  1. The number of times I've written a post only to find Traynor has pretty much said it for me in the last few weeks has been amazing.
  2. SPL players at SPL prices can be had without £400 season tickets.
  3. Could be, GS. I don't pretend to be a financial expert, but I imagine Murray would be able to simply file for bankruptcy should he be pursued for x millions of pounds both you, me and HMRC know he does not have. The point is he did not act illegally, therefore I can't see what grounds HMRC are going to pursue him on. Being a bit dodgy is unlikely to hold up in court. Whyte is a different case and, from the little I understand, has acted in at best a cavalier and at worst outright illegal manner repeatedly over a period of a decade and more. If he has money squirrelled away, I doubt much has come from Rangers as yet, given our position; so why do we need to be executed in order to investigate Whyte?
  4. Until the sit. re: SPL or not is clarified, things will be held in abeyance. I would imagine. But you'd be off your rocker to sign over £1 let alone £400 to whatever entity is taking our money atm!
  5. Problem is, Green is not a fan - he's looking to turn a profit. Best way to do that, apparently, is in the cash-rich SPL (no tittering, there). I would rather croak than beg to other teams, but he's not thinking like that.
  6. In common with every other media outlet, I imagine. At least he spoke to someone, the silence from club figures (sorry, Charles, you ain't all that) is a bit deafening atm.
  7. This is what I was wondering - what exactly is it, other than the vague accusations of the smelly horde, that HMRC can go after Murray for? And more to the point, given Whyte's recent record, why do they need Rangers FC in this or that position to prosecute him? Surely the law doesn't just go into abeyance when a CVA clicks in - suppose Whyte had murdered someone (not impossible, given who we're talking about, tho he's more likely to be the victim) would a CVA prevent a prosecution? I fail to understand why we must be liquidated in order to target people, legally speaking. Doesn't add up yet.
  8. I don't share your distaste for having a relegation on our battle honours. It's not as if we've played crap and gone down - there are extenuating circumstances, as I'm sure I don't have to say! We've been sick. Really, really ill. And we need time to recuperate. Not just the three-seasons-and-we're-back timeframe but anything up to 6-10 years. To get finances into a sane kind of order, or as much as one can expect from a sports club. To get the youth set-up operating effectively. To create a whole new ethos of what football is about. And I don't believe we can do that in the SPL, with the petty jealousies and inadequacies of other clubs and fans always getting in the road. We need the time to gain strength out of the glare.
  9. Style does matter - I know nothing at all about whether Green is genuine or a crook. I'd love someone to show me one way or the other. But someone going on about grubby money grabbing Green is not very persuasive.
  10. What risks are you talking about here? I suppose a failure to come back from demotion would impact the future, but I fail to see what - imo - a deserved punishment could have on our heritage. Plus, I just can't see us failing to come back, unless a huge percentage of fans walk away from the club.
  11. Leggo's posted a few times recently about Rangers fans who don't believe him. I can help him there. If you write like a 12 year old, people will not take you seriously. Even if everything he says above if 100% correct, saying it like that just turns people off.
  12. No, we can't blame any players who move on, especially if we're in Div.3. They go with my thanks and best wishes, anyway.
  13. That's an outstanding piece of finding a silver lining. Well done, sir.
  14. <draws curtains>
  15. Hokey Cokey? <groan> What's wrong with just using your name?
  16. It would be rude to ignore a reply but I'm not buying this - you couldn't create a mhedia caricature bluenose better than this if you tried.
  17. You've got to expect people to disagree with you, though. If the worst you are called is banal, I reckon you can live with it.
  18. Well, that explains his loss of form toward the end of his Ibrox days.
  19. Well, it shouldn't raise doubts! This is how UK business works. I cant believe this outbreak of morality we're expected to believe has come over the business community all of a sudden. Since the advent of the Evil One in '79 business has been ruthless, cut-throat and self-serving...I won't take any of this morality in business crap just cause its Rangers.
  20. Might be clear to some, Frankie, it wasn't to me. So fed up with ring a ring o'roses. As Chilled Bear said, if you've something to say, say it.
  21. You can be pro-Green or anti-Green, all we're being asked to do is not call other posters liars or other names.
  22. An odd stance from the Austrians. Yes, they want paid in full. No, under a CVA they're not going to be. But given the problems not paying would cause, it seems totally obvious that Rangers, newco or otherwise, would come across with the Euros sooner rather than later, following reconstruction. So why vote against, which will only delay any such payment? Bit odd.
  23. Kiev '87. I was 16, & I thought I was having a heart attack toward the end, pains in the chest, the full works. It's on youtube, near the end Butcher passes back to Woods and the place erupts. An amazing night.
  24. Felt like telling that Dundee Utd fan to sod off in the 'introduce yourself'. I doubt I'll last long over there!
  25. Unelected bourgeois leader who lived off the hard work of proletariat Wombles such as Tomsk, and whose exploitative relationship with Mme Cholet raised more than a few hairy, feminist eyebrows. Come the revolution down Wimbledon Common, he'll be the first one dragged up against the wall.
