  1. I'd settle for three grand a week. 'Only'!!
  2. Well, you never know, the heat of South Africa might play against the USA and England. Who else is in their group?
  3. There's a difference between standing idly by and pointlessly protesting against an unknown target, though. However, I wish you well.
  4. Not as yet amigo, and that's my biggest reservation about such a protest. If it was billed as keeping the pressure on then I say well done and more power to you. There's nothing wrong with letting those watching on, be they in London, New York or the south of France, that we still have a bite, giving a growl now and again. But if we have a full on protest every two months or so the law of diminishing returns will kick in - and it's too important for that.
  5. I shall bear this in mind the next time I hear Charlie Adam being quoted at GBP5m...Crewe and Charlton fans would feel the same should they read that. It would certainly be a shame to see him go, especially since injury, international committments and going AWOL have really prevented us from seeing a run of 2 or 3 months of the man at his best. But reality bites.
  6. If a protest is to be effective it needs several things to be in place: a clear and agreed target an acceptable alternative publicity through wider media than online forums a united popular mood As far as I can see none of these are in position, so I would counsel keeping the protesting powder dry. You can argue that we're not in a position to wait, but the facts are muddled, and the protest imo will achieve absolutely nothing. Better to wait until we know who or what we're attacking, and who or what we're putting forward as better.
  7. I think that covers it.
  8. If it were possible to find out when and where Mr Muir was going to be on a certain day, I would be more than happy to protest against him. I'm uncertain what effect a protest against a corporate body would have.
  9. If he's off with stress on the back of an article, it suggests he's in the wrong job!
  10. We buy any crap! (celtic) We buy any crap! (celtic) If you wanna be a player but you can't get a game We buy any crap! (celtic) We buy any crap! (celtic) At home to the Hibees Away to the Killie We buy-we buy-we buy-we buy We buy any crap! (celtic) We buy any crap! (celtic) Need to superimpose a tim top on the 'We buy any car' people, and flash up photos of Keane, Camara, and two others of their new signings at the 'We buy-We buy-We buy-We buy' bit. It's been going round my head since Tuesday night so I had to get it down 'on paper'. I would have asked the tech guys on RM but I don't know who can do that on here.
  11. Well, that would be very disappointing. They are making David Murray look like the consumate professional.
  12. In terms of league re-organisation, one of the problems is finding dates to play games - doing away with the 3rd trophy would free up space in the calendar. That apart, I just can't muster enthusiasm. That said I'm sitting watching it.
  13. I'd be the last to berate someone for an over flowery writing style. Glass houses indeed.
  14. Do nothing, or do business in private (like Kris Boyd's contract) and stand accused of negligence. Do your business in public and keep the fan informed, and stand accused of causing more problems than good. What is it the management are supposed to do?
  15. I wanted to get this in quick before the game, lest I be accused of sour grapes in the event of a bad result. It should be done away with. Thank you.
  16. Crikey, you really don't like Spiers do you? Bit old fashioned to be having a dig at him being gay though. Who cares?
  17. I love the way this sounds like you popped down the road to a foundary (sp?) at lunchtime, and shouted for Bert. At which point he put down his hammer, or whatever, you had a chat, and you came back. The global village right enough.
  18. For a start, we can stop mythologising a support containing its fair share of dullards, psychopaths and ne'er do wells into a fun-lovin' band o'rollicking bhoys, and point out that anti-social behaviour is unacceptable whether it comes from a Rangers, Celtic or Inverness fan.
  19. I don't think we can hope for any future in a financial meltdown over there. Their house is reasonably in order, financially speaking, and although they seem to hate their owners they gets their hand in their pocket often enough to annoy me. What is worrying is that WE are heading for the same old scene (ah there, Roxy Music) next year unless there's a new owner. Hard Times, indeed.
  20. I have seen half of one programme, dealing with Aberdeen winning the league in 80-81. Not bad. Then it cuts to the OF Cup final riot. Apparently it was the sectarian signing policy of Rangers that caused it. Possibly in writer/producer Brendan O'Hara's (I kid you not) mind. I'd have blamed the bevvy myself. So they can take their view on that subject especially and shove it as far up their squalid bottoms as it will go.
  21. This is really worrying. People do their nana about songs and banners, but the recurrence of actual attacks on the property belonging to Rangers players is developing into a trend: the throwing in of Boruc in that piece is gesture writing at its worst. No doubt the forces of law will point out there's only so much they can do about random attacks. True enough, but there IS stuff they can and must be doing. They must be calling in editors of papers and stations and reminding them that their actions and words carry a cost in society; they must contact the operators of websites and remind them of the same; they must provide liason with security officers at Rangers in order to advise on best practice for the future; in short, it's time the police in Scotland started policing the shit that surrounds Rangers and Celtic in our media and reminded people that this is not a free for all society. I view these attacks as a direct result of the martyrdom of their support in the media. They think they can get away with anything and why wouldn't they? But the editors need to be made to see the consequences of their actions - they ain't going to listen to me, that's for sure!
  22. Religion is a busted flush in this country, anyway. It's only the bloody football that's keeping it alive!
  23. Nah, I must fess up, Keane is an excellent signing who will probably win them games they would otherwise have dropped points in. I'm quite willing to admit I hope he picks up an injury tout suite!
  24. His name sounds like a hangover.
  25. Fair enough, I didn't watch or listen to that game so I DID miss that. But if he was correct according to the rules, shouldn't we be looking at the other refs for NOT sticking to the rules?
