Now that's a promising looking signing. A 23 year old midfielder with Premiership experience, Northern Ireland internationalist and a Bluenose too. Hopefully his loan is just the start of a long & successful career here.

It gives them an erection. Go on, say it to yourself. "My source says we're signing Ronaldo". I can feel a stirring already. Why not just say.... "I heard on Radio Clyde/read on the Evening Times site that WS is bolstering forward line by signing Craig Brewster".

I think Clyde reported it first and its since been picked up by a couple of the papers. Bit of a strange one as I thought he was right-sided so that's hardly a priority just now is it?

Did anyone think its because he's a bluenose and would love to play for us? Or he wants a new challenge? Given the fact its probably not for the money, I think we should be delighted

How big is Celtic's squad now anyway? But like Ally, I'm just concerned we haven't really moved forward during this window while looking at getting in 10M+ for two of our best players. You'd have hoped that we'd have player(s) lined up to come in as the Cousin and Hutton deals have been rumoured for so long now that the club obviously knew what the likely outcome was. A creative midfielder is a must, but I still think we have a problem at left midfield and Adam needs someone to come in and pressure him for his place, that might buck his ideas up a bit. Papac has done very well at LB, but does get caught out a bit. He's probably good enough to stay there until next season though as I wouldn't want us to rush Smith back. Do we need another striker? Depends on what system WS is going to play. While JCD doesn't lead the line as well as Cousin did, I think he can still play up front on his own away in Europe where we just need someone to work tirelessly and make runs. i think that's different to the situation we find ourself in week-in, week-out, in the SPL, where I think any of our strikers could do a job against most teams. Moore's name is mentioned a lot and tbh I don't know much about him. He is young enough though that we should give him a chance, but 3.5M is a lot of money for that sort of player. Unfortunately that's the going rate for that sort of player from the EPL. I'm rambling now. I think what I'm saying is that I'd like to see us tie up a couple of loan deals today unless the right players are available to buy. Otherwise we need to keep the money until the summer and spend the bulk of it on a single player, one of those special players who can turn games and bring a real bit of spark and drive to our midfield. At least we know we're not going to be linked with Robbie Fowler or Alan Smith in this window.

I thought Whittaker did well and he played some good balls in to the box as well as playing himself out of danger quite well. He did make some basic mistakes though, usually as a result of being closed down or trying to take on one man too many, but those sort of things should sort themself out over time. Its good to see how keen he is to get forward though. Weir is starting to worry me though. McCulloch contributed nothing though and I hope WS sees that he doesn't bring anything to the team when asked to play up top. Adam needs a kick up the backside or something. Very frustrating player to watch and you really wonder if its the same guy who we know is skillful and can strike a ball so well as for much of the game he seems to be replaced by someone with no talent whatsoever. I think its shown that we still need someone who can play on the left side of midfield, even if its only to put pressure on Adam to up his game and sort his attitude out. Last night we could have played anyone else up front with McCulloch and they'd have struggled to do worse.

I saw glimpses again of what Hemdani can do when going forward. Should we unleash him and just give him a more attacking role and see what happens? I think it would be Hemdani for me followed closely by Fergie and Burke.

Nice one Frankie! Apart from the knee injury obviously... I often wonder just how good you have to be to make it at the top level as none of the players I played with when I was younger "made it".

And Dailly has now signed too, just until the end of the season.

Good news on the face of it, but could have huge ramifications for all of football.

They've been linked with Lafferty for the last week or so. As usual, players will be linked with us or offered to us as well as Celtic as we're the only two possible clubs up here for many players in terms of fees, wages and from a player's point of view as well.

The only thing is, what sort of message does it send out to the younger players and those who aren't in the first XI at the moment? I think its a sensible signing, but surely we have enough options to cope with even a few injuries at the moment? A creative, attacking midfielder is what we need Walter.

I don't think he'd be a bad signing as a squad player. I know he's one of those whipping-boy figures among many supporters, but you simply don't get those many caps and play those many games in England if you're rubbish. Problem is, I can't see where he'd play in our team, but maybe its because of his versatility that WS sees him as good cover for a few positions.

There were lots of rumours last night, as there have been over the last few days. Its just the nature of the transfer window I guess.

His talent isn't in any doubt, but if he doesn't want to be here, then I'd not be bothered if he leaves.

I'm SO excited at the moment by those rumours.

Sorry, I'm stuck on a conference call so am just on the web obsessively as the call is dull as f**k. A poster on FF who has a good track record with info before has said that Hutton is still in London and the deal will go through, its never been in any doubt apparently.
