  1. Would be good to have a Ranger in the Scotland squad. We used to be mainstays. Halliday could be a contender too in the not too distant.
  2. Most of us are disappointed. Can only think that he's not the ball-playing defender Warb favours. Ball can offer cover though.
  3. For what it's worth I think they lack the mental toughness to defend a slender lead abroad, no matter who they play.
  4. And we moan about the poor standard of Scottish football which will only get worse as they get worse....if we are starved of competition we also get sucked further into the morass. Their embarrassing efforts only help us if we can get out of this league into one where their is stronger competition.. and there is nowhere but Scotland for us to go. Sorry if we are a one horse race we will never do anything in Europe.
  5. If Celtic get put out that damages Scotland's co-efficient and makes it that much harder for us to qualify when we eventually get back into contention. We should be lambasting them for letting Scotland down not rejoicing because they get beat.
  6. Is that just wishful thinking on your part or is there some substance to it?
  7. That's the point: he could be perfect playing just behind Waghorn. Not sure who we have who suits that role as well as him.
  8. It's not unusual for a new manager to make his first signings people he knows. That's what MW is doing. Got to be a darn sight better than the dross we have hitherto been served with.
  9. It's the same at the one in Nuneaton!
  10. Bill Stickers will be prosecuted. But Bill Stickers is innocent.
  11. Then put it down to bad advice from his agent; things were very complicated at the time.
  12. Bizarre. I'd have never accepted them ruining their careers to play for us in lower divisions. Was a golden chance for us to blood some youth which we never took.
  13. Betrayal? In what way is he different from McGregor, say? Could we really expect Scotland players to give international places and play in the Scottish 3rd division? All in the name of loyalty? Lee Wallace was the exception - he may have harmed his career by staying here. But, hey he was loyal so that's all that matters. Naimith in his off-field activities has proved a good role model, with his comments about the unemployed etc.
  14. I went off Souness after he dumped us to join Liverpool. IMO he used us as a stepping stone as he had apparently always wanted to manage L'pool and actually described them as a bigger club than 'Gers IIRC. At that time they certainly were not; he could have have stayed and saw us turn into a successful club in Europe. A real Rangers man would never have done that. So his latest comment is disingenuous at best for me.
  15. I heard this announced at 7pm on the Radio 3 news headlines! Radio 3 for God's sake! They have never featured anything positive about our club. God save the Queen and the BBC.
  16. Has he though? I didn't hear anything in his post EGM interview to suggest that. And what role is Magath lined up for? Is he going to oversee/shadow a young Cathro?
  17. Just keep things as they are. I hate the way the BBC keep changing their website and I don't want to have to navigate round a Gersnet when I've only just got used to the current one. Miserable old git loyal!
  18. If Magath was Director of Football, I'd say we could worse than take a chance on this guy. It would certainly herald a move away from the long ball game which has all but killed us in recent years.
  19. Numan and Magath could be a dream team.
  20. Magath must be given a role, especially as he's a key shareholder now too. General Manager? Albertz didn't seem to think he was at his best as a British style manager. I'd give him control over development, scouting and handling of young players generally. Cathro- would certainly change our playing style but coaches who have turned managers have not usually performed too well. Depends if we want a clean break from the Rangers background or not. Billy Davies surely wouldn't be too dear. Also I'd think Steven Pressley is worth a shout; has a good record with young players and was unfortunate at Coventry after a great start with no budget and off field issue ie a club in chaos. Actually we have quite a list now of former players with experience: Terry Butcher Stuart McCall Derek Mcinnes B. Ferguson B. Davies John Brown Richard Gough Must have missed some too..
  21. Whatever, we should stop these puerile insults like calling it the Daily Rhebel. To the dark side it is a'Unionist supporting rag.' Keith Jackson seems to be writing things that we would need to hear, even if it is not always sweet to our ears/
  22. I made a mistake. So I am the one idiot who voted against the appointment of Gilligan! For the record I want Gilligan on the board. (Thought I was voting FOR). Feel free to call me an idiot.
  23. On a more serious note could the purchase of Easdale proxies affect the EGM in any way, that is make it more of a knife edge?
