  1. I hoped this thread was a conclusive decision! Seems to be someone's opinion, though, and unless it's the presiding officer in any investigation posting it, that's about as much use as mine.
  2. I don't see how we can have any energy left for worrying about the fans of other SPL clubs. If they kill their own league, it will be their problem, since we won't be in it.
  3. Jeez, that's a good post.
  4. I just signed him on FM 07 after his release from Anfield. Ridiculous I know, but it makes it a little worse. What a sad story.
  5. Might go with that one! Actually, I was black affronted when I did go on...the number of cretinous Scots and Irish on there trying to gloat was embarrassing. A 0-0 humping, indeed.
  6. England need to be careful they don't turn into us - applauding their players for trying hard. Realism is all very well, but it can easily slip into acceptance of mediocrity. Reckon they're at a crossroads; change styles to improve passing or become Southern Jocks. Might post that on MoTD's Fb page. They should enjoy the comparison.
  7. I think they actively hope we will melt away. We are that hated.
  8. Not one body, club or person will come out of this catastrophe with any sort of character. Certainly it is portrayed as a moral crusade, but if you suspend your morality on all issues other than 'ra hunz' it's not worth wasting attention on. PFA, while immune from criticism within the 'we're all egalitarian, reeeeellly' Scottish mhedia (not one of whom would know Keir Hardie should they be shown a picture of the Great Man), have not managed to get a clear picture on player contracts - afraid this has to be their No.1 priority.
  9. You have to hand it to them, they have chutzpah. Only if 'in no way' means 'we will have to change the punishment' does that statement follow the CAS decision. Eventually, someone will be forced to stand against UEFA and other football bodies (it would be overly generous to describe the SFA thusly) and their mediaeval refusal to recognise minor difficulties such as courts and law. Not going to be us the state we're in, but someone will have to do it.
  10. Tomoz headlines gotta be: Ashes to Ashes
  11. Very good, so if they leave they are money grabbers and if they stay they are money grabbers. This is said in anger and unhappiness but you talk some amount of shite.
  12. Indeed, on our way to three titles in a row. Dunno what team you've been watching, Daniel. I accept our standard has been dire at times - the saving grace, usually, is that the other SPL teams (all of 'em) have been even worse.
  13. Looks like a poor game, like us v us when we were on the road to Manchester.
  14. Ready to change the UK economic system, are we? Coz that's how it works, whether you or I like it.
  15. Just because you disagree with their explanations - as I certainly do with Whittaker's - doesn't mean they are being dishonest. In fact, they have made their decision and gone public with it. Other than a different decision, what more do you want? They could just as easily have done all this behind the scenes and kept silent. As far as the Rangers are concerned, they're nailing down the lid, I'm afraid. Hard to believe that sites like this will be like a T-Rex site, full of memories but with nothing new, but that's how it looks like going. Unreal.
  16. It was with sardonic amusement that I listened to Stuart Cosgrove read out emails in support of Mr Spence yesterday. It is amazing that this sudden outpouring of support for Mr Spence should come in the week he was outed as a raging hypocrite. The agenda is so obvious you can only smile and shake your head. They're not even good at it.
  17. Maybe I'm just a bit down in this gloomy, rainy weather (meant to be June...more like December) but with the way things stand I don't see how we can even exist next season, let alone start rebuilding. Off the top of my head: we are not yet in the hands of the liquidators BDO we face uncertainty over the role of D&P with possible remifications re.decisions they have made we do not have a decision on EBTs we have uncertainty over the vital ST revenue stream we do not have a final decision on SPL tho it's fairly obvious what it will be we do not have a decision from SFL should we apply there we do not have a membership with the SFA we are excluded from UEFA competitions, and now reports say 8 first teamers are set to leave, so we don't even have a squad. It's 23rd June today. I just cannot see how, without people willing to throw away money for a few seasons, we can be in a position to resolve even the most crucial of these issues and be ready for a season. Perhaps a season in abeyance would get these things sorted, but how to fund the club with no income for a year? I think it's the end for us.
  18. Thought Dave King's outlining of the situation was fairly plausible. And the only people I can see 'making it so' are the Smith Group.
  19. Know how you feel, mate.
  20. Can't see him failing, he looks like the ideal modern midfielder to me. Look, we can't hold a grudge against any player who decides that he's had enough of the goings on at Rangers. It been bad for a couple of years and now it has descended into complete chaos. I did think the other day that the best of our younger players, who came on at the end of last season, would be picked off by other clubs - McCabe and Ness are the outstanding pair imo, Wylde has already gone, I should imagine the likes of the Great Salim would see a stable employer as a better bet than us as well. What we have to hope is that the next group of young players, the Hemmings and that other lad, the forward whose name escapes me but who got a couple of run outs, nippy player, we have to hope that they will remain and do a job for us. Same problem will apply for them tho, should they have a good half a season then England or top league Scottish teams will be able to pick them off. It's for these reasons that I don't think Charles Green can take us forward. We don't have the luxury of rebuilding on the pitch while constructing his profit based model off it. Even at the most unambitious level, say five years to get back to the top, the team is going to need constant funding to replace any talent which is taken by other clubs. Can Charles find the 4-5m a year needed? Does he even want to? Can't see it.
  21. If I could have clicked the 'agree' button a million times I would have done so. Totally spot on. A 3-1 balance in favour of the SPL? The body which has overseen our game, never healthy, collapse into complete chaos? And they still think they have the right to lord it over others? What has happened to humility? And btw: The Scottish Professional Football League? You couldn't have chosen a more ironic name if you had tried. The only constant throughout the years of mediocrity has been a total lack of professionalism, from our shoddy accounting to others' chasing of crappy foreigners to rejection of Sky for Setanta...the list goes on and on. This is not reconstruction of our game to aim for a better future - it is the SPL minnows throwing the SFL minnows some sprats in hopes that they will be allowed to remain in their financially slightly better position. It is yet another example of how our clubs never ever see a bigger picture, and it certainly casts their whining about integrity over the last few months in a stark light. If integrity only applies to others, it's not got much integrity at all. You might call it bullshit.
  22. Ah, perfect publicity! Cheers, Nacho, that should take the heat off us for a while. Tho this is hilarious The wee lambs!
  23. We are all accountants.
  24. I doubt that - the local rozzers will be on hand to ensure things don't get out of hand. There were many people at fault in Manchester, and you must include the GMP in that list. Whatever else their faults, Scottish forces know how to get fitba fans in and out of a ground with minimal fuss.
