Given the last potential CEO allegedly backed out due to his family getting unwarranted attention, it may be that they've decided to not say anything until the guy is in place. Obviously they could make a holding announcement but that could cause more problems than it solves, depending in the progress that they're making.

Yeah, I haven't heard one sensible alternative. They may have made some bad decisions, but most were made with the best of intentions, and they've continued to fund the club. If people think things are bad now, how much worse would we be if they walked away taking their £20m support with them?

You're right. It shouldn't be that difficult to get it right off the pitch. We're not a difficult business model to understand. Much of our income is known to an extent at the start of the season and likewise the costs. We need someone who is mentally strong, and perhaps not from the West of Scotland. It really shouldn't be difficult to get a capable chairman and CEO. They are out there.

Again I'm the opposite. The only game that comes close to Leipzig for me is winning the league in 99, which was done on their patch and had the added bonus of them humiliating themselves both on and off the park. Maybe the fact that I was there added to it in a way that Helicopter Sunday didn't as I was watching that on the TV.

These results could be forecast 5 years ago. We need to supplement our income with player sales and aren't doing that regularly enough. Another option is for us to reduce costs significantly which would presumably reduce the playing quality (even further). We seem to be going back to the Murray model of just hoping something (a Patterson, Bassey or Seville) will come along and help us out of a hole. Will the accounts look much different in 12 months time? Any salary savings and additional Euro income would be offset by the additional costs of Hampden and the loss of £5m of one-off income, although we should save the £4m of settlement costs. Obviously different fans have different priorities and get different levels of enjoyment. A couple of other comments: We are largely reliant on financial support from the directors, and there are £22m of loans outstanding to them at the year end. They can be rightly criticised over a number of issues but they are obviously still highly committed to the club, and I'm not sure where we would be without their ongoing support, for which they deserve to be praised. We have a settlement cost of £3.8 million, which is presumably the cost relating to the Elite/Hummel case. It's so frustrating that we have wasted cash in such things, although perhaps it was factored in to an extent when deciding to switch to Castore. We are now apparently litigation free for the first time in 10 years. Thank f***!
