  1. 2-2! Maybe not a disaster looming!
  2. Christ! Both centre halves given 2 goals away. Senderos should have picked up Dembele for the first.
  3. Think we need to get Nico off; he's on a yellow so get Halliday on.
  4. He has a football brain in amongst all the midfield mayhem.
  5. Totally agree. Much too much negativity about us from the likes of McCoist and McCann. Brown's appalling touch and terrible passing will be an asset for us.
  6. I'd squeeze MOH in because of his pace - we'll need that against them. Forrester could move into Windass's place to make way.
  7. The picture IS of Gordon but op was talking about De Vries.
  8. I normally have time for Waddell but here he seems to equate singing and assaults. Hope somebody who has access to twitter points this out to him.
  9. But would you (or Rangers fans in general) be happy playing the likes of Forest Green Rovers, Fleetwood, Dagenham and Redbridge for example? Think it is insulting for RFC to be branded among these clubs. The best prospect for us was the Premier League 2 failed proposal which the then Bolton chairman wanted.
  10. Suppose you'd be happy then if we left Scottish football and joined the proposed new League 3 in Eng. Must admit there are attractions in that but my preference is for an Atlantic League where we will encounter a far higher standard of football than we get in Scotland.
  11. No, I hadn't read that at that time. Fair enough. I also think it's childish to conflate the SFA with the international side. Suppose you'd be happy if we played no World Cups, Euro matches etc. Players have or should have ambition: most would want to play for their country.
  12. Serious question: I thought you couldn't just pull out of a competitive game unless excused by the medical staff of one's country? This was designed to stop clubs feigning injury of their players then playing them in the next club match? Didn't know about Lee being told he wouldn't play v Linfield. As for Griffiths and Tierney I would hope their injuries are genuine too.
  13. This is the World Cup not a friendly. Don't anybody on here ever complain again if he gets overlooked. I thought countries had the power now to demand release from clubs, that absence due to injury was only allowed after examination by the doctor of the national squad. I'm not celebrating - I'm disappointed in Lee.
  14. Brave not to include Joey and Niko but clearly Barton and Rossiter cannot play in the same team.
  15. I'm hoping Senderos can do for Wilson what Weir did - make him look a confident player. Hope he talks him through games as we seem to fall down in communication.
  16. McCormack has reputedly said that he will only turn up if he is guaranteed to start; no player can make those kind of demands. In any event not sure he can play lone striker. Rhodes can't play as a one either and that is the formation - 4.2.3.1
  17. Fans on here complain when Strachan doesnt select Rangers players like wallace, then when he does, they don't want them to play!
  18. Griffiths is injured with a hamstring, though he might be saving himself for the OF game. Tierney dunno, but Forrest is still in the squad.
  19. In 2004, the club was re-established by a group of fans as 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig. The renewed side had to start in the lowest league eleventh-tier 3. Kreisklasse, Staffel 2 in 2004–05. Even so, they continued to receive solidly enthusiastic fan support: their game against Eintracht Großdeuben's second team in the Leipzig Zentralstadion on 9 October 2004 broke the world record for lower-league attendance with an astounding 12,421 spectators in the stands. I wonder if they have to put up with the 'new club' nonsense that we get? Clubs are dissolved and re-formed all the time.
  20. You're thinking of Ryan Gauld, the 'mini-Messi'. He's now on loan to a top-flight Portuguese club. Think he's less likely to make it than Burke. I know there are late developers but if can't play by the time you're 19 you never will.
  21. He did get the sending off right though! And for me that first penalty shout from Sutton was nothing of the sort (Hill handball).
  22. Being outpaced by Kris Boyd - Kris Boyd! - and then him scoring with his weaker foot says it all. Bring on MOH for Kenny, he's not enjoying this game.
  23. n recent years, Palestinian leaders, writers and refugees have spoken out in the Palestinian media, blaming the Arab leadership for the creation of the Palestinian refugee problem. According to these accounts, and contrary to the Palestinian myth that hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were deported by Israel in 1948, the vast majority of the Arab exodus from Israel was voluntary, and the result of orders by the Arab leadership. Well that is the first time I have heard that view promulgated it is true. I will research it but I object to your spin on my view to make it sound, 'Israeli bad, Palestinian good'; in truth I reject both nationalist perspectives in favour of what is best for the working class of both communities. That includes supporting those Israeli workers who are consistently struggling for union rights. My wife studied Hebrew theology and we met people from the synagogue who were implacably opposed to the prevailing orthodoxy in their country. Matters are further complicated by the fact that according to them the really religious Jews were persecuted over there. Not forgetting the thousands of Palestinian Jews who were settled long before 1948 and who were ostensibly bothering nobody.
  24. [b Some of the Zionists would wish exactly that. If, as you say, you are on the left on most issues then you would surely appreciate that the concept of imperialism and post-imperialism is the cause of most of the world's woes today. Yet you want to pin the blame on the Palestinians (who are not just Hamas) whose representatives have fragmented and split on tactics many times, including Hamas itself. That doesn't alter the fact that an artificially created state caused, it is reckoned, 700,00 to flee and retreat into a horde of refugee camps which are still there today. As for Egypt, I fully supported the Arab Spring but that's for another thread.
