Don't usually post on RST threads for the reason that I've never been a member, but I'd like to know one or two things. On RM, Manticore used to post some manifesto type drivel written by MD all about how Rangers was a British, right wing, Protestant etc club and that lefty types who disagreed could jog on. Being a lefty type who disagreed I was therefore not very keen on his Mb or his RST, which is very definitely what it looks like from the outside. Seeing as the club is in crisis (crises?) and seeing as Frankie says above, that FF and the RST are (unbelievably to me) likely to be influential with new owners, whoever they may be, I feel a bit torn between getting involved with people I fundamentally disagree with and doing nothing while Rome, if you'll pardon the expression, burns. So can I ask: does the RST have a 'baggage' agenda? to give an eg, I'd sack the lad who was lifted for sectarian BoP last week if found guilty, since in the wake of the Lennon bombs we just can't have that sort o'thing around us. What would their stance be on that type of affair? Was it they, eg, who stuck the pointless 'to hell with the SNP' rhyme on the march banner? Being a card carrying member I could hardly walk behind that, it would be like going to an SNP meeting and marching behind a 'to a hell with The Rangers' banner! Are they overtly nationalistic, like the VBs? Is it really a bunch of puppets, all guided by the unseen hand of one individual? Hope no-one is offended by these questions but it's pretty hard to see through the fog.

Calscot wrote: "It seems to me that Whyte's plan has gone awry and like the Titanic we'd have been better ploughing on and smacking straight into the iceberg (a documentary showed that the Titanic would have easily survived this scenario albeit with a hell of a lot of damage to the bow). So while that would have been repairable, the trouble we now have is that it's very hard to sell a sinking ship - even if you can replace it with another one, that ends up becoming an expensive and difficult option." That's us, Titanic FC. I suppose gallows humour is better than no humour at all right now.

Smart alecky posters who reckon they know it all getting right on my knackers during this shambles...ironic coming from me, I suppose. That's hubris for you.

Dingwall Speirs and some dude from Ernst and Young

Dunno what station you were listening to, but Kirsty Wark wisnae on Call Kaye this morning. Which, in now traditional BBC style, managed to produce a show on the topic 'should Rangers fans zip it?' featuring Spiers (hates Rangers), some nobody from Edinburgh who hates Rangers, an out of breath lunatic from Glasgow who hates Rangers, and the only man in Glasgow called Damien who isn't a Celtic fan (he claimed to be a Jags man...aye, right enough) who probably hates Rangers but whose moby let him down at the crucial moment. Unusually, one or two bluenoses were allowed onto this programme, but luckily, when John MacMillan (I think) attempted to question Spiers closely he was cut off in favour of the above mentioned non-Rangers fans. Pacific Quay CSC, indeed. -
There's one thing we can all agree on I reckon: Spiers is a grade A prick. Hopefully that's not too personal. But anyone who finds the world of internet football forums more extreme than, say, deviant and/or illegal pornographic ones, or ones which teach you to build your own fertiliser bomb, is showing up nothing but his agenda.

More news, less information. You're quite right there. I still feel that there needs to be state funding for websites so that moderators can moderate professionally, instead of in their own time. How that could be put into practice I dunno, but the current state of affairs, which sees us stuck in with the Amish in being unable to handle 21st century technology, can't go on.

Know how you feel, it's like a wake. Pour yourself a whisky.

As soon as any element other than hoping the team in blue is going to score is added to your support of Rangers, you straightaway divide yourself from people who don't agree with those added elements, be they political, religious, economical or whatever. This is nothing new, Danny.

Easy to say if you don't work at Ibrox. I don't, so I'll be hanging on to the 'no-one loses their joob until the last possible moment' scenario.
-
Dunno about that, atm no-one has lost their job due to this shambles. If we can somehow stagger out of it (looking unlikely) without those least able to afford to be made redundant being made so, so much the better. There's an unseemly desire in the media to see swinging cuts at Rangers; I can't see why they should be appeased, regardless of D&P's motives.

Jim White on SSN reporting that Miller & his people received 'hundreds' of emails from 'people puporting to be Rangers fans' of a rather horrid nature. That, added to the financial ground zero that is our accounts, seems to have put him off. You just don't know what to think at all, anymore.

Winner of the 2010 Gersnet 'That's a bit rich coming from you' post!

From the outside this hoo-ha about interest or no interest seems extraordinarily petty. I am no fan of the person in question from what little I know of him but I wouldn't be freaked about this in what is essentially a voluntary organisation. If you want it to run like a business I reckon you'd have to hire businessmen to run it, and that's hardly the idea. 'Financial gain' is too strong an accusation for this, afaics.

That's just astonishing.

I'm as enthusiastic a 'bator as the next man, but were that before me the last thing I'd be doing was wanking. -
Non RST member asks - this £80k's worth of shares: how are they controlled, who decides how and when they are sold/used in votes?

Well, if he's that good make the most of it, since he'll be doing a 'Danny Wilson' in about 18 months! Any excuse to mention Danny Wilson today. Feeling good, Danny?

This is total hypocrisy on my part since I've claimed often enough not to be religious, but this still sits ill with a club supposedly rooted in the Presbyterian tradition. Feckin pisswater lager on the shirts and now a betting partner? How long until they set up a knocking shop on the Albion? -
D'you reckon he'll have to, before long?

That's a blistering post.

Letter to newspaper for Brian Laudrup, response from Copenhagan Post
andy steel replied to bmck's topic in Rangers Chat
It's assuming you are buying something from him and wants to know where to send it. I just ignored it. -
That's an unreal post from someone who I would have thought would know better. That's patronising and I apologise but I am steaming. No potential? Apart from being able to score from virtually anywhere around the box, none. Apart from being strong enough to deal with defenders some decade older than he is, none. Apart from having the creativity..ach forget it. If he has it, you'll see it soon enough, and if he doesn't, then you were right.
