  1. Tavernier has been a boon to us in the lower tier with his 14 or 15 goals. But the guy cannot defend. I think we may have to sacrifice his goals for a more conventional right back.
  2. Care to elaborate on that?
  3. I think he meant the 'lumpenproletariat'. I am proud to be called working class.
  4. Seems a balanced article by richard Wilson. To be fair, most of the media are blaming the Hibs fans. Imagine if this was a terrorism incident. The authorities are very quick to use social media and video footage. Should be able to do the same here.
  5. I heard a Hibs player say they worked on set pieces all week; they got 2 goals from them. What input is D. Weir having? Must do something about the right side of our defence, particularly.
  6. Slightly off topic maybe but how come we don't see pitch invasions in the English FA cup final? Is Wembley fenced? Can they legally fence people in these days? If not how do they stop it?
  7. That might be the answer but what happens every time we bring this up? This board fills up with folk telling us how England doesn't want us and it would never happen, blah blah.. The recent football league re-vamp might finally give us that chance.
  8. That would be punishing the support. I think that's a good idea and I'm sure Eufa have plenty of precedents with Italian clubs for example.
  9. I'm not sure Eufa would allow that. Is there a precedent. In any event I wanted us to qualify fairly; giving the spot to us would be like the Legia Warsaw scenario with the Keltic. I want a bit of dignity.
  10. That's a better suggestion; punish the 'fans.'
  11. Exactly - the fans, so-called. They can surely be identified. They don't care what punishment the club would get
  12. You punish the offenders. Somewhere there's a video footage of a Rangers player being attacked. It's a law and order matter. Should we have punished for Manchester? Some of those there were nothing to do with us.
  13. That short Rangers bench said it all. Mr King take note...
  14. So you think clubs should be responsible for the conduct of their fans no matter what? Security at Hampden was up to the SFA not the Hibz club. If it was the other way round and it was our fans would you really want RFC to be punished?
  15. But it was the Hibs supporters to blame. Can we really blame the club however much we dislike Petrie? See my earlier post re Barcelona 72. You wouldn't want us to be blamed for the actions of some of our fans would you?
  16. Watch we don't have double standards here. In 1972 we were banned from Europe for 2 years after our fans were battered by Franco's fascist police and retaliated. There was nothing we could do over who chose to follow us. You might as well blame the club for the weather. As I said, there is enough evidence for action to be taken against rioting Hibs fans - the real culprits.
  17. Agree punishment is needed. But clubs should not be punished for actions of their supporters. There is surely enough camera and video evidence to prosecute scores of Hibee individuals.
  18. I'm worried about him now. He's not the player he was at the start of the season. Think Windass will edge him out next season. Windass, Rossiter and Halliday?
  19. If his goal had been the winner I could have forgiven Halliday for anything. Just before it we were starting to dominate possession, aided in no small measure by Zelalem. More fans should start to see his qualities - he never gave the ball away once and was not brushed off it often. Once again though it's our central defence; this time I thought Wilson was blameless. I wonder if MW made a big mistake in letting last year's player of year McGregor go - he and Wilson might have been a better pairing.
  20. this is what we get for our so-called 'loyalism'? From the Conservative and Unionist Party! I was brought up to think we were the establishment club, the Real Madrid of Scotland. Maybe we should fly the Scotland flag; Keltic fly the Tricolour. We are a Scottish club. We seem to get no thanks from the English for all our 'British' boasts.
  21. I switched over to watch the FA Cup final and missed that. Right at the final whistle all I saw were green fans on the pitch - no fighting. Sure it wasn't blown up out of proportion?
  22. I was actually enjoying the BBC coverage (on the Red button with De Boer in the studio) until right at the end. That bloody Liam McLeod said, and I'm sure I didn't mis-hear - "The Rangers fans are rioting on the pitch." All I could see was a mass of green and white fans celebrating. Should be a formal complaint to Auntie because of that.
  23. Thought I'd beat Ian1964 to this bit of breaking news: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36338244
  24. 'Pitch geography' 'defensive eye' - I'm really getting educated on here. Maybe we should refer to goalkeepers having a sense of geometry! In that regard, Foderingham is a little lacking.
