I most certainly wasn't suggesting that we should pay for overpriced players - my point was SOLELY that there should be more money to spend given DM's statements. I don't know enough about Sebo... but (I think it was you Danny) a good point was made that this guy was playing with Artmedia season before last and isn't exactly a household name so is he worth 2.5 mill ? And given that his contract expires at the end of next season that should diminish his value still further

Yes they are representing the fans, fair enough. I just don't get how you can expect Rangers to do a lot to get fans their travel expenses reimbursed - they don't have a scooby what fans are travelling and have already met such costs. Rangers have done as much as can be done (if you believe the official statement) to get the match re-instated - I failt to see what more they could do. Regarding who gets the fans time back, their travel costs back, the accomodation costs back - did you utilise Rangers for these expenses ? I doubt it - so if you didn't use Rangers to book such accomodations and travel arrangements then, just like in most other cases, you booked them on your own and therefore your grievance should be with GMP and the grievance should be taken up by each individual themselves, IMO.

Cammy, what money are Rangers going to get back to the fans ? The statement said the fans would be re-imbursed the ticket and booking fees - travel costs etc won't be refunded but I doubt that would ever be the case in an instance like this anyway. Why should they be telling every avenue that they have exhausted ? Surely if the club say they have exhausted every avenue then the support should take that as read - or do they now need to provide lists of what has and has not been done ? Just what would Celtic do to get GMP to reverse their decision ? There is nothing THEY could do either. And what else should Rangers do if they have exhausted all avenues of appeal ? There isn't much that can be done other than accept it, is there ?

Crap, knew I would forget at least one - and he IS an important one - thanks Danny. He was free too. Am sure we got 500k for Zurab - but even if not and we assumed we got nothing for him then we have spent a total of 1.7 mill on player transfer fees. I would like to think that there are more signings to come, especially as DM said there were "several" millions to spend. In my experience 1.7 does not count as "several"

This action has NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING, to do with Rangers though Cammy - it is the action of a Police Force. Just what are RANGERS supposed to do about this - they have stated that they took it as far as they could in the appeals process. Often I applaud you for some of the things you say regarding the Board - but I simply CANNOT agree with you on this one. Why should the Board be held accountable for the actions of an external party in this type of situation ?
-
Cammy, which part of the statement did you not read when it was stated "Rangers FC has exhausted the avenues of appeal to open it and have now no alternative but to accept the decision." That to me suggests the club have taken it as far as they possibly can. Rangers are not responsible for GMP's actions so the fact there are no other concerts, matches etc on is a question that should be asked of GMP, not Rangers
-
Just what can Rangers do against GMP though Cammy ? If they won't police it and shut it down because they SAY they can't police it then Rangers can't do much about it.

I think the signings have been Svensson - 600k Clement - 1.1 mill Sionko - Bosman Stanger - Free Ponroy - Free Furman - Free N'Diaye - Free No doubt I have missed someone - and likely someone important.... The NET spending is less though because we also got 500k for Zurab - that correct ?
-
also paid 1.1 mill for Clement

That Canadian info costs at least a quid for each suggestion Gav

so you will be travelling back from Jersey for the games every other week Dunn ? Long freaking trip that is it not ?
-
Also depends on how many of their players they retain Danny.

Likely go to the next best placed team gersfem - which will be the 7th team in the league (AC, Juve and Fio had all qualified so the 4th placed team ends up being 1st for CL purposes, then 5, then 6, then 7th) ?? Hope the Tims don't get placed in the same pot as that team !
-
Unless he can work some of his French magic on Deschamps he will be fighting with bigger teams in bigger leagues unfortunately Colsh. But.... how about some season long loan deals ?
-
Juve will be stuck in Serie B the season after next too !
-
DUH !!! Maybe if I had read the post before yours or even the one that you quoted I wouldn't have asked such a dumb question ! EDIT : I am calling myself dumb, not you guys !
-
what did they all get Colsh ? Can't find anything
-
anyone know where I can get audio commentary of the game ?
-
Hope they all make a speedy recovery.
-
No it isn't Danny, I don't think ???
-
I think we are now starting to see the team take shape..... the keeper and back 4 look like they could be the SPL starting defence. Midfield looks like it might be the starting midfield (after replacing Bazza for Hemdani) and up front might be the starting choice too. Perhaps Charlie Adam and Chris Burke rotating ?

Here you go Gav PAUL LE GUEN has named a strong Rangers side for the second match of their pre-season tour of South Africa. New signings Lionel Letizi, Karl Svensson, Libor Sionko (pictured) and Jeremy Clement all start against Premier League side Jomo Cosmos while trialist Makhtar N'Diaye has to settle for a place on the bench. Up front last season's top scorer Kris Boyd starts alongside Thomas Buffel. Earlier in the day the Rangers squad had been serenaded by the Blomfoentein Municpality Choir upom their arrival at the airport before Mayor Gertrude Mothupi formally welcomed the squad to the city. Rangers: Letizi; Hutton, Rodriguez, Svensson, Smith; Sionko, Clement, Hemdani, Adam; Buffel, Boyd *Kick-off has been delayed after the match officials were involved in a road accident.

They aren't disputing the case though Colshy - look at the guys final sentence - they want to BUY him from Chelsea - yes they have no rights to him but they just want to buy him in a regular business transaction (or at least partially buy him - I would think this part works like it does in Italy where you can have more than one club owning a player). as for it being a dodgy deal I agree with you, Koeman and Chris - it isn't dodgy at all - Chelsea pay, Chelsea's player, goes on loan - simple
