  1. We've no idea how the finances will stack up though. If the other big earners leave and McGregor wants to stay, it might not be an issue to keep him for a season in division one. There's so much up in the air at the moment until certain details are confirmed.
  2. It's still not been clarified if the players even have a binding contract with us which is worrying. I fact it defies all logic that this wasn't investigated fully by the club or pfa months ago when liquidation was clearly an option.
  3. No-one in their right mind would renew before the spl vote and/or waiting to see what happens with Green in terms of his intentions and any possible Walter-lead move to buy him out. I don't think there's any need for an organised boycott of tickets when most fans will surely sit tight anyway given all that's going on just now.
  4. Does anyone know how much involvement in the running of the club guys like Dave King and Paul Murray actually had? On the face of it, I'd be dubious about anyone who was previously involved at board level in recent times under Murray, but the flip side to that is that the last 7 years or so have been very murky indeed and I'm still none the wiser as to what's actually gone on behind the scenes.
  5. The division 1 thing is probably getting mentioned because it's the easiest one from a logistical point of view. They just relegate and promote one extra club and can also say to sponsors that contracts can be reviewed in 12 months time when it's possible we'll be back in the spl. I have to say that I've favoured division three just from the point of view of all these talks of hammering us with points deductions over three years, not being in Europe etc. plus if other clubs think the grass would be greener then let them see what the reality is. Fuck 'em basically.
  6. Not sure why they're making this so difficult. There's only a few possible permutations here - i.e. they keep us in the SPL or we need to drop down x number of divisions. So the bodies can easily have fixture lists ready to go with the different permutations. Now that the newco is sorted, the vote regarding entry to the SPL should have been lined up for Monday as the governing bodies have known all about our situation for months now, this is hardly a surprise, so they could easily just hold back on publishing the fixtures. I really don't see how all of this is so difficult. TBH the whole thing has just shown up the SFA & SPL to be the bunch of bungling idiots we always suspected they were.
  7. Until we get a single group to represent the support, I can't see anyone taking us seriously to be honest. We're far too splintered and there seems to be divisive figures involved in a few of the groups whose presence doesn't appear to be helping the chances of unity.
  8. I guess it might also come down to how much Green and co have actually stumped up this far. If they have an agreement to buy the newco for 5.5M and rumours were saying they'd yet to actually pay most of it, then they could in theory accept 6M and still have doubled their money! Or they want to see just how much they can get so open bidding to all comers which might take longer?
  9. Your post sums up exactly how I feel about the whole thing Calscot, thanks for articulating it so well and succinctly.
  10. Surely this was an easy one for Ally to come out and deny first thing if there was no truth in it?
  11. If Green gets the club, it then becomes an affordable purchase I'm guessing for guys like the blue knights who get a debt free club rather than sinking money in to fund a cva. Regardless of which division we have to play in, they can then run it within its own means and hopefully set it up for the future. To be honest it all makes me wonder how serious any of the original bidders were when you consider liquidation gives a debt free Rangers.
  12. Any official word on this yet or is it still rumour? Stuck in meetings so am relying on the phone...
  13. We're damned if we do, damned if we don't. No matter what we do and how things pan out for the spl and the other clubs, it will all be our fault. Whatever happens, we mustn't forget just how many clubs and fans have shown their true colours over the last while as they've queued up to tell the world how much they hate us, our club and how everything is our fault. I really hope we can follow through with things like the boycott of certain away grounds as certain clubs have made no secret of how little they need us or our money.
  14. Good to hear something from the players but that reads like a goodbye statement as much as anything.
  15. There's always going to be the scope for another offer, but unless we come up with the dough to pay back HMRC's final bill for the withheld tax in full, I can't see them going for it. For anyone wanting to buy the club, what possible incentive is there to do that when they could potentially use that money instead to buy a debt free club and all its assets instead?
  16. You'd hope a lot of this could be resolved quickly enough given how long the spl, sfa and other clubs have had to pontificate about it. So set a vote for Monday to sort out the league issue, then at least we know where we stand on that one.
  17. It could be an exciting opportunity to build for the future by overhauling the scouting and youth systems, empty a coach who favours attractive football and have this all based on a firm financial footing.
  18. What we need now is things to move quickly, otherwise who knows how long this will drag on for.
  19. Duff and Phelps said it and I think the tweets from hmrc have suggested the same unless I've misunderstood. Basically they're saying that this isn't a business who got in to trouble through their normal trading, there is clear evidence of previous directors withholding taxes. I'm guessing if they'd accepted the cva it sets a very dangerous precedent and not sure if it prejudices any personal cases they wanted to bring?
  20. Hmrc have said they'd have blocked any cva no matter who put it up. Am I wrong in suggesting that it looks like all those interested parties (TBK, King, Ng, Miller etc) may now come back in with the money they had mooted originally in order to buy a debt free newco from Green? And then we're left with a debt free Rangers who have a clean slate to rebuild, albeit maybe from division 3? It's almost as if someone had planned this from the very start....
  21. But that if has been hanging around for years now and it's such a big if that no-one in their right mind would invest anything they couldn't afford to lose. If it wasn't for the big tax case, I think we would have found someone or one of the consortiums would have found more money to invest.
  22. Apart from the big tax case..... That was always the big unknown for any potential owners, regardless of how much money they put in, they could have lost it all if the result goes against us.
