I was trying to change the minds of those who follow our club.

Sadly it doesn't matter if here was a legally punishable 'assault' or not. What matters - to all but infantile, adolescent types who revel in poking authority in the eye - is that the narrative that is now out there is that there was unpleasant scenes, a poisonous atmosphere, unseemly goings-on. Not boardroom chaos, not a club on the brink of collapse (again), but nasty Rangers fans. Yes, there are people with an agenda who will love that sort of material - why give it them, then? Happens every time we get into a sympathetic position. We could blame it on infiltrators or nefarious boardroom shenanigans, but it must be obvious to most by now that we're our own worst enemy.

No, it's a PR triumph.

I suppose we're in denial a little, because we don't want it to be true. But there you are, we've managed to screw it up for ourselves yet again. Just another disaster.
-
Well, good news, it wasn't.
-
Heaven's sake, one guy grabs a barrier while another stands at the doors shouting 'sack the board'. The storming of the Winter Palace it wasn't.

With the best will in the world, putting himself forward is a silly step by King. Just gives the other side ammo.

Probably just as well, GS, the motorway's mad and people are driving like idiots: Nothing like leaving a safe distance.
-
And in the end, big mouth gets as far as Renfrew & is driven back by the weather. Sorry lads, sorry Rangers.

Not getting much of a strong vibe on this from the Bears I know...too busy, too cold, too snowy. Imagine what a decent turn out would do for Letham as he negotiates away inside, even if just his morale. Sigh

Some people have to smooth out the bumfles in their bedsheets, some people have to arrange towels neatly, I have to have nice, flowing sentences. It is, plainly, odd.

Sorry to ruin Frankie's United Front, but the first paragraph should be 'are utterly revolted' not 'utterly repulsed', the 2nd para should read 'offering it up' not 'for it to be offered up', and the 3rd para needs to reverse the order of the third and fourth clauses. I slept on it overnight and it's still making me itchy, much like RF's 1872 option which, apparently, sees the buyer 'taken on the burden of others'. I know this is my problem and not theirs. I'm really sorry.

But surely fans wouldn't buy the gear? Surely?? In fact, if I may get all Darthter on yo' ass, surely???
-
But then he gets a club which many, many fans will have washed their hands of. And who will refuse to buy official merch while he gets the money for it. What's the point? On the other hand, if the scenario Frankie outlines does happen and fans happily wander back I will be forced to throw up my hands and admit defeat!

Well said D'Artagnan. I stole this point and tweeted the BBC with it, & it got read out - so your point got a very wide airing. Hopefully it will encourage some more along tomorrow night. If we ever had to leave Ibrox it would only be because we absolutely had to or there was an outstanding reason. Losing our ground, which is what this is, spiritually, to a horrible low rent shopping mall costermonger, should never be on the cards.
-
Hopefully it will be too mobbed to see you easily but my ample poundage should still be recognisable as it thunders down Edmiston Drive, the more lean fans parting in awe before my corpulent magnificence.
-
I might get back in time to see some of it, but that' a chance I'll have to take.
-
Shall we organise a Gersnet corner of the protest? I think we have to get along to this, if it at possible.

Notice lodged to remortgage Ibrox and Auchenhowie to Sports Direct

If I was the board, and I was charged with failure of duty, I would point at Ashley's club in England which, albeit in a sleekit fashion, operates in a break even fashion. 'We only want the same for Rangers', they could say. As much as this makes me as ill as Moody, I can't see any legal recourse that would stand up in court.- 209 replies

EGM, for Chrissakes. What's stopping them? Although it could be a strong arm piece of blackmail, to extort a better pay off. But for fuck's sake, either do something or give up.- 209 replies
