  1. And the nominees are..... .....bizarre in some respects. Not sure I understand that list really.
  2. Sorry, couldn't resist it :fish:
  3. Superb! Just got back in, thought I'd check the results and couldn't believe what I was seeing! Fantastic stuff
  4. Frankie, its just the same old Walter Smith for me. We knew exactly what we were getting when he came back and he's not really surprised me tbh. But as you pointed out elsewhere, I think the team is over-achieving to a certain extent this season. His priority was obviously to make us harder to beat and to become competitive again, which he's managed. We're all grateful for that and its amazing just how he's turned things around in such a short space of time. But there's no doubt he needs to address some serious problems in the summer which, IMO, have been a problem for as long as I can remember now. Settled strike partnership, attacking midfielder, decent wingers etc. Its also a disappointing trend for The Gers to continually play players out of position. I genuinely don't understand why WS continues this trend and also, refuses to drop certain players to rest them or if they've played poorly. Some seem to contribute nothing over 90 minutes and then they're a first pick the next week. Also, has anyone told our players that Alan Hutton doesn't play for us any more? Going on how much of the ball Broadfoot saw last night, I swear they think Hutton is still in the RB slot. If that's our best attacking option, then its going to be a really long title run-in. As for the squad, its baffling as to why some of the other players aren't getting a run-out. I also think that the longer the season goes on without these guys getting a game, the less likely WS is to play them in the run-in. Which means we're relying on the usual faces even more. I'm more than OK with us winning while not playing well, even though its awful to watch, but I really hope this is just a short-term plan and not how we're going to be playing for the foreseeable future.
  5. And speaking about yellow cards, why was he booked the first time when he was clearly being told to take the free kick from the wrong position? Maybe these things even themselves out. No mention of that in the media though....
  6. Its just embarrassing in some of the paper reports (and associated comments) I've read though. Next to no mention of the behaviour of their players and how a number were lucky to stay on the park. Was good to see Thomson having his say via the Record online today though.
  7. You can quite clearly see it in the replay that Brown trips himself up and stumbles before any contact from Whittaker is made. I think he'd have got a penalty if he'd gone down, but he never, so what's the problem?
  8. Apparently he's been making some very strange decisions at PSG but the board have decided its too late in the season to sack him. Maybe the league cup final win will instill some confidence in to the team and keep them up.
  9. lol Everything I've seen so far has been agent talk or small comments in interviews which have been blown out of proportion or quoted out of context.
  10. Result! Better put Gribzy on suicide watch though.
  11. I've been really impressed by him and he just keeps getting better. He's been a bit of a steal tbh.
  12. Yip, the plan is to give whatever I make to the charity. I wonder how much a cold beer is out in Morocco? Much cheapness I'm guessing Its usually about 150 miles. But I'm in serious denial about it at the moment. Definitely the best way forward.
  13. Yip, just something I've always wanted to do. No idea why! Thought its a different (nuts) enough event to try and raise some money as well for a worthwhile cause. I never thought of using them to try and raise some cash, that's not a bad idea at all. Hmmm..... And sponsored by the mile? Excellent idea. Can I just stick everyone on here down for £1 a mile then?
  14. If you're not well enough to go to school, then you're not well enough to be on the internet either Fraser....
  15. Fully intend to go, whether we get there or not. If I can't make it, I'd offer them on places like here. I'm not interested in selling them on for a profit or anything like that.
  16. ascender

    do you?

No need. My boss is a Bear and the other guys in the team tend to be local lads who support Hearts or Hibs.
  17. I have to say I couldn't believe the stories this morning about the Japan tour and its timing. I'd expect nothing less though from them. Bain should come out tomorrow and remind people exactly why our games have been postponed.
  18. Oops.... Looks like I got a pair
  19. I thought we had an option to buy him for an agreed fee in the summer? Or was that reliant on the Cousin deal going through maybe? As things stand, I'd be gutted if he left. It looks like we should be building our midfield around him and Thomson for the next while.
  20. Soti was a complete car crash of a defender if I remember rightly. Signing him would be a step backwards for us. Centre back is one area where I think we're more than well covered, unless we could get a really special player to come in, someone like another Cuellar.
  21. The thing about injuries, knocks, strains etc is that they respond best to rest. That gets even more important as you get older. So its perfectly reasonable for any athlete to behave like this or for a doctor to recommend it. The problem is that we live in such a parochial society, that its just another excuse to bash the OF and its pretty tiresome tbh.
  22. I never bother as they just wind me up. Same as checking out forums of other clubs. The rampant hatred of anything OF form every other club, the conspiracy theories from every club and from the yahoos, I just can't be arsed with it tbh.
  23. They summed it up well though when they did the split screen thing with Rafa and Mascherano. As soon as he went over towards the ref, Benitez was trying to get him to stop, so he knew what was going to happen.
  24. If we'd signed him a few years earlier then maybe he would have gone on to become a legend for us IMO. As it was, he was past his best when he came here but at least showed he cared about the club & the fans and always gave his all. A model pro.
  25. Underwhelmed, but I didn't honesty expect any massive news tbh. I'm not sure why the media hyped this up to be something amazing. The ticket thing is a nice gesture though surely? Gribz, SDM says that they're close to putting in an initial planning application, so that's still very much on the cards by the look of it.
