  1. Can't agree Colshy ! You are saying that a player can finish in a different manner dependent on the opposition, that makes no sense at all (unless you mean that Chelsea are stronger defensively which would of course hold true) - but your statement is saying that RvP's technique would be different against 2 different teams which doesn't make sense to me. All about opinions but RvP's goal is a better goal than Drogba's IMO. The fact he had to have both feet airborne, had no time to do anything other than strike it, and when he did it was an absolute screamer. Drogba's goal was a beauty too right enough
  2. Do you have a quote from PLG that says Letizi will waltz back into the team ? McGregor will never, IMO, take the Scotland keeper's spot away from Craig Gordon.
  3. I think (could very well be wrong) that the country co-efficient has a mcuh lower rating than the club specific co-efficient.
  4. Villa doing pretty well against Chelsea, must be said. Your Killie bet is looking......well.......what do I say..... lights out ?? Gav, want a bet for a horse tomorrow in France ? I pay giys for their tips and they say this horse is a CERTAINTY. PM me if you want the horse, I have bet it BIG.
  5. Dont forget that the co-efficient is based on the last FIVE years performances and also the performances of the other clubs in your association (SPL).
  6. I didnt say I would be happy Dunn. And I also dont think PLG will drop McGregor - if players do the business (And McGregor is one of the few that have) then they will no doubt stay in the team. In my opinion PLG is a manager that plays the players that are in form. But your snippet of what PLG said is misleading.
  7. I agree with Gazza and Barry. The other thing though Dunn is that you are picking out a snippet of what PLG said. His actual words were along the lines of "I love the fans and I respect the crowd but they don't pick the team, I do". Now, can you tell me that the snippet that YOU included looks as if the comment was far harsher than what he said in full per my quote ? PLG does pick the team and I woudl be very saddened if he DID succumb to fan pressure - because he would in essence be saying that he thinks the fans know more than him, and that would be a pretty sad daY I feel. Also, I think he is trying to say to McGregor that he will pick who he feels is best, it is his way of trying to ensure that McGregor stays sharp, focussed and not too cocky about his place in the team.
  8. Don't hold your breath on the first point above Colshy - he may be young, he may be raw and he may have talent but I highly doubt he will turn into an Ibrox legend. Are you honestly saying that he has played well thus far ? I think he has played pretty poorly but had some decent (actually some very good moments) - eg, he had a GREAT sliding tackle against the Hibbees but he also, in the same game, cost us the match with a lapse in concentration. Now.... it can be argued that the sliding tackle was part of the job and the 2nd still cost us the game - so the negative outweighs the positive right now. That said, I am prepared to give him time to settle and he is, after all, a young guy - but he needs games out of the first team right now because by being IN the team he is costing us points. BUT..... he is NOT the only one costing us points. It can just as easily be said that the forwards have cost us as many points with all the missed chances we had in the first few games of the season.
  9. If it is before the final it is early !!
  10. Their marriage covered up the sexuality etc ??? Bloody expensive cover-up !!
  11. overhit pass in my opinion.
  12. Nope, he misses the game tomorrow calscot because of the red last week
  13. Agree Chris, although J-Rod hasn't been that convincing I think this game calls for J-Rod and Papac. I would prefer if in January we went out and got another centre-half because I feel the J-Rod's form has dipped and Svensson needs some time to improve his game. Much of the goals we have lost this season have come from bad defending from the centre-half position.

But only if it is the winner, or secures a draw.
  15. Hemdani isn't a centre-half and will get ripped to shreds with a strong, bustling centre-forward. He may have looked good against Dunfermline but going up against Celtic with a big, strong front player in JVoH would be a mistake on PLG's part, IMO. Plus I think we will need Hemdani in the midfield with Clement out (even though I don't like Hemdani and Fergie in the same team beside each other in midfield).
  16. I still think we have the team to beat them on Saturday but we need to apply more pressure in the midfield and allow them much less time on the ball. I don't think they are that good a team.... but I said the same last season and they wiped the floor with us. Hopefully the REAL Rangers show up on Saturday !

But why Gav ? Most of the team are HIS players (or ones he wants) are they not ?
  18. Some are forgetting that had it not been for Svensson (AND McGregor) Hibs would have been 2-0 up inside the forst 10 mins - the sliding tackle he made at the back post after a GREAT McGregor save was immense. That said, he lost his man for the 2nd goal and what makes it worse was that he had no need to get closer to the ball, which is what he was doing, as there were no Hibs players in front of him. Had he held his position he would at least have been putting a challenge on Killen and making it more difficult to score. But aside from his lapse which cost us the game I thought he played reasonably well on Sunday.
  19. FA have already said Chelsea will suffer no points deduction. Who was it they were supposed to have been tapping up ? Who, other than Allardyce (serves the tit right) and his son have been implicated ?
  20. Lol Colshy - you forgot to mention your beloved Chelsea. Me thinks people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
  21. Don't agree Stewarty, I think the exact time you want the Chairman backing the manager is at the START of the window so the manager knows exactly what he has to play with for the rest of the window. If the manager thinks he is bargain basement hunting for 3.5 weeks and does so, picking up players but then in the last couple of days is told "here you go there's a couple of mill" it is too late IMO because some of the positions he would have wanted filled have already been filled with the bargains. The BEST time for a manager to know what financial resources he has for transfers is at the START of the transfer window, not the end.
  22. Yeah, any chance we can get this thread back on topic ??? Clemnet is a real blow as I feel he would have had the drive, determination and engine to test the Celtic midfield on Saturday - looks like we will have Fergie and Hemdani in there and we know they have struggled in the same team in the past. Hope I am wrong but I fear for our chances on Saturday
  23. Why is it though that Mowbray can get his players to play that well, and in a manner in which we would be happy with, on a shoe-string budget (by comparison) ?? I reckon it is due to them knowing they need to find good youngsters and nurture them (which brings us back to our old chestnut of youth development).
  24. Cammy, in fairness to Ian Murray... in both those Hibs games you mention the WHOLE TEAM were ripped by Hibs - or are you making the team reliant on one person (as you said that we couldn't rely on one person (Ferguson) in another thread) ?? Re Riordan, the initial discussion was abotu them being a success ON the field and now you are saying the reason for his lack of success is due to off-field problems, which therefore makes him with Brown and Thomson an unfair comparison. Also, sadl to say, you try to compare him with Clement - the fact of the matter is that right now it is HARDER to break into the Celtic team than it is the Rangers team (note : Clement deserves his place in our team but the challenge is less than it is for Riordan in their preferred positions IMO). Also, it may be that Clement has adjusted better (or, hopefully, is simply a better player). But at the encd of the day this is about Brown and/or Thomson - and I still say that we could do with either or both of them at Ibrox. You say how do we pay for them ?? I say sell Ferguson (but then that no doubt will also result in your ire being thrown at me - Ferguson is living on past reputation, he WAS the best midfielder in Scotland, but cetrainly on the past couple of seasons he most certainly is no longer). Your comparison between Cammy Fraser and Murray is also unfair as it is based on 2 different players, 2 different positions (I cut you slack as it was calscot that brought that comparison into play) Just because Miller scored 5 in a 1st team game and then scored as a sub doesn't mean he was bought to go STRAIGHT into the 1st team Cammy.

I know you dislike DM Cammy and I won't argue about Campbell Ogilvie (as it would be impossible to do so) but I don't think you are giving DM credit where it is due - or are you saying he had no forward thinking ?
