  1. So what are the penalties for going in to administration? 10 points deduction isn't it? If this came to pass, would our sole creditor be HMRC? If so, how much damage would be done to the club's reputation if everything else is in order? Part of the thing that's always tough when a local business goes under is seeing the other small/local businesses who are affected in-turn, but if all this in order, what would the damage be? Apart from giving everyone else another reason to hate us.... If everything else is in order, surely HMRC would rather agree terms on a payment plan than just have us go out of business and risk getting feck all? In fact I'm sure they'd object to us trying to go in to voluntary administration, so I'm wondering what are the sequence of events that would see this happening? I can understand the appeal to someone coming in and getting the club for a song with in effect, a clean slate. But once the Lloyds debt is paid, do we not have the basis & potential for a solid business assuming its run prudently and there's no more gross over-spending in wages and fees? Sorry, just more questions and random thoughts....
  2. Given just how much uncertainty there's been over the last 12 months or so, I can't believe some people are trying to score points on being right/wrong in things they've written during that time. That kind of stuff is understandable when original articles are based on well-known facts or widely-accepted truths, but the only thing we have known in recent times is that we don't officially know anything. Many facts about how things have been behind the scenes at Ibrox have only come to light as a result of the interim figures being released and AJ's comments on Friday. Some of the egos on display on Gers internet forums and fans groups are incredible. And then you have the same people wondering why the support can't unite as one......
  3. I can't stand Chick Young so hate to say that he kind of has a point. Well, he would have, if he had then gone on to ask AJ about the nod explicitly which is something Traynor said and would surely have occurred to anyone with half a braincell, let alone a bunch of journalists. That session clearly wasn't "off the record", so why on earth did someone not ask AJ to clarify his nod and gorilla comments exactly. But Traynor made some excellent points around this and it was very funny to hear him saying how much it amused him to see how out of touch Young was with the whole takeover stuff given his past x number of years of trying to cosy up to Murray. It was also funny to see Young try and explain his way out of how he took some of the vague and non-specific comments and decided himself to make them explicit in terms of the club going in to administration. Was most amusing to hear Young desperately trying to talk his way out of things, like a kid who's been caught stealing and then denies everything.
  4. Its all bollocks in the press and the way this deal has gone so far has just gone to prove how much rubbish journos are willing to print. Those who were saying that Whyte was just a Murray stooge and wasn't serious also seem to have change their tune or gone quiet. But amazingly no-one calls any of these so-called professionals to task and they just carry on as if nothing happened.

    Muir

Some more straight talking from AJ. Does this just confirm that the gloves are indeed off and he is satisfied that Whyte is the man to take us over?
  6. Also, this 2.8M for the other tax issue going back to Advocaat's reign, is this the first its been mentioned? Why now? Does make you wonder just what else is lurking in Murray's closet... With Muir leaving MIH, is he away from the Gers as well? Lots of wee interesting bits and pieces from the last couple of days or so.
  7. So, are some of AJ's comments today designed to try and force Murray's hand a bit in terms of making a decision quickly and also what the potential consequences are of him not coming to an agreement with Whyte?
  8. So we should know one way or the other in the next few days.
  9. If this goes through, the first thing any new owner needs to do is grow a pair of balls and stop letting the media print whatever the hell they like about our club and its supporters.
  10. Press conference is just about the interim results though I think. If anything more than that was happening I'm sure we'd have heard one way or the other by now.
  11. So it sounds like a few media outlets are mis-reporting the actual content of the results in their sound-bites. There's a shock...
  12. Thanks for the info Frankie. I was half asleep when I heard the headlines this morning and did a double take when I heard the debt had actually gone up.
  13. Sky saying nothing is likely today or tomorrow. But if they know as much as we do then all I know is that I know nothing.
  14. How has that happened though? I was only 11 when this happened but remember it like it was yesterday. I'm not sure how anyone can think Murray had anything to do with that.
  15. The problem with offering streams of live games to UK punters is that the other clubs would never go for it. I know that these other clubs can't seem to make their mind up as to whether they need the old firm or not, but when it comes down to money they are quick enough to speak up and change their view to suit their bank balance.
  16. I'm with you, I just want him to get the fvck out and I wrote that post with more than a hint of irony, but I can't for the life of me figure out his thinking or his actions over the last however-many-years. He clearly loved the club at some point so you must think he still does care about its future, but if that's the case, how has he let it get to this stage? He must have surrounded himself with some very loyal people to be able to just disappear from the fans and for very little to come out about exactly what's gone on behind the scenes.
  17. One consistent thing Murray has always said is that he'll only ever sell the club to someone who has the means to take it to the next level or words to that effect. Of course, given how negligent he's been in the running of the club in recent years, its hard to believe he has the brass neck to come out with that, but I'm assuming he still has some sort of feeling for the club so maybe we should trust him on that one?
  18. I thought in the past, SDM had ruled out selling the club to anyone who didn't have the best of intentions in mind and those who couldn't provide evidence that they had the funds & plans in place to back these intentions up? If there is serious doubt surrounding Whyte's credentials and financial backing, how on earth has it got this far and been strung out for so long? If there's rumours that he's a chancer then there's no way guys in Ibrox and LBG won't have heard the same rumours and I'm assuming looked in to them? You can't keep anything secret in Scottish football or business, let alone in a deal like this that's been going on for how many months now? Will be interesting to see what happens and what comes out in the wash because with the media interest in it over the last few days, if it collapses, there will be a lot of people demanding to know why.
  19. So the sources/insiders can't even agree on something so insignificant or significant as this car park which just goes to show we still don't know who to trust and should just ignore the lot of them until we get an official statement from Rangers or Whyte.
  20. Oooooooooo, you can't dangle a carrot like that and then just wander off BD. Spill what you've heard......
  21. I'm with Maineflyer on this one, at the moment all I care about is getting rid of Murray. I genuinely don't know how things can be any worse with a new owner given how our esteemed owner has done all he can to run the club in to the ground.
  22. I'm confused. Any money owed to LBG whether a loan or overdraft surely has a contract in place and this contract would cover fees such as those liable under early repayment. Are LBG simply holding out for what's owed under the terms of an existing agreement rather than blocking a sale as such?
  23. Has he ever performed consistently well throughout his entire career? He's one of those players who seems to go from club to club for reasonable money & wages without actually doing anything of note.
  24. Nae chance I'm getting excited after the last time stories like this broke although I've said all along that no news was hopefully good news this time round. When's season ticket renewal time?
  25. Quite understated and subtle for him tbh.
