  1. Why not? He was hardly a legend over there, and would shake the place up if nothing else. More likely to get a plum job in the Championship come the managerial shake-down in summer, though.
  2. If I was one of them, I'd want to play it at Ibrox; I'd want the place to be full of Bears; & I'd want to stuff us, in our own yard, in front of our own fans. Small club, small mentality.
  3. Not quite, but almost. We had Davie Cooper and when he felt like it could change a game from dross to dreamland in a minute. But if we were in the top league (maybe even the one above us just now) we might be back in the 80's groove. Ibrox was never a ploughed field that I can recall, mind you. Our groundsman and St Johnstone's, when they played at Muirton, generally were considered the creme de la creme. Or was it Killie? Might have been Killie. There again, the style of opposition play will change a bit in the next leagues and that might help. But that's straw clutching time, really.
  4. Thank Goodness Hugh came along to point all this out. I had no idea! Just because most posters don't feel the need to fill every thread with posts about how badly Ally is doing doesn't mean they don't know it. And for many, many fans, sticking the knife in is unthinkable - it's a step too near to disloyalty, despite the argument that the man is not more important than the club. But they are well aware that the knife hovereth, nonetheless. As, I'm sure, is Ally.
  5. End of the day, we might win a league title on Wednesday and the chances are it will be at a far from full Ibrox. That's the legacy of Black. I have to force my 12 yr old to come to games now because they are so bad to watch - we are in danger of turning away the next generation of fans, that's the legacy of Black. Unlike the manager, he has no reservoir of affection from fans aged 35+ to assuage the disbelief at the dross we are serving up. But hey, he can lecture us because he knows better than we do. Normally I'd say pro players do know better than us, but in this case, it's stretching a point to call Black a player and beyond parody to suggest he even approaches anything resembling professionalism. Where's that fixed odds coupon, again? Having moaned about Rangers fans berating players in the past I have sat on my hands and glumly avoided shouting abuse when at the games, but boy will I be sorely tempted the next time Black misses a pass to a player three yards away, flies in to a pointess hack, or rolls about in agony when tackled only to recover a few seconds later. I don't think I've ever disliked a Rangers player more. Who are the kids he's referring to, by the way - Aird, yes, who else?
  6. That's a horror story of an interview and screams from the rooftops 'I have no idea what it means to play for Rangers'. That probably wouldn't matter if the player saying it was contributing on the pitch, but when you add it to two seasons of maybe half a dozen decent games and maybe nearly 60 mediocre games; to being unable to dominate L2 & L1 opposition players; to being unable to hit a freekick to any standard; to being unable to avoid pointless tackles which would raise eyebrows on a KG5 pitch; and to not being able to work out that betting on the other side to get a draw against Rangers is - let's be kind - daft, and you have a player, as many have said, totally out of touch with a lot of fans and bluntly, not worthy to wear the top. Maybe not all fans disagree with him, that would be a daft thing to claim. But if Ian thinks Bears are going to forget the standard of play both against Rovers on Sunday and what's more important, consistently over the last two seasons with very little sign of improvement, he doesn't know what it means to be a fan. And with that in mind, maybe he should shut his stupid fucking yap about what the fans expect - he plainly doesn't get it and would be far better advised keeping schtum. Bottom line is he's a disgrace to the jersey both on and off the pitch. The playing epitome of all that is wrong with the club atm. That interview is just the latest proof.
  7. Give it time, there's a long way to go until April. People are miserable just now with the football and no wonder, plus the sniping atmosphere on the board has been shit for weeks, doesn't encourage a party. But give it time.
  8. I recognise that bewildered, slightly glaikit look of shocked delight on Vlad's face. Got two myself.
  9. Could the admin maybe provide us with a maximum word post size we can all stick to, lest big posts piss off posters?
  10. Fair enough points, but it would be sad to see him turn into just another bog standard hack. We've got plenty of those as it is!
  11. There is an ignore function, you know.
  12. Ach, probably. & he's quite entitled to speak out, as well.
  13. Hold fire until we see the govt's reaction would be my counsel - poor Rab has been getting it tight of late but I think both he and Timothy will be surprised at just how broadly contempt for football in general (as at Peterhead) and the OF in particular is. I don't see the govt. being keen to back down on this, both because it makes them look weak - the football fan vote is not a big one, and the views of clowns like Spiers will have long been consigned to the dustbin where they should have been left in the first place - when they want to look strong and because they, and other parties, genuinely can't stand us. Put it this way, there's more votes in skelping Rangers and celtc's bottoms than there is in sooking up to them.
  14. If I'd time I would have posted a 3,000 word article punning on King this and King that. Think yourselves lucky I am a very busy man.
  15. Look at that, fans are running the club & it hasn't cost us a penny!
  16. Ooh, even better! I can see this thread going tits up....sod it, it's time we had some fun again!
  17. Did anyone see Lord of the Rings, where King Theoden was being worked by Wormtongue? Easdale's no king of anywhere, but I feel a bit sorry for him on this one. No doubt his very own wormtongue thought it would be neat to use semantics to try to discredit Dave King. No way did Easdale come up with that line himself, he's not sharp enough. I hope he's sharp enough to see which way the wind is blowing.
  18. You do feel that Prior is a bit of a media junkie, but promising words nonetheless.
  19. The only (and unlikely) way that celtc could ever get into a better place than Scotland is if advertisers & broadcasters insisted on it. In which case, they would be 99.9% certain to insist upon our going too. But it's not going to happen for either, because we're stuck out here on the perimeter, where there are no stars, and Zappa is stoned immaculate.
  20. I'm afraid even the 'full facts' will not deter Rab. Bollocks to it, we need cynics to make sure we don't get shafted again. More power to Rab, I say.
  21. Hats off to all for their energy. I hope it's off to a flier. I know this is moany, and it might not matter. But the typos do my nut in - if you are trying to get money from people you need to be as professional as you can. & I don't like the rubric 'Taking on the burden of others' for the £18.72 option. I know it's not meant to, but it potentially sends out the message that you, fan X who can't afford £18.72, isn't as good as fan Y who can. The potential is there to send out a negative message, which is the last thing you want if you are trying to get fan x to part with their money. The concept is fair enough, I understand that, it's just that advertising message wise the word 'burden' is a mistake. Given how touchy our fans are, these things do matter. Apart from which, it's been written as 'Taken on the burden of others', which shows how minutes get corrupted. But here I am, being negative. Sorry! The best of luck and fingers crossed for a positive outcome.
  22. WAAAAAAAHEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! I win, I had post #34.
