What makes it pathetic Colshy ? Because my opinion differs from yours ? Man U are a bigger AND better club than Chelsea, more global, bigger and better stadium, more history, greater traditions etc etc - no doubt, at least for me, that they are a better club than Chelsea. And I am not even a Man U fan.

Don't know about bullshit Pete but I certainly smell "sell-off". Everything we have seen this transfer window reeks of "selling" This transfer window has suggested, to me at least, that DM is working the books to make us attractive to a sell-out. Couple of things make me think this way : 1) He promised the JJB money for transfers, never transpired. 2) He said that there would be "significant funds" available. 3) Have any of you noticed the length of EVERY contract at the club ? That's right..... THREE YEARS...... from PLG's contract (3 years) to every player he has signed, N'Diaye aside, has been 3 years. That to me is a big indicator that he is looking to sell. PLG signs for 3 years and all the players he signs are for 3 years too.... coincidence ??? If we get a big money buyer then maybe these players wll be moved on at little cost to allow for big money replacements..... OR PLG cant work with the new chairman and has a golden parachute.... or..... these players increase their value and get lucrative extensions.....or.....I am just talking nonsense.....

The club's senior management that gave him 17k per week needs to shoulder some of the responsibility for this too. Had his wages been lower we most probably would have got rid of him much sooner ! However, what a money-grabbing F$#%# - they (he and Newcastle) must have been in talks prior to him getting his pay-off for this to transpire so quickly !

I think that, much like the Shevchenko deal, Chelsea make out like bandits here (even though I rate Gallas VERY highly). I would have expected it to be more like 10 mill plus Gallas

I couldn't agree more Frankie. However, the one thing leaves me concerned at the management at the club is that what SHOULD have happened is that behind closed doors, and long before the final day of the transfer window, the club should have been budgeting and preparing to get these players off the books and getting potential replacements lined up. That way we may have faced a very different deadline day - if the club had put together terminations for these players (without the players knowing as if the players in question had known that they were being paid off they would likely refuse to go to another team without the pay-off) and sounded out suitable replacements then it could be pretty much a seamless transaction. Yet it seems (important: it SEEMS, they might have done this anyway) as if this was all done last minute. Disappointing and I think it leaves us scarce on the ground should injuries and suspensions occur. Hopefully we can avoid them till January - I would fully expect there to be further strengthening come the January window.

How many times have you watched Fan-Fan play Dunn ? He barely got a game under Eck AND PLG doesn't rate him either - seeing a common theme yet ??? Ohhhh, and YES PLG has proven himself IMO, I believe that 3 consecutive league titles in France as well as a couple of last 8 appearances in the CL are evidence of such.
