  1. A greater danger is that Ibrox could still be placed in hock if the EGM doesn't come soon enough. If that were to happen Ashley would effectively be holding us to ransom.
  2. Sorry, Aird and McGregor are still here, right? How are they loanees?
  3. You answer: neither, I am a Rangers supporter.
  4. Why are Celtic described as 'Celtic Glasgow' ? Why are we not 'Rangers Glasgow? I'll accept this term when we see London Arsenal on the gates of the Emirates.
  5. I'm unhappy with giving too much of my information online so I would prefer to pay by cheque.
  6. All good suggestions but McCall is a Rangers first member so unlikely to support the board (they won't want a fifth columnist in there) and Billy Reid is likely a bluenose.
  7. That's about the only hope I have now - if Sarver joins up with the 3 B's.
  8. Read that the incumbents can deal with Parkco. but not King. Why? This seems petty and personal; it cannot be because of a power struggle because King has made it clear he does seek sole control. I just dont understand what they have against him unless it's because he has the interests of the club at heart.
  9. It's my birthday today. If this is confirmed could be the best present I could wish for. The wife gave me aftershave...
  10. That's starting to make me change my view away from Sarver. Yet Sarver I'm sure said he would work alongside the the 3b consortium? Anyone know if he has retracted from that position?
  11. Hang on, it says 'he's bought a one per cent stake' - not alleged, given as an actual fact. Why would he do that if it was an ailing club?
  12. Problem is Kingco are not in a position to launch a takeover. Sarver has said he will work with them and now Alistair Johnston is saying he seems far more genuine than Bill Miller, for example.
  13. You're missing my point which is that a rich businessman would get more out of owning us than a run of the mill EPL club who are unlikely ever to make the CL. Forget Celtic's 'exploits'. Any half-decent side should be able to win the SPL. After that it's a case of investing enough to get past the qualifiers. With a fraction of the expenditure of, say, Aston Villa we would soon be back in the CL. Of course, we couldn't sail thru the CL with the lack of investment we have at the moment.
  14. I was waiting to see who'd be the first. Can't we just accept good news anymore? Why Rangers? Well, for a start, he'd get almost guaranteed entry to the Champions League ( after things have settled down and we've got a proper manager) and that's more likely than buying an EPL club , most of whom will be outside the first four; and secondly. Aston Villa and Liverpoolhave been US -owned. Didn't do them any harm. The potential here is just as it always was. Forty thousand attendances for a third tier club? Go figure as they say. I'd be happier with an American than the likes of Vincent Tan.
  15. Surely this has to be good news. Surely it has to be accepted? Surely it means King can find a way back in at the expense of the Ashley block?
  16. Reading that I cannot see how it can be interpreted that they are considering the Kingco offer. They seem to be hell-bent on more short-term loans as against proper funding. Maybe our best hope now is that we can force an EGM?
  17. We're not really disagreeing actually. McLean is just an example, someone who could be a replacement for Lewis. To get players at the standard we want would require a sizeable transfer budget. One thing that must, categorically, end is the purchase of those into their late twenties or thirties who have had their chance; no more Steven Smiths, or going back, Ostenstads, Capucho etc.
  18. Yes, but does it have to be that way? Remember the golden generation of ManU (Beckham, Scholes, Giggs etc?) That surely wasn't just down to luck but to a conscious decision to invest in youth. RFC should be looking to take promising talent from the lower Scottish leagues or grab players like Kenny McLean from St Mirren before big guns like Fleetwood and Brentford beat us to the punch. We can then build a transfer budget by selling on the best types for reasonable fees. Look at Southampton; they sold an entire team but have been enabled to buy good quality replacements.
  19. Just so you know, Stuart Urquhart left Coventry in August and is now with Dunfermline. But your point still stands.
  20. Yeah, they might be capitalist bastards, but they're OUR capitalist Bastards!
  21. I have and Brentford are in a false position - they're just having a good season, that's all. I'm a fan of McLeod as well as RFC and want the best for him. A Derby or a Leicester would be better.
  22. That's not the point. If we are going to lose him then it should be to a top Championship club if not a club from the lower EPL. Otherwise he will tread the same path as Jamie Ness, whom Walter thouight was the best young player he'd seen. Too many young Scots have jumped ship only to flounder in the lower English reaches. Our club used to be the first point of call for Scotland players.
