  1. Changed my mind about Tav. On another thread I said I would take a fee for him but £2m from WBA was an insult. Captaincy has brought out the best in him. Can't wait for him and Barisic to go marauding on either flank.
  2. Mmmm...... with John away Lee Wallace may be needed.
  3. I've never heard that either but always understood 'keelie' as pejorative. 'Weegie' may have originated as a pejorative term by the trainspotters, but I think we should embrace and own it - I would not be too upset to be called a 'weegie' - been called worse! You're right about the Patrick O'Brian reference to 'scouse' - I have heard that also.
  4. Would you say the same about ''scouse'? It's actually a type of stew!
  5. Think you could add a * to Dorrans too though it pains me to say it. I fear injury has taken its toll of a player I always liked. Oh, and has Holt gone yet?
  6. Lafferty only a short term fix for me. How's about McBurnie? Scored for Swansea on Saturday.
  7. Love the wee man. Showed great restraint. Racism is a cancer in our society. This jerk abusing him has no reasoning nodes in his brain. You can and should be locked up for that sort of abuse.
  8. McCrorie could fit in to a back 3 at a pinch. And what about the young lad Bradley? Ok I know he looked shaky in the friendly but he must have potential. If we keep Tav. he would be an ideal wing back.
  9. I mentioned this conundrum on another thread. Wouldn't be a problem if Tav wasn't captain and a reliable penalty taker. We can all remember countless examples from previous seasons when his lack of defensive discipline gave us problems. Now, I think his stock has risen nonetheless so wouldn't be surprised if we could get decent money for him from a West Brom or a Bournemouth or a Burnley for example. The captaincy problem can be easily resolved: gentlemen I give you Mr Ryan Jack. Penalties I'm unsure about. Arfield? We get Barasic then we pretty much have 2 players of quality for each position 'cept maybe striker.
  10. I would make sure Sir Barristan Selby knows that!
  11. SG has a real conundrum with Tav. He's skipper so can't be dropped, but he has the more capable defender in Flanagan playing not on his preferred side. If he switches him to his natural position, what becomes of James?
  12. Think back a year. In just 3 games SG has virtually obliterated the shame that Pedro inflicted on our club. In fact I would like all players associated with him to be moved on. Onlt that bothers me is that we still rely too much on loanees a la Warburton. However, they, in particular, Kent and Ejaria , seem to be a class above what we have had. The naysayers on here should have a little more faith.
  13. oh the qualification rules are a mess - no doubt about that. Personally I would not accept the grandfather rule - it would have spared Scotland from some terrible diddies .
  14. Compare that with Mr Aidan McGeady or James McCarthy - a bit like the Keown situation. Appalled that such racist comments can come from Germans.
  15. He should never have played for Germany but for the land of his heritage. Though why he would support Erdogan is beyond me. Bad enough being a Turk in Germany but nothing like being a Kurd in Turkey.
  16. Think we are away first.
  17. Listening to this on Radio Scotland; your texts are coming in a fraction earlier!
  18. Morelos is just not at the level where we want to be. We should have snapped up any offer we had for him. In other news I've just heard that Harry Wilson has gone to Frank Lampard instead of Steve G.
  19. Morelos is not really comfortable as a lone striker - may be better as a second striker.
  20. Yes, I'm not a fan of Morelos. If we were really offered 6Million we should have bitten their hands off. Sooner we get the big lad Shafiq the better.
