  1. That steering committie is unlikely to be very independent, if previous experience is anything to go by. I can see it now: Eric Reiily, Rod Petrie, Diarmuid O'Hara and Stewart Regan's brother. @AMMS - I think we hold the crown for biggest mismanagement in the history of the game, thanks to Mssrs Murray & Whyte. Every time non-bluenose people open their yap about Rangers I am amazed at how wrong they can get it. It's qute scary, though, when you sit here and realise that the people who are in charge haven't a clue what they are talking about, but are in the position to decide what happens to us. The only good I can see staggering from this wreckage - which Rhegan feels is better than he expected! - is if the SFL clubs really turn the screw on the SPL. None of this three league shit; Scotland is only big enough for two leagues. Regardless of finance streams for clubs, that's the reality. Two leagues of whatever you like, with three automatic up and downs and a play off for a fourth. Otherwise, it's just the same teams, over and over again.
  2. Grand. I was a bit concerned lest it go to somewhere like Tynecastle or another SPL ground. I think a wee check up to see if the boss of the SFA has ever presented the trophy would be in order. Now, that would be a prize worth winning. Edit: Hang on a minute - Hampden? They seme pretty sure we're going to get there, aren't they? A Hampden final between say East Stirling and Arbroath is unlikely to fill the place, is it?
  3. Looking at the teams remaining, I'm a bit more confident about this tourney - I didn't like the 'we'll win 4 Cups!' talk, it seemed like asking for a beating - since there's only going to be at most 2 first div teams in the semis. But does anyone know where the final is going to be held?
  4. First time I've heard this song being used by someone else! I can't make out the adjectival abuse toward St Mirren in the 'We hate St Mirren, ????? bastards' bit, but no doubt it is less than flattering.
  5. Never goes wrong, Inverhouse, but easier said than done!
  6. Kudos to Grandad!! That's the club's new media spokesman, right there.
  7. Not yet, we haven't!
  8. Still available, it seems, on frees: Gretar Steinsson, ex-Bolton right back. Outside chance but possible. Michel Salgado, as above. Bit unlikely, admittedly. Tom Soares, who featured in Hibs 'loan XI' team of last season, is without a club.
  9. Probably part of it but in no way 'end of story'.
  10. You do have to wonder at some parents, right enough.
  11. Easy to say they should have stayed and commanded a fee in hindsight; at the time, I'd have bailed out were I a pro. The club didn't handle the switch over well at all. Whatever good things we can say Charles Green has done of late, there's no getting away from the fact that we let quite a few quid walk out the door though poor communication. Rangers haven't stood in the way of any player who wanted to leave, but how were the walk-aways to know that before the fact?
  12. Hurray for us!
  13. I don't like to speak ill of the man the second his back is turned but, thank goodness for that.
  14. He always crops up, doesn't he?
  15. Ffs, I think I could live with it. No need for the twerp involved to lose his job, I hope. He might want to try growing up, but that's his business.
  16. I know it's a long way from the Kudamm to Bavaria, dB, but do you know anything of Sattelmaier? Anyone remember another German goalie with a similar name? 10 Gersnet points and a coupon valid for a look at my hairy back to the winner!
  17. I vote for change. Yes we can! Mind you, there's next to no coverage of D3. Might end up recycling Gersnet articles!
  18. good pedigree. I was thinking we could do a lot worse than East Stirlingshire's goalie from Saturday - top class - but I hear he's on loan from somewhere.
  19. There's two reasons I can think of for dropping McKay on Saturday - one, we ought to have been able to take care of ES with Shiels in his role, and two, if he'd played poorly (as will happen) we would have been on his back. It's all well and good blaming the manager but we have some of the least tolerant fans on the face of the planet. Everton fans may just have enjoyed watching Rooney as a kid - we'd have moaned the arse off him if he had so much as misplaced a pass. Rangers must be the hardest club in the world for a kid to break into, and we have to take a lot of the blame for that.
  20. Will meet Mr X under ten bridges Package will be ready deal done?
  21. I do feel these games ought to be played before a home match to drum up interest.
  22. £21 for me, the boy, a programme and tons of entertainment. Last season, nigh on £40 for me, the boy and a load of shite. If anyone had told me, even a month ago, I'd be enjoying this so much I would not have believed it.
  23. While Lawwell may be untouchable, I'm not sure Doncaster has many friends in the media. If there was something they could flay him with, I think they would have done so.
