There is an element of that to it; but in reality, how many of us would be willing to back a club run membership scheme at the moment? Apologies for the long wait in getting feedback up.

I know I've said this before, but Ayr in February, not Ayr in May. What a chance missed to bring in several hundred thousand pounds to the local economy. Scottish football, pah.

Might see a few familiar posters on over the weekend around match time as well. But it's a great start and if we can actually pull it off - from experience, as soon as you actually book somewhere the phone never stops with cancellations - it should be a great night.
-
Anyone who posts on Gersnet can come! Just coz me & Brahim started the thread doesn't mean it's 'ours' or anything.

I was going to ask you to do the after dinner speech, mate. But don't forget to bring back those comics I lent you.

Some quick points: If anyone has a time when they're away, like rbr, the sooner you post it up the more chance there is of us avoiding that particular date. No matter what date we choose someone is bound to be disappointed, so get in first. Plenty of bank Holidays around in spring time and you may be going to the mother-in-laws - check with the other half! If anyone has a preference for midweek or weekend, please say so; majority rules seems fair. If you don't care, like me, no need to bother.

Despite being a decade long user of usually anonymous internet messageboards, I still prefer going out, having a bite to eat and a good laugh. With that in mind, I present to you: The 2014 Gersnet End of Season Boozy Do Gersnet stalwart Brahim Hemdani can provide the destination, this natty Mediterranean chophouse on the sou'side: http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g186534-d1087980-Reviews-Malaga_Tapas-Glasgow_Scotland.html and if enough go, the owner is apparently willing to shut the doors to your ordinary, workaday customer in order to bow and scrape before us with the all deference due people in our position. The date is entirely flexible, so long as it is near the end of the season; whatever suits the most will win, I guess. Plainly this will be a poor night out if no-one goes, just a lonely, portly fellow (that's me, btw, not Brahim) sitting in a restaurant staring glumly out the window. Having been on a golf day out with RM and having met a good few posters from here, I can honestly say I haven't met anyone who isn't completely normal, so if you're a bit nervous about a night out with strangers I'd urge you to go for it. You can always leave!* * once you've paid

Supporters Direct chief calls on Rangers fans to unite...
andy steel replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Is it by invitation only? I can make that, and would like at least to hear what the SDS side of things is. Sceptical, but not closed, mind. -
I'm pointing at no-one is particular, but you wonder what goes through some parents' mind's these days when it comes to naming their kids. <weren't like that in my day loyal>

BHEASTS Fans Travel To Ibrox To Back Albion Rovers

"Crap ex-footballer lodges advert for (probably) dingy boozer in national press" -
I don't recall many other managers running about pitches, sticking their fingers in official's faces, etc, etc. Guy's a twat.

Nicely put, SA. I do agree that his media martyrdom is very annoying. We're supposed to be impressed that, in the last two years, and under zero pressure, he's managed to avoid running on the pitch to scream at officials should results not go his way (see Youtube for the excellent 'Lenny Hill' spoof on this topic), instigate strike action by more or less blatantly calling refs biased against celtc, put his oar in where it wasn't wanted on about 100 subjects, and generally been an oaf. We're also supposed to get to know him in order to see that he's a great guy, really intelligent, likes a pint and so on. Unless Neil is about to tour Scotland one house at a time this is not practically possible; this line is as meaningless as it is inaccurate, for nothing I've ever heard him drone on about in his awful, monotonous Ulster accent has been above the usual dimwit football manager fare. It's usually something about not being respected enough...I imagine anything short of abject, craven worship comes under that heading. Most ironically of all, he's managed to not go mental and physically try to get at someone (McCoist) who was verbally taking him to task, the very behaviour he is now objecting to when levelled at him. Life often isn't fair, and sometimes people - usually vulnerable people who can't hit back, women, say, or the handicapped - are targeted when they have done no wrong to anyone. This, however, is not one of those cases. This is a person who has repeatedly shown that he's - if at all - only one step above the people he now berates; I'm afraid the hypocrisy just makes me even less sympathetic to him than I was before.
-
In the end, isn't being celtc manager reason enough?
-
I've heard celtc fans moaning about us signing Steve Davis purely because he's from Norn. It didn't convince me then and I don't think many could believe any team would spend money on a player for non-footballing reasons. Mind you, we did sign Salim Kerkar to be big Bougy's pal, iirc. Very thought provoking stuff from AMMS. My instinct is to denounce your actual attacks, but to still struggle to muster much sympathy for Lennon. Maybe that's contradictory (or contains elements thereof) so I'm going to spend a pleasant evening in the Uni library contemplating this question, grasshopper.

I don't see the connection. One can be the most obnoxious or divisive of people in public without ever inciting violence; look at UKIP, for example. We shall have to disagree.
-
Sorry to bring this up again but some obsessed and plainly deeply unhappy young lass tweeting garbage is in no way - no way at all - an incitement to violence. To say so is on a par with those idiots who considered Ally asking to know who nearly killed us two years ago to be akin to a declaration of fatwa.
-
I think it says "A source said: "Every club gets nutters sending in stuff, but there was more to this. It was (can't read this word). Lennon, 42, had to flee Dons thugs last week."

And they wonder why no-one buys papers anymore! If we're talking about people contributing, as opposed to passing through history, boring dross like this will take a premier place in 'reasons why the Scottish newspaper industry died'. We don't care, I imagine other fans will only be annoyed in that he obsesses over Rangers...maybe a few celtc fans might like it, but really, that's the feeblest of efforts.

It's probably because Super Cooper has been busy loading the bullets should we not win the Cup, which is a little bit of an over reaction given we don't know who we'll be playing, injuries, suspensions, ref decisions, and all the other variables which come into football. Reacting to a good win and some favourable results elsewhere by getting a pistol out and holding it to the manager's head is not exactly constructive.
