  1. Further to which, I'm through being objective. You wouldn't be objective if you saw the people who had burgled your house, would you?
  2. Who was playing the role, Crawford? Last one I saw was Jean-Luc Picard on TV.
  3. It's all about opinions, isn't it? I know you have some inside info but you only ever drip it out in wee tiny bits so you can't blame other people if they don't automatically believe you. I wonder if Alastair Johnston would come back on board if King was owner? If you throw those two, maybe Blin could be persuaded back once the detritus has been swept down Edmiston Drive, and some people from McColl's group that would be a solid (ie, trustworthy) board to start things off, at last. The only worry would be if King tried any more tax avoidance shenanigans on. I think we've all had quite enough of that road, thank you very much.
  4. Before my time but sad anyway. Harsh on the bold Joseph. A perfectly passable keeper and an excellent backup to Woods.
  5. He's even got a deal at Morton off the back of Rangers publicity so you'd think he could have managed to resist kicking the club.
  6. And by the way, if their investigation into Irvine is anything to go by, their look at resolutions 9 & 10 ought to be published, ooh, about Cup Final time.
  7. Legally and properly when it suits them, eh? No answers, a lot of prevarication (that's Latin for bullshit) and absolutely zero % increase in the the already low trust I had in them.
  8. We're always going to do that to some extent, Rab, because of how close such clubs are to us.
  9. He is diving, has been since his first game for us. Hardly a surprise given his background (with apologies to central America). I've every confidence he'll wisen up pdq. I think he looks like a decent player.
  10. Fuck sake, dry your eyes.
  11. To be fair to the STV sport bods, there's virtually nothing football wise to write about and they have to be seen to be working. I suppose bullshit is the inevitable outcome.
  12. Anyone who actually thinks 'aye, I'll give that a go' would be well worth meeting. Far out, man.
  13. Well, it looks like going round in circles time. My only remaining point to make is that some fans must have a really low opinion of their fellow Bears to think they would give in to some twit complaining about Penny Arcade. The leap in logic from 'songs about terrorists don't do us any favours' to 'you would give in to what is, frankly, lunacy' (someone complaining about PA) needs you to think the absolute worst of people, it really does.
  14. I can't decide if that makes it more or less attractive a fixture.
  15. I thought he spoke very well there. Another sensible voice speaking up, the more the better.
  16. I operated a rule of not believing or using anything anyone ever sent me. They soon stopped sending me anything, works a treat.
  17. King as chair, with a selection from the people put forward by McColl's group, would make a decent enough board for me. There's still no room for the current lot, although I do concede the money the Easdales have put in makes their case slightly different.
  18. It was hard to listen to Walter explaining our wage bill as 'we have to because we're Rangers' and not come to the same conclusion as Tom English. There's an argument that the club needs to be seen to act big in order to sell ST's. There's an argument that the club could have drawn 'them' in a Cup, and wanted to avoid a double figure defeat. There's an argument that those in charge were feeling their way and made mistakes. But the argument 'we had to spend because we're Rangers' doesn't wash.
  19. Can't blame the old man for that - he died when I was 4. As a Beith jnrs fan anyway, he wouldn't have taken me to Ibrox, alas! From what little I can recall I just wasn't aware of football until the 77 Cup Final(s) and I just fell for The Rangers. The lousy standard of those games, and the early to mid 80's, has stood me in good stead for the turgid guff that's been served up in recent years.
  20. As always I can only speak for myself but the UVF references being held to mean WW1 stuff only came in - and I mean at all, I never heard it mentioned once, been going to Ibrox since 84 and lived in a Rangers oriented world since I was about 7 - after they said such references will be made illegal. I don't buy it at all. Plainly that kind of leaves me basically saying to those who use that argument 'I don't believe you', but there you are.
  21. Since the bill talks about glorifying terrorists & terrorist acts, will it not be the rifle & pistol references they are getting antsy about? I was driving home this morning with Tom Russell on the radio, and there was Rod Stewart doing probably the most sexist and misogynist song of all time, Stay With Me by The Faces. I expect Focus will lift the old git the next time he plays that number in Scotland. I could write a 10,000 word article on why these rules are not being used fairly or sensibly...but in the end, if we just used our collective loaf we would be able to have a sing song at the game without fear of being lifted. ps: fwiw there used to be a flute band called the Young Calvary Volunteers, I assume the initials mean the same thing.
  22. You've lost me there, mate. I'm saying we don't have to be cuddly just because we should drop a couple of songs. I don't know where you're coming from with that reply, sorry!
  23. If he gets on a McGill's, they'll not accept his bus pass.
  24. I can't help thinking when people call the requisitioners 'rebels' they're trying to associate them with tims.
