  1. If I remember my Shakespeare aright, a pandar was originally a pimp, as seen in the character of that name in Troilus & Cressida. Regan as pimp...he's more of a John, with all the screwing up he's been doing.
  2. And, I might add, Rhegan's puppet Lunny has called the Rangers bigwigs in to explain themselves. How many of the chairmen who commented most unfavourably on Regan over the summer face the same chastisement? SFA, get tae fuck.
  3. Weird that neither he nor the journo get that this alone is worrying. Media types had one meal with SDM, yet the succulent lamb credo is follwed blindly by many. Campbell Ogilvie may have had one meeting with some financial wallah over EBTs, yet that is trotted out by many. One meeting with an agent is enough to start avalanches of rumours about signing targets. Rhegan meeting Lawwell once before his appointment is more than enough for me to apply the same rules.
  4. On the other hand, removing the travelling support money would either force diddy teams to buck up their ideas and stand on their own two feet, presumably improving the game, or cause them to fold, the league goes semi-pro and we can get away from the haters.
  5. Yeah, in actual fact I've fair enjoyed listening to the Scots clubs getting tanked. It's amusing to listen to the sympathetic pats on the back from the commentators as Motherwell lose 0-2 atm to a side without a game under their belt so far...apparently MFC fans are chucking things at Greek players, as well, so the image of the country is being proudly carried aloft by our replacements. Of course, songs are so much worse than object throwing, I realise that. I change my previous post, I do want to see them do badly. Check that - they ARE going to do badly regardless of my view, so I may as well enjoy it. I've had enough of feeling depressed. Btw, is that our Boumsong getting booed?
  6. Two go's of Gio's letter, that certainly slowed my laptop down.
  7. Such are the actions of a professional. Understandable that such a concept would mystify Scottish fotba fans, but that's what it is. Edit: Tho it seems he's a fan, so even less of a mercenary. Yer OP writer would appear to be a spanker.
  8. No point in moving from Ibrox, and no room to expand...the only way is up, then. Before all the wheels fell off, I used to idle away spare moments constructing a temple of football to see us through most of the C21st. You'd have four spirals at each corner for entry/exit, which would see fans complete a 'pilgrimage' of sorts as they rose up, emotionally and spiritually, until they emerged into their seating area with a view to the pitch, the inner sanctum. The pitch, two squares together making a rectangle, follows traditional ideas of sacred geometry. Visiting fans would be shepherded along a bare, cold entry to the poorest corner of the stadium; this is nicked from the ruined Persian capital of Persepolis, where visitors were reminded of their lowly status while being impressed by the power and majesty of the King of Kings. Raising the whole thing 20, 30 metres allows perfect draining and pitch protection from frost, since the pitch environment could be controlled from beneath as well as above, while the whole thing would be capped with a dome, representing the heavens or highest ambition which all clubs ought to aspire to. Onto this would be projected logos of various competitions; the UEFA CL stars being the best example, tho that's unlikely now! Imagine a helicopter shot of this, lit up on a winter's night, going around Europe. You can tell how bored I get sometimes. I even incorporated ideas of brown water, re-using rain run-off to reduce water consumption and Scottish Water extortion, a mall of some kind beneath the stadium to increase revenue (indoors, too, a good thing for our weather), murals based on iconic photographs from our history lining the spiral access points, and little wheels on the wall which we would crank as we came in, powering our own generators. Kind of making you feel like a part of the club as soon as you set foot over the door, ripped off from Tibetan prayer wheels, while reducing energy bills. The only thing I can't work out how to do is to incorporate those moving pavements you get at airports into the spiral entries. Since we're all lazier and fatter they would be cool, plus I imagine they would cater for UEFA regs on disabled access. Ah well. Dreams make life less bitter, I suppose.
  9. None taken! I don't give a fuck what you think of me.
  10. I don't disagree really, but it's possible to take this too far. I can't see any reason why we should sing King Billy's on the Wall and I would rather we didn't; but if some people wish to go down that road they aren't doing anything wrong, so it's hardly up to me to ban it. Likewise with The Sash, have no affiliation to the subtext but have equally no right to insist on its removal. Sometimes we just have to put up with things we don't approve of. Providing there's no banned stuff in them, carry on.
  11. Nah, a feeble attempt to highlight that we are out of the SPL; in other words, this is little league stuff and doesn't concern us. Like the SPL is the big time! Even when we were winning it we knew it was pish.
  12. Ah come on, you would have needed the hearing of a bat and the thin skin of a hymen to be offended by anything from yesterday. 'We are Rangers, Super Rangers! No-one likes us, we don't care. We hmm mffmwhm, mfff ffhhhmpfhhh, and we'll hmfff hmfff, hmfffyhmmmfh.'
  13. Dude, you either don't watch much of The Rangers or read much of the papers.
  14. All he's saying is that McCoist is in with the bricks at Rangers in the same way John Grieg was and should be. Not that he will be boss for 25 years - to judge from McCoist's appearance he won't have 25 years left anyway. Man need some serious r+r. Completely understand why people are suspicious but this is really pretty good stuff. I like Charles more and more. Btw, he too looks like shit and he's only been involved for a few months. What a year.

  16. I wouldn't get too excited about this, he's likely to make it clear he was meaning broad bigotry rather than a cabal of Catholics out to destroy The Rangers. Good to see the mhedia and tims freaking out, though.
  17. I saw more than a few highly enjoyable wins over the seasons you mention, not least against a team in green and white who were certainly playing shite football. You must have enjoyed those, surely?
  18. You won't get a debate from me; you're using the suffering of abuse victims to try to get at celtc, hiding it with pretendy concern for the children. Not one of your points is worth a minute of my time. /chat
  19. Extremely poor taste. Not poor taste. What's in extremely poor taste about it? I would suggest that 1) It ignores the sensitivities of the victims 2) It ignores the variances in social mores between the 60s and today 3) It protects rather than highlights the perpetrator/protectors by making it an OF fan issue rather than a legal one 4) It is completely inappropriate for an arena in which children are present, ironically enough 5) It is, if possible, made even worse by phoney moral justification. Plus doubtless sundry others I can't think of at the minute. But there's no way I'm spending the hours before kick off debating this - in short, you are completely and utterly wrong, if you actually believe what you have posted you are delusional, and that's that.
  20. 'internet bolsheveiks'? 'revolutionaries'? I never knew Davie Provan read Gersnet articles.
  21. Finding the singing of BJK in extremely poor taste equals wanting the whole subject covered up now, does it?
  22. Cheers for bringing this up on the day we get back to football, Bill McMurdo. Nice one.
  23. I suppose you're all right, but we can hardly be blamed for extreme caution! Not everyone who is wary of Charles et al is a blind follower of Kennedy or whoever; and not backing him to the hilt does not equal wanting him out. I'm just nervous of firing off an email then discovering he's in the same mould as Whyte. This I doubt, I think he's very impressive. But I've been burned too much in the last year to unquestioningly support anyone. Reckon that's the broad position of us all tbh.
  24. I hate his style of footballer and I admit to being dismayed at his signing. He will do a good job and it is an excellent buy by Ally. I will never - not ever - slag a Rangers player while he is with us but...it'll be hard to get excited about this clogger starring for us. I know he can play, but since he has chosen to foreground thuggery as his forte he can hardly complain when people focus on it. Good, necessary signing but not one I can be excited or pleased with.
