal David Beckham as well."
  7. I agree. It's tacky and vulgar. Surprised Arsenal with their dignified history went for it.
  8. If that is the perception, then you wonder why they come here on trial in the first place? And we should be persuading them that they have a fantastic shop window here; that they would have a better chance of first team football with us (see D. Wilson) than the multi-million pound spending big four?
  9. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1234021/Liverpool-boss-Rafa-Benitez-set-tie-deal-Icelandic-starlet-Kristjan-Gauti-Emilsson.html So he was apparently on trial with us and we failed somehow to spot his potential. How come he's good enough for L'Pool and not us? Are our coaching staf really on the ball? I think we should be told.
  10. Hey, just suppose this supporters' scheme goes ahead. Some of our detractors might see it as an ideal example of workers' control and democratic management. It could set a dangerous precedent. Imagine the country or HBOS being run like this.
  11. I used to actually want RoI to win, being as they were a neighbour and all that. Now after the way the've behaved, I'd actually want England to thrash them.
  12. So being left-wing is incompatible with being a Rangers supporter? Since when?
  13. Surely we could get much more for him AFTER the World Cup when his profile will be raised?
  14. While I always thought Gough was manager material, I cannot agree with his suggestion that we need a few 'nasty' characters. I don't see how John Brown or Ian Ferguson would improve our current side; in their day they had ball players like Laudrup and Gazza to supplement their aggression. what we lack now is artistry and class - like the aforementioned Hleb. And we have big Lee to represent the street-fighting ingredient.
  15. If you Google 'Graham Duffy' - Grantly you will find the link at the top of the list; the company seems to be the Florida-based property company, not the U.K. ones listed in the RM article. Wherever that makes any difference or not, I'll leave that to the likes of Bluedell, who are more qualified than most of on here to judge.
  16. Wasn't calling you a Jeremiah actually, though it could have seemed that way. Just referring to the general malaise enveloping us right now. On the surveilance issue, the UK has the most spy cameras anywhere in Europe.
  17. Ah! Still, whenever someone comes up with a good idea to do with Rangers, there's always someone else ready to shoot it down in flames. Call it the Jeremiah syndrome if you like, but I'm waiting for an injection of some positivity.
  18. I know this guy is no Rangers lover, but with apologies for starting yet another Kris Boyd link, it certainly got me thinking. (Kierkegaard and Kant - pompous phart. Yes, I do know who they are..) http://scotlandonsunday.scotsman.com/top-stories/Tom-English-39If-Rangers-sell.5867483.jp
  19. Agreed. I'm sure when he was bought from Killie Walter said that he saw him as a striker.
  20. DJ - any chance you could post the link. I've read the Herald article but no mention of stadium changes?
  21. Actually it's a serious blow for us. Who else do they have who can run around for 90 minutes, give the ball away constantly and concede needless fouls while expecting to be sold for £4m?
