Charles Green asks â??why did Walter bid now?â??
andy steel replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
There's two reason why Smith Group have come forward when they did: 1) The potential £100m debt is gone 2) No-one knew D&P would complete the sale to Green in a matter of hours if not minutes. -
I was going to be a dick and tell you that pus only has one 's', but actually the image of Michael Kelly vomiting cats is appropriately hellish for that mob.
-
I'm actually surprised that more businessmen with limited funds but greedy eyes weren't on board with Mr Green. If you can come up with, I don't know, say £250,000 to help with the buyout and costs, you're in a prime spot to make your money over several times for doing very little. Zeus capital, who don't seem to have been doing well, spotted a good thing here. Perhaps we ought to be grateful that Charles doesn't have more capitalist swine on board, lest the Smith group face an ever higher buy out fee.
-
How much sweeter is it going to be then, the first time the supposedly dead Rangers go to Parkhead and hump them?
-
The immediate racking up of the price to over £10m seems to suggest the sort of people we're dealing with. As much as I enjoy Charles Green's media appearances - it's hard not to warm to his style - if his group are going to appear quite as avaricious as this, I suspect they may come into contact with the lunatic element of our support sooner rather than later.

Shouldn't matter if it is Scotland's biggest or least successful club, the member body ought to be applying sanction where fair and helping where possible. Ours is completely bent on punishment with no help whatsoever, and is incapable of making any decision without asking a higher body, whether it be UEFA, FIFA or Peter Lawwell. Well, ok. I'm not looking for favours from anyone. But I will remember them and their actions in these days and one day, so help me Walter, I will stand outside the burning wreckage of our game and say "I told you so! I fucking told you so!!!' The saddest part is, as a lifelong Scotland fan, I actually want to see it happen.

There's no way the Smith group could have come forward before the BTC was solved, one way or the other. No sane businessman, Bluenose or not, would voluntarily accept a potential bill of £100m of someone else's debt. It may be ruthless - indeed it is - but some sane financial management is what we need. Hopefully this is the first act of a new era, where money spent is as close as possible to monies raised. Of course, I could be completely wrong.

I would love a Rosa...since its about 2,500 minimum for one I will keep dreaming!

Championship or League 1 for most of our players, though if any of them had an ounce of curiosity in their souls they'd be telling their agents to find them a couple of years in Scandinavia, or eastern Europe, see the world and broaden their minds.
-
That's easy enough to fix - when some small TV company puts forward a small deal for the SFL, they split the money equally between all three leagues, regardless of which one we happen to be in. After all, that's the only course of action with any integrity. This is hideously sexist, but what a turn on chicks talking dirty is.

Sorry to dampen the enthusiasm, but it's either Scotland or nowehere.
-
I'm not always so gloomy on this topic - we need to go D3 to recover from this desperate illness we're suffering from, and who knows? The other teams may find a better way comes out of it. The only ones who will suffer are 'them', but you'll forgive me if I don't get upset about that.

â??On Planet Charles, everything is somebody elseâ??s faultâ??
andy steel replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Yes, you should. That's exactly what some people are looking for. Aside from the obvious reason - few people grovel for the actions of others - natural pride precludes it; rivarly precludes it; and the hypocrisy of others precludes it. -
We've got better things to worry about atm than what fans of diddy teams enjoying their brief moment of media fame have to say.
-
I think we should be wary of anticipating the demise of the game without us. The standard and attendances atm are chronic; they can hardly get much worse without us. It's quite possible that, forced to trim their sails yet further without TV money, some clubs could come up with a better, younger team and prosper. Of course, its equally possible that they could go into administration too. But its not as cut and dried as no Rangers, no future.

Uncertainity prevails over position of Ally McCoist

Watching just now...they're talking about the Euros. Thank Gawd for the Euros to take my mind off things for a couple of hours a day at least. -

FC Titanic sacks the captain just at the moment we smash into the iceberg. Good thinking. -
â??On Planet Charles, everything is somebody elseâ??s faultâ??
andy steel replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Noticeable how much this 'lack of remorse' line is being used this week. Odd. If we're guilty of anything, then we should be punished according to the rules and no amount of remorse can change that. Can't understand why other people are so keen to see some soul-baring. -
SFA asks Fifa to rule on status of â??newcoâ?? players
andy steel replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
SFA absolutely bloody useless...what's the point in having a governing body which has to ask someone else every time something difficult happens? And is frequently challenged, and defeated, in courts over their "rules''? We'd be as well asking FIFA or UEFA, those bastions of honour and decency, to run the game and save money on SFA costs. -
I see it as a fair punishment for chronic financial mismanagement as well as a new entity starting again from the bottom, which is also fair. It ticks all boxes except giving Charles Green an instant return and some fans instant success.

Looks like it's going to be after we officially go into liquidation, which means if they impose sanctions retrospectively - ie, make them up as they go along - I can see more legal challenges.

Wtf? ????????????????????

I have a query regarding the timeline of events. There's two sides to our possible expulsion from the SPL - first, we have to ask to get back in, second, the others have to say yes or no/set out their conditions. Which comes first? I'd prefer to know what the conditions are before applying, but possibly we can apply then withdraw and try our hand at the SFL offices. What comes first, application or conditions?

1-What's the Boardman like? I assumed it was just a crappy BSO with Boardman's name on it to shift units. 2-'dirt cheap' £300 bike? God, I'm poor. 3- AMMS ain't suggesting we send out 11 mugs recruited from the juniors, he's saying we can win D3 without hiring and paying SPL standard players.
