I'm glad we stayed away from the Italian teams, who look good, and Qarabag, as a long trip there could impact us domestically. I'm also glad we stayed away from Prague and the potential problems that could arise there. We've got a good record against Portuguese teams so it's a reasonable draw.

We seem to play better at the moment when Ridvan is in the team, and Wright hasn't done anything to suggest he deserves a start. I know the manager is changing the team around to keep players fresh, but it may reach the stage where we're doing it too much. However I guess he deserves our trust given what he's done.

I only watched the final but Ivory Coast were by far the better team on the day. I'd hoped that Nigeria would win for Bassey and Aribo.

Cortes was a joy to watch.

I thought Diomande would more likely be a sitting midfielder? He may start instead of Jack? Surely we don't want to risk Jack in a game like this? Is Davies fit? I'd have thought it more likely that he got a start rather than King. Matondo still needs games so he may start. It would have been good to have rested Tav but with Sterling not available and Devine on loan, we may have to start with him. Goldson could do with a rest too, so maybe Souttar or Balogun may get a shot? Will McCrorie get a shot? It's one of the more fascinating team choices of the season and it'll be interesting to see who he goes with.

Probably the same folk that did Da Luciano's, Vincent Marini's place and Jennifer McLeish's car. I'm not convinced it's strictly football related.

there were technical difficulties apparently but it did come 30-45 minutes after it was scheduled to.

I thought Lawrence was excellent in the first half and it was his shot that resulted in the winner. Matondo and Yilmaz did well in the first half too. Cantwell did well and McCausland to an extent but he needs to stop losing possession as much but that'll come. However I've got go for Lundstram too as he kept going for the whole game and his celebration at the first shows how much the plates have bought into everything.

They were playing in different positions on Saturday, so maybe not strictly comparable? Cantwell was playing as a 10 and Lawrence as a 6/8.

AFTER tackles. He never mentions refs before the game. He puts no pressure on them.

WIthout looking, we had Foderingham in goals, Tav and Wallace full backs, Kiernan and Wilson centre halves, Holt and Halliday in the midfield, McKay in the left wing, Waghorn and Miller upfront at different times.

That's not his style. He just wants the team to focus on winning and not side distractions or excuses like dodgy refs. It's a bit frustrating but it seems to be working.

Given the Scottish courts have legalised anti-Protestant sectarianism, it seems anything goes these days...or perhaps it's just one-sided.
