  1. As I understand it (and I can't remember where I read it) is that RFC erred by not declaring to the SFA that the EBT monies were for image rights, not payment per se. Now that is a technicality but the way we are being pursued is simply vindictiveness and that should be a matter for legal authorities. Could we not just go direct to the Council for Arbitration in Sport where the action of the SFA could be shown up for what it is. UEFA doesn't like clubs using legal redress but there is surely a precedent here in that we have already been punished for going into admin. - a far more draconian punishment than is normal, and our lawyers could argue that this latest threat goes against natural justice.
  2. If only we could afford him. How the hell can RoI consistently out-perform us when they have players who just as ordinary as ours? They won their last game with 2 goals in the last 2 minutes! Keane is the only one they have who is better than our strikers.
  3. Seems to be two-footed with a preference for the right. Not sure if he will be a starter or who he would replace. Cover for Templeton and maybe on the right in a 4-4-2? At least he's young and may develop here.
  4. I admit it is disputed but it's not unusual for one name to apply to different animals e.g. a 'pup' is a baby elephant.
  5. Actually a female bear is known as a sow and a male bear is a boar!
  6. Never argue with an idiot: he will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
  7. I'm sure I read some time before that, due to a freak accident, Dean has the use of only one eye. If so, GIRUY Paralympians.
  8. I'd love to know who the other 14 clubs are....
  9. Did you hear what Ally said? The SfA and Scotland should be seen as 2 different entities.
  10. I think you'll find Fletcher has refused to play for Levein and has failed to turn up to a meeting arranged by Levin at Wolves.
  11. But at least they generally make the group stages, they don't often fall foul of the Maribors and Malmoes. It's not ideal for them either but what is the alternative? I think RFC could when we are debt-free keep a group together long enough to give ourselves a fighting chance: we won't ever do that if we just rely on signing 'experienced' mercenaries.
  12. We should model ourselves on Ajax. They're forever selling players to the big leagues but they still manage to compete in the CL. They always seem to have a young player ready to step in to the shoes of the departed one. In a minor way we did this with McLeod coming in for Ness/McCabe. Maybe if McKay goes in the future he could be replaced by Charlie Telfer (see Elfideldo's blog). I would prefer this to seeing a procession of semi-retired journeymen winding down their career here.
  13. If what you say is true then we had better stop rearing young players - there would be no point at all. Surely now though, there will be no need for us to sell, like Killie and Aberdeen. Keep promising youths on long contracts and cash in when it suits US.
  14. Many thanks mate. You're doing a great job.
  15. By any chance is this the same bill mcMurdo the agent?
  16. Dear Elfideldo If anyone can answer this you can: What on earth has happened to Charlie Telfer who starred in the Glasgow Cup win and was lauded by Marc Wotte?
  17. Charlie Telfer from the U19s is missing. Don't tell me he was let go?
  18. Four year deal for Temps acc. to twitterer on BBc website. (Please forgive me for searching the beeb but I'm sure you'll understand...
  19. Needs to be someone who'll play every game. That may not be Jig. Agree Black could be a surprise choice.
  20. At CB we will have Argyriou,Cribari, Perry,Hegarty and Faure.Left back cover is more the worry.
  21. We really need McGowan now. Could understand if he turned us down because Div 3 could kybosh his Australia hopes. Not quite the same for Temps. He could be in the Champions League quicker with Rangers than with Herts. No ambition my arse!
  22. If this comes off it would be a stunning signing. It would mean we've replaced Aluko with Templeton, Naismith with Shiels, Edu with Black, Ness with McLeod, Whittaker with Argyriou, Lafferty with Little - plus we've unearthed McKay. Y'know - we could have a better team than a year ago. Wow.
  23. For those not old enough to remember: his Dad, Henry Templeton, was a great little winger for Ayr. In those days we produced wingers of that type as though it was a production line.
  24. You're putting an Alistair Campbell-type spin on things. Course I'm pleased that other clubs are envious. But we should never be a bloody nursery club for anyone; that's what we would be if we let youngsters go on the cheap before Rangers FC has had some mileage out of them. We may not be able to make big-money signings anymore but we should be financially sound enough to at least rebuff cursory approaches for our jewels. If you're happy for good young players to be cherry-picked for Everton reserves before they've played a dozen games for us (and with minimal compensation into the bargain) then you're a different kind of Rangers fan from me.
  25. You forgot to add Fink who I believe is 30. Younger players, like Templeton, with sell-on value - that must be our strategy now. I don't want to see us repeat the policy of the McLeish era when we were virtually an elephant's graveyard. We've already lost Ness and McCabe for no fees. Any selling now should be done only when we've had a reasonable service - say three years - from a good prospect.
