  1. ill be surprised if Juve AREN'T relegated. The fact that their defence lawyer said that a relegation to Serie B is "acceptable" is as good as an admission of guilt
  2. Just how cheeky was Zidane's penalty ? And how accurate has Pirlo's crossing been at corners ??
  3. isn't the first fucking time I have done it in this WC either !!
  4. cant believe I just missed the first half hour because I thought it kicked off at 8pm UK time !!!

    Ricksen?

My first thought was that he was probably hammered as well ! What a tool - and he interviewed with a paper yesterday saying how hard everyone was training for the new season - guess he just got himself a week off !

    Ricksen?

Gav, says ..... Rangers FC can confirm today that Fernando Ricksen will not train with the squad in South Africa due to inappropriate behaviour on the flight to Johannesburg. Manager Paul Le Guen said "The behaviour of Fernando Ricksen was wholly inappropriate and unacceptable for the way in which I have asked my players to conduct themselves. Therefore Fernando will not carry out pre-season training with the squad in South Africa."

    Ricksen?

Wonder what he did ? Looks to me like PLG has his first real test on his hands - I reckon, depending on what he did, that Ricksen may have played his last game for Gers.

    Tevez

There is NO WAY Tevez will go for as little as 5 Mill. And with the tournament he has just had if anyone saw Gers were having talks with him then the "big fish" would be in like a shot. Unfortunately never likely to come off.
  9. Lahm has been a revelation - had barely heard of him prior to the WC - but man did he have agreat tournament
  10. Shots on target could ALSO be construed as greed and not being a team player.... hmmmm, Ronaldo not a team player ?!?! A legend ? At 19, or whatever young age he is ?
  11. There are 2 seperate issues at play here. 1. Is he a good/great player ? 2. Is he a cheat ? I think Danny is right in that he is a very talented player, not great (that word gets thrown about too often). But there is no doubt that he has the goods at his disposal to be one of the best. I also happen to think, as we all do, that he is a cheat - and he needs to realise soon that if he continues down that path then his chances of becoming a great player diminish, as well as any respect you can command from your fellow professionals. The fact that he feels he has to leave England because of the abuse is pretty disgraceful. The English are demonising him as being the reason they were eliminated form the WC... the reason they were eliminated is because they were shite... but yet again the English have to find a scapegoat outwith their own ranks to blame their own failings on.
  12. 86 was the best tournament in my opiniontoo Gribz, earliest I remember was 82 (who can forget the Paolo Rossi show against Brazil ??) I think it might get bogged down tomorrow unless we see an early goal. Disagree on Argentina taking off Riquelme though - he was largely ineffective against Germany anyway - I do think you are partially right though in that when they took him off I don't think they should have replaced him with ANOTHER defensive midfielder (they ended up with 3 defensive CM's on the pitch), they should maybe have brought on Messi as Germany would have had to have opened up leaving chances for the Argentines going forward and Messi can be lethal in the scenario
  13. Looks like Juve are guaranteed to go down, even there defence lawyer is accepting that as punishment - wonder if we could pick up one or two of their players ?
  14. Yeah but Stewarty, would you wait for an offer to be accepted that may never be made ? He couldn't wait forever. He could have stayed at Brondby though I guess.
  15. Wigan deal confirmed at 5.5 mill !
  16. Colsh, Italy beat the Aussies 1-0, 94th min pen - not 2-1 I will go for 2-1 to Italy.
  17. fair point linzee - didn't think about whether it would be club or country coefficient - I agree with you that it makes more sense for it to be the country's as that is how the spots are determined in the first instance. Would be nice - but highly doubtful !
  18. I think there are some very good players that could be available for the 3.5 mill that Toulouse paid In PLG we trust !
  19. I saw someone posting on one of the rumours websites about this yesterday and saying we would get a place. Someone else posted today with the coefficients and there were at least 3 teams with better co-efficients than us who placed 3rd in a league that had 2 participants in the CL. Wishful thining I believe
  20. Elmander's move to Toulouse has been confirmed on sky sports
  21. It may not have come down to Elmander's personal choice though Steve.... Brondby were saying they had refused our bid - so if there wasn't an accepted bid from us then we can't even speak to the player
  22. Ban Colshy ?????? Just kidding Colsh, you make up about 50% of the posts in here
  23. Ummm, not to burst your bubble but we WILL be in Europe during the qualifying games..... I am sure that the Scots fans will get the chance to sing the same to the English during Euro 2008 too, it is the norm you know !! But..... no doubt there will be a scapegoat made to cover their own failings.... AGAIN !
  24. PLG wants to sign a starlet playing for Arsenal....... unfortunately not Walcott though - anyone know anything about this kid ? From sky sports ============================================== Rangers are hoping to sign Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner New Gers boss Paul Le Guen has revealed he has talked with Arsene Wenger about the 18-year-old. The Dane is highly-rated at Arsenal and he made three appearances in the first team last season - all in the Carling Cup. Le Guen is keen to bolster his squad and is hoping Wenger will let the youngster move to Glasgow. "Yes, this is a name (Bendtner) I know. I called Arsene Wenger one month ago, but that is all at the moment," said Le Guen. Le Guen also remains hopeful of finally sealing a deal for Lyon midfielder Jeremy Clement. Rangers have held talks with the player after agreeing a fee with Lyon earlier this week. "Perhaps this will happen tomorrow. I am hopeful for Clement," concluded Le Guen
  25. And Wigan bid 5.5 million for the big donkey !! Birmingham snatched their hand off - no wonder !!
